If you really love the car go to Jet Jaguar's Gran Turismo tuning guide, or GT3 Tuners vault.
If not sell it and get a Skyline.

Have you won the RX-7 infini III yet? fully modded it is very capable. I'm not down on the 300ZX. I've just completed testing for another thread, and was not impressed with the car's abilities.

u buy it, can't win it.

Buy the really ugly rx-7, thats the only one that can compete in the 80's race

Try mine. I found that the cars has bad braking and a lot of understeer. Hope you like em'.

You might also try the S13 Silvia. If you have the cash to mod it up, it handles pretty well and can be beefed up to over 500 hp.

Well I tried the Silvia, it didn't work.
I tried the 300zx, couldn't tune it.
Then it dawned on me the SKYLINE!!! It was so clear if i got the Skyline I'd win easy and I did. So I'm letting you know how it tuned out.

Don't use the old RX-7, that's what you'll win when you finish the 80's cup anyway... an R32 Skyline GT-R will be unstoppable in the 80's cup.

Streetracer780:
Seeing as how you've already finished this race (80'S Beginner), this info may not be as useful. might help others out though.

I jumped in to my Silvia K car (1800, won earlier) grabbed an oil change and added a Semi Racing Suspension, sports brakes, chip, racing Muffler, stage 1 turbo, Racing Intercooler, super slicks (didn’t really need), and stage 2 weight reduction.

Bottomed out the Suspension, Auto Setting=24, and went for it.

I absolutely HATE this course (1 & 2), and it shows. I managed to pass the SS after the last turn, on the final straightaway. Had a tough time keeping the back end behind me.

Sprinter Trueno (AE 86): +8.067

I pocket a few credits and a Mazda RX-7 Inifini III.

gil says that he has tested this car for another thread. In that case you should know that when fully tuned this car is an absolute animal in fifth gear. it has relentless accelaration through all gears and I think that its poor handling can be to a certain extent tamed and its stoppnig power can be maximised with clever use of the balance. Not that im an expert.;)
