No problem chuyler, it happens sometimes.

I love Eiger. It really makes for great racing in cars with short wheelbases, and perfectly stringing together the switchbacks is so satisfying.

How about an Evo vs STI night tonight at 500pp?

I probably won't be on tonight or Saturday night unless the wife goes to be early. Unless someone wants to propose a theme, it will be 450pp open selection. I'll need a volunteer to host the room at 9:30.

Schedule for Next week:
Sunday: 80's FR coupe night 450pp (no RUF, RS200, or 240RS)*
Monday: Rally Night 450pp? (2WD/4WD cars that allow dirt/snow tires -- but no stickered rally cars)
Tuesday: Muscle Car Night 500pp (60's and 70's American cars over 1400kg)
Wednesday: Nurburgring Night 450pp (German cars only)
Thursday: Rag Top Roadsters 450pp
Friday: Open 450pp
Saturday: Open 450pp

*FR Coupe Examples:
PIAZZA XE '81
RX-7 GT-LIMITED (FC, J) '85
SAVANNA RX-7 GT-Limited (FC) '85
300ZX 2seater (Z32) '89
Fairlady Z 300ZX (Z31) '83
CELICA XX 2800GT '81
COROLLA LEVIN GT-APEX (AE86) '83
SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX '83
SUPRA 3.0GT Turbo A '88
Not really coupes but may be acceptable:
SILVIA K's (S13) '88
SILVIA Q's (S13) '88
SKYLINE GTS-R (R31) '87
SKYLINE GTS-t Type M (R32) '89
Turbo Skylines are not allowed for same reason as 240RS and RS200.

I can host, unless someone more qualified wants to.

Actually probably better that someone else hosts. I'll just participate tonight.

I may be able to host it again tonight.

If you're running your Lemons to Lemans on wednesday, I will host 'Ring night (German Cars) - thinking dusk 'till dawn this time.... maybe... if nobody objects. :D

Yup. I'll update the first post with the schedule and who will be hosting. Grenade, I'm going to put you as the host on Friday/Saturday nights since I think you did that last week.

I'd say no to trucks on rally night.

Why aren't the S13s and RWD Skylines considered coupes? I'm pretty sure having two doors and a trunk is exactly what a coupe is.

nice to see the schedule for next week theme, need to set up one for the rally race. i probably race on Sunday. Have a LAN party at a friend's house tonight and tomorrow evening. 80's racenight for me this Sunday.

I always thought of a coupe as having a fast-back. Anyway, they can be used if you want. Just stay clear of the rally-bread cars like the ones that have "turbo" in the name. Those were built to race against the 240RS and will likely dominate the room if used. You can try them though...but I listed cars I thought would be close competition. If you have a car you are unsure of, just have a backup in case.

I suppose the Camaro and GNX are coupes too...they are just much larger than the ones I picked out and likely will be slower on most tracks.

I can't make this week. Friday or Saturday or Sunday. :(

Ok Sl3ight, you're the host for Friday and Saturday. I typically don't select the "fixed host" button. I'm not sure what that does anyway but thus far lag hasn't been an issue.

Apart from the license tests, I haven't driven any of the off-road tracks. I really can't say what is going to be good, but I think the Ram will likely end up being a bully on the track if others pick lighter cars.

I have only driven it on the Toscana time trial in the Seasonal Events, not against any other cars on the track at the same time. I was surprised at how well it handled the track.

But I can see how it could be a bully on the track.

selecting 'fixed host' means that if you (the host) leaves, the room shuts down. there's propably more to it than that.. but that's one effect.

i figured that was part of it, and since I leave around midnight i never select it in case others want to continue racing after I leave.

I always assumed if it's the regular hosting option, the game is hosted on Polyphony's dedicated servers so that the room can be transferred between players. If it's on "fixed host" then it's being hosted on one player's IP address.

Damn,

I missed you guys last night. Logged in too late and realised I had too many PP on my 207 anyway.

I'll look for you guys tonight.

you can always detune your car to get the pp you need with the power limiter.

i always overmod just a little, then detune.

Yup, as Rockin Stated, you can always add/remove parts from your car from the settings menu once you are in the room. To get the exact PP, you can select engine, then choose performance reduction. The slider acts as a restrictor plate and cuts the horse power of your car. If that isn't enough, you can select body, then choose ballast. Adding weight will also reduce the PP of your car.

I knew I could use these methods, its just that when I do so I always try to take a few test runs to confirm what the best method of lowering PP is for a particular car/track. In the case of the Pug I came to the conclusion that adding wejght is one of the better options.

Well we are constantly messing with our cars throughout the night. Best thing to do is join us and run what you got. Make changes as you go.

As you can see from the video on page 27, my Peugeot 106 was pretty competitive. I actually won a few races later in the evening.

Theres a chance that I might not be around tonight until later, forgot that I had plans with family. Someone else may need to host.
