I think this is going to be the most difficult race of the season for everyone. There's three chicanes where you can make or break your lap. It's hard to press on and race as hard as you would like to, because that way you will definitely make mistakes. I think it'll be about finding the balance, knowing when to go all out and when to play it safe.

Sorry for not making the race Sunday.. been a very hectic weekend. I'll be around for the next round..

Well i think we should keep the rain if you have trouble seeing practice more its F1 they race in tha rain i dont think we should change everyone knew going in to this we were gonna have rain races PRACTICE i can run in 1.17s most laps had a few laps in the 1.16s last night tonight could only manage a 1.17.000

Ok, you can replace Jimmy Dickinson at Lotus then, seeing as he hasn't turned up yet at all.

I see you're an Aussie, are you ok with the start times? They'll be early morning for you? We were going to start an Aussie/NZ championship a few months back, but the interest wasn't there, so unfortunately the PAL side is European-centric for start times.

Yeh worked out the start time and i can do it for sure.

Hey, If you would like to address me in a personal way such as those two post,I would suggest using the private message function. You can do the race in SNOW for all I care DUCK ,QUACK QUACK. And try to use some punctiuation in your post.

Rain does even the field though. :)

How?
The rain makes the fast driver look faster due to less crashes and/or penalties (if any); and the slow driver, slower due to low speed around the circuit and multiple crashes and penalties.

Rain = 👎,👎,👎

Not exactly.. there are some (myself included) who are only accustomed to dry tarmac. I'm average at best in the wet.

Why does nobody ever join Jaguar? lol. I have only had a team mate in two races so far. How am I meant to contend for the Constructors with one driver! lol.

 Because I reserved the seat for me, but seeing as I've only made 2 races, one of which was a quite a late join, I think you can have this driver for once

The reason I give the new drivers to other teams is because, well, look at Lotus right now, only 26 points. Whereas on your own you have managed to take 2nd in the championship, mostly through being consistent and turning up more than everyone else.

But now Williams has got 2 drivers, I think you deserve a better one than me.

Good to hear, I'll sign you up with Kak in Jaguar then 👍

Updated the tables finally, I'll try to update them earlier from now on, its hard though because I finish uni late on Mondays and Tuesdays so I rarely feel motivated to do it, I will try to improve this from now on.

The 2 wet races this year, Melborne I was 4th and Silverstone I was either 2nd or 4th depending on what went on with timing and scoring, but the results were thrown out, and both races were higher than my normal finish. The rain evens it for me because I know the racing line, but the combination of this games physics and using the controller doesn't allow me to push the car as hard as some of the other drivers in the dry, so when there is rain my pace isn't much slower than in the dry.

Yeah Ardius, I am pretty pleased with my achievements so far :D. Some, I know have been through lack of competitors during some of the races, but that's just part of the championship.
I am really looking forward to Magny-Cours, I have never raced there in the rain, so it should be quite a fun one and hopefully quite close. I think I am going to try and take this one safe though; and I hope for another finish in the top 2 :D, I don't want to break my streak :D lol.

3 wet races, Monaco (I missed it)

Sorry I know i'm being really pernickety here, but are you able to put in italics the position of whoever got fastest lap, like they do on wikipedia?

BTW, when the time comes I would happily organise this championship for F1 09 if you can't. That's unless my situation has completely changed, which it could well have done by the time it comes out in 2019 :indiff:

I'd need to know how to do those tables though :dunce:

Well, I just did my first practice in the wet at Magny-Cours and the track is so much different. I was consistently getting 1:18s, which isn't too good, 1:19s on bad laps and my best so far is 1:17.9.
So I think I am going to need to improve quite a bit before Saturday.

loooool dubs i was talking about anyone who dont like the rain i wasnt talking about anyone in particular the rain is part of the game and a part of F1 thats one of the reasons i asked you to try and get me in this tournament and i do appreciate that i have fun when you come practice with us and as for punctiuation loooooool Im a dumb ol REDNECK who dont have a computer so i aint worried about punctiuation i just wanna race so come practice with us more and im sure we can help uyou get faster i would like to see you up front more so we can have some battles

After practicing this track in the light rain, I would absolutely agree. To hell with the rain. I refuse to do anymore laps in it as I'm about ready to throw my remote down.

It can rain all it wants... I'm ready for it on Sunday night! :D --- Randy

Ive just done my 3rd practice session and was my best yet. I got my best lap time down 2, 1,17,6 and hitting 1,18 most other laps. Good thing is im going 20laps without getting any pens. What is everyone else getting?

Round abouts the same fastest lap around high 17's and consistently in the 18's-19's for 20 laps. haha so far only managed 1 race without pens or spinout. Only thing is i'm finding it pretty hard to get the turn 7-8 chicane right, in the dry it can pretty easily be taken full throttle, in the rain i ease the throttle a little going in and get away with it most times but other times i find myself facing the wrong way at the end of it. Now tending to use a little brake going in. Not a very confident complex for me in the wet.

Yeah it's tricky to get consistently right in the wet, I think in the race it's best to play it safe there.

I think my lap times can be quicker but im not getting the right line in turn 3 on 2 the long straight.

In the wet and lack of tuning, the car understeers terribly on that turn. It just won't hold, even if you think you get the right line.
