GT Sport's FIA Championship Test Season Kicks Off Today

Can’t wait but the races are super late in North America on the east coast. The earliest is at 10 PM.

You’ll have a better chance to win if you stay up until 2 AM. (i.e. Don’t work or have a weird circadian rhythm) ;)

I raced the first manufacturer series race on Suzuka and then this happened to me:
Skip to 18:42 if you don't want to see my relaxed driving style.

I'm so furious I stopped for 2 hours,I was pumped as hell seeing the game showed all the racers one by one just before the race starts.

The music track after the disconnect is just ..... what should i say. A pity indeed

The fact they are daily races is a mistake in my opinion so I hope the actual season isn't like that. While I get only the best 3 count but loads of people will try to do every race which will just result in more incidents and some people playing an extreme amount of time which also isn't healthy. I certainly won't be and as I work in the week as well I'll personally just have to pick what I want to do.

I'm hoping in the future it's a race a week for each cup. If they were spread out say 1 on Tuesday 1 on Saturday (1 Nations and 1 Manufacturers) that would be good and would probably see the best and closest action as people could actually practice before hand! I mean we have daily races already if people wanted a race on a particular day.

Dude, that was harsh.

Question: Do you have to race the same time slot every day once you select it or can you pick a different slot each day?

I'm quite curious as why this doesn't seem to attract a lot of interest and comment, nothing much being said in the forums either, i would have thought people would be all over this.
The fixed setups and lack of fuel and tire wear are major turnoffs for me. I was expecting that these races would be more than just slightly longer daily races. As it stands, they require no more dedication than those events.

So I'm going to treat them as such- if I see a track that appeals to me, I'll race it. There is little incentive outside of that.

So is thefe others who have to race in the middle of the night? Or just eastern canada/us. First race is 10pm for me. Even later for people in atlantic time zones. Seems kinda messed up. I was really looking forward to this part of the game, not that i am a top dog or anything but still....

Now because i am an adult with a job on the eastern side of america i can't even give it proper attention. Even if i could stay up that late (i get up at 3am for work) i would be a disaster on the track due to tiredness.

6pm Pacific time = 9pm Eastern. So the races are 9pm-1am Eastern. Still, they’re rather on the late side.

So, are we racing people across the world or is it region locked?
Also, it's not just the fastest driver from the country that can compete? Who can actually join the races?

Actually it’s 10PM-2AM on the east coast tonight. Is it because of daylight saving time? Not sure if they change time on the west coast. I know some places don’t. I just checked on my PS4 to be sure and entry opens at 9:45 PM for the first race.

Why oh why did I resign with Nissan after I had an opportunity to pick another manufacturer?

PSA: The GT-R is dead. RIP.

You can race on different time slots on that particular day,for this first day in my region it starts from 4:00 to 8:00 PM local time.
Internet just went unusually bad today, few hours after that FAIL race I tried to do some Nations Cup going into free practice and then got disconnected right away,2nd attempt reconnected 1 minute later got disconnected again!
I missed the 8:00 PM Nations Cup,I'm done for today's session I'm so bummed out on the whole connection thing.
Did I mention my SR went from S to A just because I got disconnected!?

Everyone can join at first. How it works from there we don't know yet. I'm sure it'll eventually whittle down to the top players but I'm just speculating.

Well that's not the best of starts for PD and the FIA.

The fixed setups and lack of fuel and tire wear are major turnoffs for me.
Seriously!

I can (sort of) understand it for the daily races, but was expecting these (how naive of me) to be the full fat one, tyre wear, fuel use, full damage, set-ups, etc.

Its almost as if PD and the FIA have no experience running racing eSports series, oh wait they don't!

Come on PD/FIA bite the bullet and partner with someone like ESL, who have experience in these areas, particularly if they want to push this as a spectator sport as well.

Hopefully, the real season will have realistic tire wear and fuel usage.
I would hope but I'm not very optimistic- they already know how races work without tire wear. Now's the time to test and see how they work with it.

Glad I went with what I wanted rather than what was quickest.

I daily drive a Nissan Pulsar. I picked Nissan very specifically because I like the marque...

I feel annoyed that Nissan was viable with the GT-R and Schulze combo, but now the GT-R has been nerfed into the ground...

Yes, let's have some real racing. Tire wear, fuel, damage, tuning. Pit stops are part of racing and a key part. I have been in plenty of dialy races where the top qualifier is not a very good racer. The added pressure of race strategy will only make it more competitive and interesting, if this is to be an esport.

I drive an X-Trail but went for a motorsport manufacturer closer to my heart. To be fair the GT-R was overpowered and did need to be nerfed.

I said before release that the game would live and die by them getting the BOP right. Let’s hope they can.
