Hmm, but, but, but
.........
I think the whole point to what I'm saying is it makes it fun having that element of uncertainty there so that rain can be genuinely unexpected and challenging. Giving people a week to practice in certain conditions, results in everyone being adept at it and it not being especially difficult to drive in, in which case all the rain does is slow the lap times down but doesn't really add much fun to proceedings. My idea is based on real life conditions and IMO makes it seem fairer to me and less arbitrary.
Infact, I think it would even up the field a bit more. For instance, if I spend my whole time practicing in the dry and then it rains, I'm as unprepared as the next person and could easily be beaten by drivers who aren't usually quicker than me.
Besides I don't see this as being complicated at all. Instead of where you state the weather, give this link for the weather forecast: (this is just an example)
http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/Suzuka/forecasts/latest
You could put in brackets what the forecast is, in this case as you can see it would be dry but also you can see the website simply states light and heavy rain for other days. Then you would need to update it come race day as to what the actual weather turns out to be.
I'd like to know what others think of this suggestion 💡
