Update
Got the 2j on the third try the next time I tried doing the 1970 ticket reset trick. So I can confirm what everyone already knows, the easiest way to obtain a 2j is through a 1970 gift ticket.

The odds are better for getting a 2J in 0/0/0 from a 1970 birthday ticket. This is the easiest way on paper to get the 2J because there is more possible cars to come from the level 23 ticket other than a 2J, a level 23 ticket which has many more cars and possible permutations.

But well done on getting it on the third try, that's lucky!

Edit: I got this the wrong way round, have corrected it now. Apologies.

Just got another one that showed up in my UCD. I went through and counted and I now have 8. All but one from the UCD. The one that didn't come from the UCD came from a '70 ticket, first try, lol.

First I have to get another 1970 birthday ticket.

Do you want a '70 or a level 23 ticket? I personally think its easier to get from a 23 ticket. Either way, its your choice. Add cargorat323, tell me which you want, and I'll send it after reset this evening. Nothing needed in return. Happy Holidays.

Oh thank you, that would be great, Cargo. I'd rather a '70 bday ticket, after seeing Outeke's post. I have a level 23 ticket coming from another trade soon, so I'd rather have this one. And I might get lucky.

I'll add you in 5 minutes or so.

1970 (12 cars)
Level 23 (30 cars)

Just need to be lucky in the end :D

Edit: source

I didn't know this - I looked at GT5 cars - and I must've gotten mixed up. There is definitely more of a chance from a '70 ticket, lol. I just checked again. Will edit my above post.

Yea, I was thinking a 23 ticket had fewer cars also but you can't argue with proof, lol. What was I thinking, lol. Anyways, will send the ticket in about 3 hours.

I've been looking for in Chaparral 2J for months and months, and found a website which tells you how many race days till it appears in the UCD.

http://gt5cars.net/used_car_searches/new

and now I know only 902 days to go. I've also found a quick way to accumulate race days, If you go to Licenses, and start first license, 'stopping on top gear test track', when the license loads just proceed to next license, (second from right icon along the bar next to exit), which should take you to the next license. Do this 4 times, so you should now be on B-5, exit back to home page and go to UCD and the UCD should now be replenished with new cars, this can take as little as 3:30 minutes. I did this and in about 40 mins I was up to race day 2410, only 844 days to go now. At this rate it should take me no time at all to get to race day 3254.

Yes, this is already a widely known method. People have been doing that since the dawn of time, lol. Anyways, welcome to the forums and enjoy the washing machine when you get it.

1. Some like to collect 0/0/0 cars.
2. Keep one as a high mileage car for certain PP events.
3. Only 3 tuning sheets, some may have track specific tunes which out number the 3 tuning sheets.
4. Some people only drive theirs up to a certain mileage point and disgard them when permanent engine damage occurs.
5. Some people collect them just for the sake of collecting as they don't show up in the UCD that often.

Thats five, enough for you? I'm sure other people have more reasons aswell.

Yeah, I stand corrected. Didn't think of any other reasons apart from number 3.

I have finally got the 2J, although I got it on race day 2636 and not 3254 as the mentioned website said it would next appear.

Well can you believe it, I wait over a year & a half & get the elusive 2J, thinking I would never see another for a good long while.....what happens, 3months later a get another.
EDIT: And to top that just now I pick up another...why is it I now have three 2j's & yet have yet to see a Lister Storm, probably the only car out of my 1193 I don't have.

Decided to create a second account in hopes that I'll get the different master list. I did, and I will soon have one.

The UCD variation is machine specific, not profile specific. If your new identity is on the same machine, it won't make a difference. I am on a machine that has a very limited number of 2Js. I now have two and keep 15,000,000 in the bank in case I see another one.
I guess everyone knows that you can't race endlessly and expect to pick up any car you want, right? The UCD has 15 slots that change 3 at a time. Run six races and you will miss a set of cars. TTs don't change the UCD supply, only races and license runs, special races included. Even if I get a good leading pack in a seasonal, I will back out after a few races to see what's up in the UCD.

Hmm, I'm going to have to double check with the database, but it seems my second profile has different rarity scores, be that as it may, I needed to restart if I wanted to go about collecting rare cares and not passing on any.

I have noticed the slot change issue, although it seems to go back to the list according to the database after a few game days.

"The Master Lists
These are tied to your PS3, so all profiles on that PS3 start in the same place on the same Master List."

Glad I read that before I started on another profile.

like I said, the 2j on my first profile is over 1300 game days away. I'll have five by then with my second profile, first up like 150 gd's away. What's so difficult to understand here?

What's so difficult to understand? You're using a different PS3 then, right? You said you were using a different profile, not a different PS3 unit. On one master list, there are many 2Js, on the other, only a few. You obviously know way more than me so I'll quietly skulk away, knowing that I'm on Master List 2 and 2Js are few and far between.

Even if I'm on the same list, the next 2j is 1300+ days away on my first profile (I must have skipped and missed a few) and I'll have 5 opportunities to buy an 2j, in 1300 game days, on my second profile, which I have just started.

In summation, SOME may find some benefit to starting a new profile, even if the master lists are identical.

If you saw it for the first time, the lists seem to bring them back in relatively soon, still a long way away but not as far as the original wait. Make sure you have at least 15 million credits on hand!

Hi all,

I also tried to get the 2J keeping an eye on the UCD, while holding 15 mln plus in the bank. I guess I have the "bad" version of the PS3, first version, because its just not showing up. Now I am trying the birthday ticket trick, gifted the ticket to my main account and am now trying to get it and restoring my back up when I didn't get it. I have tried 50 times now and did see the Toyota 7 a few times but not the 2J. Anyone had the same experience? Im about to give up :)

I had the same problem, waited nearly 18months then one turned up, that was three months ago. Since then amazingly I've picked up another two just weeks apart...keep at it, their out there.

The car I'm having an impossible time getting is the Lister Storm, I saw it very early on when I first got the game, didn't buy it as I remember it not being that good in GT4. Now it turns out it's probably the ONLY car I don't own...oh the irony lol
