Hint hint: that Prius can do mid 1:35's in arcade mode, low 1:34's in fast room with come-from-behind boost.

I ran this tune last night in a short field (5 cars?). I got a start penalty by accident so was quickly in last place. The leader was an Elise '00. I was able to catch up to him and was right behind him at the start of the final straight. We were nose to nose at the finish line. I laughed so loud when I saw that I won by 0.003 seconds. He/she must have been so pissed to lose to a Prius.

I was also in some races with more cars and took 2nd to an Elise '11 while beating 7 other Elises (and other cars) of various years.

Thanks for the tune gkgamer. You should be dubbed "Sir Elise Killer" (or "Madam").

Gave the Prius a go, and managed a couple of 4th places, but still haven't got myself tuned into it yet. The odd thing is that the Prius I had been trying was the 03 version, which, despite having more power and less weight than the 09 version at 350pp, is not as fast - maybe the 03 just needs a better handling tune.

Suffered from a string of those frustrating races last night, back in my VX220, where one guy in an Elise managed to look exceptionally fast despite ramming everybody (giving himself as many penalties as others), running wide on corners, etc etc. I passed him in one race when he was in penalty mode, lost sight of him behind me, within 2 corners he was back on my tail, pushed me wide on a corner, and then shot off in front to win by a large margin!

This will be the next QM to be bumped, looks like I'm going to have to start looking at which QM I use to replace it - hopefully the next new QM will be equally engaging.......

I think you fell foul of the dirty room today (the one with the Sambabus in it) - it had been a bit rough for a while, so I took the win and got out! Even managed to avoid the rammer who hung back for a lap, and then rushed up behind me to take me out - he missed me completely and ended up in the barrier.

Yeah, I saw you in that race. Congrats on the win. I got rammed into pretty bad and took a penalty for someone else's bad driving. I raced one other race after that one and took second.

It really sucks getting a penalty for someone else's bad driving!

Sure does - I saw you drop down the field quite quickly, so guessed you'd been a victim!

Had one on this evening, seemed to have a car with no brakes, used me a few times instead......

I tried your tune. It seems very fast and stable. But I go slightly faster with Praiano's tune. With his tune I was able to have a one-on-one race with a GSX and only lose by 0.5 seconds. His tune, though, is more susceptible to being spun out by the opponents.

I have set a TT event with the QM specs in my club.

https://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/gt6/user/#!/clubid/1019936/event/1048529/

So far I have tried a few euro FF cars and my Schwimmwagen which is nowhere close to the pink one I faced a few days ago.
Feel free to dial in your reference times with the car you like or just check the results.
I intend to test 50+ cars so I have restrained myself to a single 6' session by model, good or bad I'll leave it as it is until I am finished with my car list. I may retry the sessions where I feel I have made the cars look slow because of bad driving afterwards.

Folks,

How does a GSX get into this race? I can't get the PP below 357 with no tuning and 200kg ballast. Any suggestions? the last race some guy in a GSX absolutely ran away and hid from the field by more than 20 seconds.

I asked a US driver after a good race and he said he had to drive it between 8000 and 9000 miles to get it to qualify.

(Back after 3 months overseas)

Really enjoy this low PP quick match to get a bit of practice.
Been using the Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 with a de-tuned 400PP tune from the TT at Street of Willow awhile back.
Do not see much Cappuccino's but can run low 5:00's easily, depending on "traffic" and it is just fun to beat some badly driven Lotus R's and GSX/4R's. Must try the Prius that was mentioned before in this thread.
Nice way to get some easy cash.

Welcome back!

Glad you enjoy this QM, it's a difficult track to get right, but very rewarding when you do - it's easy to over drive it, which makes for a slower lap time

I use the MG TF160 iv only seen two others on track its a great car and iv won a few races with it,i"m surprised
more people don"t at least try it,just to add these 350pp non race car events are great fun, more of the same please.
I can see what you mean re this car, having come up against you in it tonight - looks to be a tidy little racer

Hi Did to ever get answer about how it qualify this car.

Yes. You have to put between 8500 and 9000 miles on it to accumulate enough engine wear to degrade its performance (I misspoke with the 8000 number earlier). Now, I have no idea how to rack up that many miles in a short period of time.

6500km did the trick for me. As for the "how to rack up that many miles" part, 200 laps of the SSRX racks up more than 6000 kms with a lap time around 5'30" on a maxed out gsx. Be careful to turn fuel consumption and tire wear when racking up mileage online. The Ovals in test drive offline mode can be an alternative.

I've given up on running and Elise, or pretty much any mid engine car. I prefer a FF and like to see if I can be the first non-Elise. What is peeving me now is that some of these people seem to think they have to punt a little old Honda or Mitsu out of the way in order to pass. I was using an FTO last nite, and some of them weren't successful. Actually, a lot of them.

Then there's the GSX-R. How much fun can it be with a car that much faster?

Was that you in an MX5 (or Miata) yesterday too?

Thank you so much. See you at the races.

This weekend was horrible for me in the QM, I couldn't find a room with any clean drivers. However, this morning I had a few great races. Perhaps all of the kids are back in school.

I really wish that Gran Turismo had a driver rating system that could match drivers with similar racing skills and drivers who are compelled to lay on the horn for the entire race... 15 second penalty...

For the first time I've had a few races on quickmatch with clean racers!

It was great fun, and very close racing. Changed my opinion on QM. You just have to leave bad races and try for another... until you find the good bunch.
Agree, you do have to choose your races. Like you, I leave if there are too many dirty racers.

The Schwimmwagen's pretty dang quick for this event, I used one and hit top 5 in all of the clean races.

I run an Elise 11. The fastest time in the QM rice i can get is around 1:38+. Any suggestions.
What tune are you using? You should be able to run races between 4.51 and 4.55 in the Elise, depending on the number of cars in the race. If you have a good tune, then make sure that you are not overdriving - going into corners too deep on this track loses you a lot of time, remember slow in, fast out is best.

It is surprisingly fast - quite a shock when you look in the mirror and see one hanging on behind you!

I have tried with one, could get the handling sorted out alright, but struggled with the power delivery - found that it bogged down if I let the revs drop too much.
