GT Sport's FIA Championship Test Season Kicks Off Today

So now the FIA GT AND daily races change every day? Can they keep something for a few days so people can practice and get better at it?? The races would be so much better if everyone had some race repetition for experience.

There are no races on Tuesday. Look at the in-game calender. The News on the official site is wrong.
I have it open right now. Nations and Manufacturers Cup events from the Sunday the 5th to Sunday the 12th with no events on Wednesday the 8th.

My point was that their scheduling is pathetic. Normally, maintenance and downtime is scheduled during the period of least activity, isn't it? And major events such as this would be scheduled at periods of high activity, right?
So how the **** did they come up with this schedule?

No the FIA races are the same everyday and you can enter them once daily. I guess you’ll have to set a new Q time every day.

So Suzuka and Yamagiwa this week and something else next week.

P7 in an A/S group:scared: It was very tight, 3 seconds at the end between P3 to P7 👍

Apparently points have different whight depending on your DR and SR.

964 points for me

I think the decision by PD / FIA to have tuning set to prohibited for the Nations Cup and the Manufacturer Series is a good decision. I noticed it just now that it said "Settings: Fixed".

I also noticed there is a prerequisite that says "Driver Rating limit: None."

This means there will be a limit to be able to enter a race in the future. But why have only a driver rating limit. Why not also a sportsmanship rating limit?

It would feel quite reassuring to know beforehand that only the clean drivers get to participate in this, however slow or fast they may be.

I am just gonna point this:from 1rst to last in 2 corners lol.3 people dive bomb me at the same corner and in the next one,one of them goes from outside line to inside where I am,puts me off track and in the back of the field. At the end those guys was typing how clean the race was.

The good thing is you can save the replay, upload the video and tag their PSN names on the YT Video.

I think the Gr.4 FIA nations race in Europe from 20h I was 8n crashed. Just when the race was supposed to start all other cars were standing still, after the 3 second auto drive countdown I could race but everyone else was standing still.

Edit- I cant re-enter for 21h anymore either, the game registered my participation so 0 points for that one...

FIA changes daily as well, you can look up the schedule in-game. For example nations:
4/11 Kyoto
5/11 blue moon
6/11 dragon Trail
Etc

I was surprised by the qualifying pre-race. I had a lap of 1:42:5xx and I couldn't do a proper qualifying with so many cars on track. I backed off to leave a pretty good space in front but on those S (after sector 2), 2 guys wen't off track and came to the racing line... I almost invalidated my lap by going with 2 wheels on the grass... :/ Oh, well I guess it was a decent first race. Started 6th and finished 5th. Tomorrow I'll try the GT by Citroen, as the guy who won was driving one of those. Got 1158 points but I have no idea how good that is.

I'm going for the Manufacturers race now.

PS: Congratz for the second place @MINKIHL 👍

Oh yes I just saw that. Sorry for the inaccurate post. Thanks!

Just tried my luck in the Manufacturer's Cup at Suzuka in Gr.3 and I must say I'm impressed. Very tight race and completely clean between everyone. The field consisted of C/A drivers exclusively. Qualified 2nd, challenged for the lead, had an off, dropped to 5th and worked my way up again into 2nd - great fun! And my SR got bumped up to S afterwards...

I think it's also a good decision to have fixed setups, so a) they should get a good idea where the BoP needs changing, and b) it's a driver's and not a tuning championship.👍

Did both rounds today. Won both, the Nations' Cup fairly comfortably, but had a brilliant fight in the Manufacturers' Cup with an Italian chap. Some brilliant racing thanks to the mechanical damage, people try not to crash and race very cleanly.

Did my race in the Nations Cup, qualified 1st, finished 1st by about 9 seconds and got fastest lap, with my total time within a few seconds of the top 10 guys, but only 492 points because I'm a B rank.

Now I can understand they don't want people to purposely lower their rank to get into easier races, but I think the points should have more emphasis on how fast you went than what rank you are.

It's so stupid that I only got 30 points less than the guy who's fastest in Europe on the leaderboards and set what was probably the fastest total race time in Europe, or near to it, yet we both only have a fraction of what higher ranked drivers get.

Well if you are that fast, why aren't you in a higher rank? I am pretty sure that's where you belong to and that's the purpose of the daily races.

Does no one else have this bug? Happened in my second race as well. At the start of the race all other cars stand idle on their starting places for the rolling start. And they are objects that can be hit. I raced this time (each lap avoiding the stationary car train) and I saw fastest lap updates on my screen from players who were standing still on my race, very weird. As if I as racing in an alternative reality. On my screen I was 1st but as soon as the player from the real race finishes the race I got the checkerd flag as well, eventually ending up 7th, not too bad with all that grid dodging I guess...

Overall VERY bugged experience so far... they better fix this.

💡 It seems they are making it so you must have a good amount of time invested in the game to get your rank up in order to have enough points to be a champion. Prevents the really good drivers from just parachuting in for a few races here or there and running off with championships.

Guys i won the Manufacturer Cup race at Suzuka.

But i got only 23 points? Can anyone explain why? I see one friend having 178 points?

I am D DR and S SR.

Did you race against the top 10 guys or drivers with times close to it? If you're B/S, maybe you were matched with other people B/S. Of course there can be aliens with B/S ratings but probably the field wasn't as strong, hence the point difference. I think you get points based on the overall DR/SR and skill of the people you race against.

I got 1158 for a 5th place in the Nations cup.

Just finished my Manuf. Cup race and it was a disaster. Qualified 11th with a lap time 2sec off what I though was my Qualy lap, set before the race (spun on my flying lap) and when I was 6th, I touched the grass with the rear wheel and went off track. Now, I let everyone pass and got to 15th position even though I could come back on track in 8th or 9th without a problem because I was ghosted. But guess what, the game doesn't care if you do that. Next time I'll just carry on and go back on track as if there were no one there... really a bummer. To top things off, A guy spun in front of me on the chicane and I got a 10 sec penalty even though I tried to avoid it. He just ghosted a split second after I got the penalty... lol. Great stuff.

In the end I got a red S and my DR progress went back again. Yay. Oh, and got 374 points...

Hi,

manufacturer cup tonight: qualified 12th, race 11th. 266 points (B/S), complete field was B/S only.

I'm only just in DR "B", so I'm happy with the result. Looking forward to the gt4@Interlagos tomorrow.

cheers,
D.

Damn. Was faster on my last qualifying lap by a few tenths and knew I had a few more on the table. Wish it didn't end as the time goes 0.

I'm also D/S and very newbie. I'm at the bottom of D/S (empty progress bar)

In the first race (nations cup) the grid was filled with D/S people. I finished ~17th and got 7 points
Second race (manufacturers) the grid was filled with A/A and B/A and a few D/S. I finished 15th and got 197 points

This tells me 2 things:
- the game 'splits' based on SR first, then DR. Bottom D/S (me) are matched with A/A when matchmaking. The game ranks D/S above A/A.
- When giving points, the game looks at the competition DR, not SR and finishing position.

The second race gave me more points but wasn't really fun. It was full of fast A/A guys and three guys trailing behind.

Well if you are that fast, why aren't you in a higher rank? I am pretty sure that's where you belong to and that's the purpose of the daily races.

A few reasons really, the main one is that my wheel broke about 5 days after release and I only got it fixed a couple of days ago, I'm also at Uni and play a few other games as well, so even in those 7 days I didn't have a whole lot of time to play. When I have been on, I've been working my way through single player to earn credits and cars, I've been practicing for a GTP series, but most of my time has been spent trying to get in the top 10 on the leaderboards and then doing the occasional sport mode race, which were hard to get into initially due to the servers disconnecting.

It's also worth noting that I've barely gained any rank the past 5 races, first one I noticed it was the last race before my wheel broke, so looks like I would had to have done a lot of races to get my rank up to A or S.
💡 It seems they are making it so you must have a good amount of time invested in the game to get your rank up in order to have enough points to be a champion. Prevents the really good drivers from just parachuting in for a few races here or there and running off with championships.

I can understand that to an extent, but I don't understand why there is such a huge emphasis on it, being 7 seconds faster over the course of a race and being fastest in Europe gains you 30 points, whereas being an A rank instead of B gains you nearly 1000 points. A championship run by the FIA shouldn't be rewarding people 100s of times more for having spent more time on the game than being fast.

I am B/S, I was comparing my total race time to other guys in TRL, mine was a 17:23 and they did 17:19 and 17:16. For that we got 492, 1447 and 525 points respectively. (7:16 was TRL_Lightning)
