I haven't ran a race just for credits in weeks and I've never rubber-banded indy. I have a full roster of b-spec drivers that other people on my friends list run for me (I never asked...I just figured i'd throw them out there and see what happens). I make 1/2 a mil every few days which is plenty enough to purchase 2 or 3 cars for a given theme (plus my meger winnings from running races nightly). You don't have to do anything for this. Just go to your driver list, select a driver and enable the "share" icon. Once you do that, anyone can use your driver in a race. Max out your driver list and people will grab several of them when they race their own drivers.

I don't spend hours tuning cars for these races either. The stock custom suspension with a little camber and some rollbar tweeks is all I do these days. I've stopped buying the LSD unless I really like the car. I tune during the 20 minutes before the first race.

I do get a little bummed when it turns out that a few cars are much faster than others so I think from now on the restrictions will be much tighter. But even then, you notice that Nic changed cars midway through last night and was still quick. We should all watch his replays to learn the tracks because if you ask me, he's consistently the fastest driver in the room.

I'm just trying to mix things up to keep people interested. There are always going to be 2 or 3 drivers out front with fast cars...but the real action is in the middle of the pack. Some of my favorite races have been well earned 6th or 7th place finishes...or when Grenade says "watch and learn huyler" and promptly goes into the sand trap.

Just to clarify, I dont rubber band. Not sure if that was directed towards me or not, but I'm quite defensive if ever accused of improper money gaining tactics. Same reason I'm so passive in game...just like to avoid confrontation and accusation.

That same race, Grenade gave me the old watch this a shortly there after beached it. He did pass me on the last corner though in an interesting fashion. ghosting through me, both of us heading off and him able to get back on first

I wasn't implying nor was it directed at you....more toward Jimmy who joins us occasionally when he isn't busy glitching Nurburgring for cash.

Regarding mandatory pit stops...I wish there was a tire wear multiplyer or something. If we run 10 laps at Daytona, most drivers can make the entire race on one set of tires. If I were to force a mandatory pit, some people would just skip the pit stop to gain track position. Only when we run say 20 laps does a pit stop become important. I know the time we ran Nurburgring 4 laps, the leaders didn't go into the pits. I was so far behind i didn't bother to pit either.

I know my tires are usually at least half murdered by the end of our races, although it probably hass something to do with my driving style combined with my camber and toe settings. I tend to like a loose car. Even if it doesn't come down to tire degradation, it would be interesting to see how dealing with cold tires would play out.

Also, sorry for bumping you a couple times last night shark. My Leggy was fast as hell on Suzuka and I felt like that dive bomb down the inside into Spoon was my chance to get around.

Just my two cents, but I find the longer races more enjoyable for two reasons: most people won't try to win it in the first lap, and the tire wear/driving technique comes into play more.

I hope to join you guys tonight, but it will be after 10. I've tried getting in the last few nights, but the lobby fills up quick, and stays full!

Send me a message if you can't get in. If I have pubbers i will kick them for a GTP member that is on my friends list. I don't always see the messages popup (if i'm racing for example) but its worth a shot.

We should line up for a photo shoot tonight before the first race. Would be pretty sick with all the muscle cars.

Edit: Is that even possible? lol

Yes. Just have to start a race. Like 2 laps and everyone pic a spot. Then just take a pic from replay

Tonight is Muscle Car Night...

Restrictions:
500 performance points
1400kg minimum weight*
Sport Soft Tires (unless people lobby for comfort soft, grab both)

* I will cycle between the two restrictions before the start of the race. If you get removed from the track, it is because you are breaking one of the restrictions. Weight reduction is allowed, but you must remain above 1400kg.

Below are the allowed vehicles (correct me if I missed one):
Camaro SS '69 (1401kg)
Camaro Z28 '69 (1415kg)
Chevelle SS 454 '70 (1700kg)
Corvette Convertible (C3) '69 (1552kg)
Corvette Stingray L46 350 (C3) '69 (1490kg)
Challenger R/T '70 (1700kg)
Charger 440 R/T '70 (1650kg)
Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi '71 (1841)
Mustang Mach 1 '71 (1650kg)
Cougar XR-7 '67 (1480kg)
Cuda 440 Six Pack '71 (1576kg)
Superbird '70 (1755kg)
Tempest Le Mans GTO '64 (1420kg)

Cars that will NOT be allowed:
Corvette '60 (Art Morrison version is a modern-ized car)
Special '62 (everyone knows this car is quick)
Corvette Convertible (C1) '54 (too light)
Corvette Coupe (C2) '63 (too light)
1970 Ford Mustang Trans-Cammer (i think this is a tuner car)
Cobra 427 '66 (way too light)
GT350R '65 (too light)

What about the Dodge Challenger SRT8 '08 1524kg?

Hey guys Can i join you're series? Ive been looking for more and more racing challenges and Muscle is 1 i definately want to do ...

Ive prepped a C2 with added ballast (30kg) to make the weight grade. Chuyler1, sent you a message through PSN. If not cool I did also have a challenger that was bought for a seasonal event I just think we are going to end up with more than half challenger RT and Camaro Z28.

Where did you put the ballast.. there is a handy trick with the ballast on those RWD Muscles :P

Hi guys would love to race with you once in a while. Im in EU but have a good connection, so lag shouldenbt be a problem.

Although the timezone mostly will. Anyhow I send a friend request, as I work on shifts so sometimes I am awake in the midle of the night.

I'd say muscle car night was a success! I really enjoyed driving these cars...but I definitely need to spend some time tuning...or learning to drive such a heavy car. I like to trail brake and apparently you just can't be braking and turning at the same time in these cars. My car kept turning into a sled at Rome before the kink. No matter where I braked I couldn't get the car to turn in.

Laguna was fun. After Nic got around me I had to press hard and made way too many mistakes.

Rome was not so much fun, purely for my own reasons of not being a fan of that track in reverse but that's the way she goes.

Daytona road course would have been a good choice for these cars too I think.

yeah i enjoyed the 500pp muscle cars. i think the racing was cleaner too because they just move a little slower.

Rome forward can be just as tricky. Turn 2 (the first right hander) is completely blind. I had lots of trouble with that during the license tests. Then the kink is on a downhill and racers always come up from behind you. It's not as easy to make a pass on exit.

Yeah, cars definitely felt slower but required more attention. Better throttle modulation on exit to prevent spin-out. More accurate braking in a straight line. By the end of Laguna I think I was doing better, but since my tires got progressively worse it was hard to tell.

Next week we'll definitely hit up Daytona Road course. That was going to be my vote for my last race but Laguna was just as fun.

Rome was excellent. Great run out of that last corner Chulyer. I roasted my tires just catching up only to lose them almost instantly braking into that hard 90 on lap 14. I dont think I would have done nearly as good, had I not felt pressure from Leadbedr's orange car in my rearview from lap 3 to the finish. I was constantly checking my mirrors far too often to guage the distance between us.
PS: would love to get a replay of this one or at least some pics up here too anyone saved it

I'll get a replay of that. Not much action from my POV so I'll jump around to see where the battles were.

Anything going on tonight? I have the house to myself this evening so I'll be looking for some action.

I was trying to hard to catch you. I would get closer and spin, then fall back again.

I think it was the best night so far.
