if there is interest, i will host a 450pp/sport soft nurburgring night and post the room # here. all nurb, 2 laps or more.

we can have a theme - i was thinking german or euro cars only or leave it open.

Could we change Family night to Wagon/Truck night? We could add a theme night on another day, "Sedans from Japan" though we could just say any 4 door saloon car

LeMons to LeMans
Ok so tonight. For those interested, I am hosting a LEMONS to LEMANS series. You will have to email me your 30,000cr car by 5:00 today if you want to participate.

For those not interested in the series, esoxhntr has volunteered the following theme:
450 Performance Points
Sport Soft Tires
European Cars Only

Look for a room number to be posted in this thread.

Some photos from Muscle Car night. (Videos will be available when they are finished uploading)

Does the Focus ST count as European? I did pretty well with it the other day...

I actually think I may try the Mini again.

I would say no to the Focus ST.

RS200 on the other hand is a Cosworth... so I'm thinking maybe but I think for simplicity's sake we should go with whatever mygranturismo.net says and no Fords. :)

Videos from Rome Reverse last night. I tried to catch as much action as I could find. Looked like a great battle for 2nd/3rd through most of the race.

I wasn't being completely serious. I'm sure it could be argued, but I was being a bit cheeky.

I have plenty of hot hatches that I need to fine tune. Although, my collection of 450pp RWD European cars is slim. I think I have an Elise and the V6 Clio. Hopefully I can find a front driver that's competitive.

Yeah, I'd say your 4th was more solid than my 3rd. I had a fast car in the straights but couldn't for the life of me get the damn thing to turn.

The RUF BTR I usually run on this track has the exact opposite problem. It turns with even the slightest flick of the wheel.

Yes, it's

Euro Nurburgring Night

Race the 'ring all night.
PP 450
Sport Soft Tires

Bring your Alfas, BMWs, Lotus', VWs, Peugots, etc etc

room #: 1472 6118 3916 1736 5619

Looks like I wont be able to race tonight. Still battling Nat type 3. Nothing has worked thus far...so no public rooms for me unless it shows up on the list.

This is what I'm most interested in, but I'm not a really great driver, and I don't have many tuned up cars yet. Just how fantastic is everyone? LOL I don't have any problem with losing consistently, but I shouldn't like to be an annoyance to everyone. haha.

Also, I don't have a headset. And I'm female.

And I agree totally about the racing tires thing. I would never punt real people on purpose of course! My bf scolds me, cringes & yelps, when I rear-end AIs!!! But being a less than tidy driver (I'm a newbie to this), I do sometimes accidentally bump/scrape other cars, even though I try to never do so. This is usually not a problem on racing tires though. I also noticed in pub games I've tried that if it was restricted to sports tires, I was constantly having other drivers ramming me off the track... and worse, they'd punt me or bump me off the track (accidentally or sometimes I think on purpose), and then *I* would get the penalty!! This happened way less in races where racing tires were allowed because A) it would happen accidentally way less because people could control their cars better, and B) the on-purpose problem was lessened because even when someone would bump me, on racing tires, it was easier for me to not get thrown off the track in a soccer ball like trajectory.

Welcome watermelon, You are welcome to join us some night to see what it is like. We try our best to race clean without contact. The A.I. drivers in A-spec mode are very difficult to follow so using them as a reference point for your own driving isn't very accurate.

The important thing is that you a) are familiar with most tracks in the game and b) can jump in a car and find your way around the track, make a few tunes, then be ready to race. Read the GTP_OLR which is linked in the first post. It covers the basics on how to behave on the track.

I also suggest getting a bluetooth headset. It will add so much more enjoyment to the game if you are able to chat while driving.

Anyway, send me a friend invite so you can find the room.

Couple of pics from Nurburgring Euro night.

I guess a lot of you joined chuyler's other series so I think we had a fair amount of non-GTP people as far as I could tell - some had a hard time understanding the European flavour :D. I think the combo of Nurb & Sport Softs attracts a different kind of driver online. The dirty drivers shy'd away as it was fairly clean for the most part with a lot of exciting, close racing on the best track in the game. :D

Nic did not show.

I would not say there was a consensus top car. The Elise 190 did win one race in dominating fashion (I think the gap was 10 seconds after 2 laps and that was the largest margin of victory all night) but the driver is one of us self proclaimed 'ring rats that I see online on a regular basis. ie. Nic II

I remember the VWs winning, M3 and even the Renault Turbo 5 after I bumped him past the leader on the back straight. Right GrahamTursimo? :D

My garage (online) didn't show up either:crazy: 👎 only 30 cars or so vs 380 normally.

Do you mean when you showed up in Chulyer's room? I'm guessing because we were running the pre-race for the lemons to lemans series and the room settings were for comfort softs.

I'm not sure who hosted the 450s last night

nurbtaxi sometimes joins my room and runs an elise or an evora. He has beat us by 20+ seconds with boost on before.

I'm 100% sure this was because the restriction was comfort soft. Nic, I'm running a separate series on Wednesday nights so if you want to take part in the 450pp racing, check this thread for a room number instead of joining my room.

how'd you know it was nurbtaxi? :D

nic you can add my psn id: osprey73, i hosted last night and don't mind hosting the wednesday races.

It shouldn't be an issue if you know what track we're on for the night. I just searched for rooms with SRF off and filtered by Nürburgring, then you just gotta look for a room with 450PP in the title. I only had to refresh the list a couple times until I found the right room.

That's me in my LSB M3... keepin' it tidy. :sly:

I was really impressed with the guy in the yellow M3, he started last on the grid and made it all the way up to first with very clean driving and went on to take 2nd in that race.

Both of those guys in the Golf's were being pretty bumpy (the yellow R32 especially) and I got tapped a few time trying to make clean pass attempts. Disappointed in myself with all the contact (that mostly wasn't even my fault), I took the high road on the Karusell and slowed up to let the front half of the pack pass me... I then made all my clean passes on the straight and disappeared for a completely clean lap 2 to win with nearly a 10 second lead! :D:tup:

Was their a consensus top car from last night? (maybe the better question--What was Nic driving :sly:)
I rotated my cars pretty much for every race and won about half of them. I would say the M3 was the top car; based not only on my winning with it twice, but the other guy who ran the M3 (yellow one behind the Z4 in that picture) was also running up front as well. The Ring is where the M3 was born anyway, so it was absolutely perfect even completely stock. I have nothing on mine, no suspension or drivetrain mods at all... only restricted the power a bit to get it to fit 450.

I remember the VWs winning, M3 and even the Renault Turbo 5 after I bumped him past the leader on the back straight. Right GrahamTursimo? :D
That was my M3 in race 1, my Golf R32 in race 2 (444PP), and I would have had my 3rd win in a row had that Turbo 5 not completely destroyed me on the final straight (I thought I was out of draft range, but your bump fixed that). Race 4 was the best race for me by far, killer win for the M3 after you bumped it up to 2 laps. :D

Last week we did Rag Top Roadster night. I won't be able to join in until around 10:30. Is roadster night good or do you want a new theme?

Howdy! new to GT5 and just came across this thread, sounds like fun clean races. wanna join you guys! will send friend request tonight for chuyler1 and hopefully join you guys for the next race!

What do you guys think of doing an Evo vs STI night?

EDIT:

Nevermind, they're all over 450 lol. Unless you want to bump it up to 500 again like muscle car night.
