Not my place, cause I'm not really part of this group. I've just driven in the room a couple of nights.

But... this is something that always bothers me. If you are behind someone, and they brake, the accident is your fault. If they brake too early, it doesn't matter. Never ever ever ever is it someone's fault for hitting the brakes.

If they brake too soon for the corner, then you have no excuse to lose to them. You wait for the next corner and take a wider line than you normally would. You let them brake, you pass on the outside, and you pull out of the corner and away.

If you rear end them, it is always your fault.

Well, if they brake on the straight with the intention of stuffing you, then yes, it is their fault. But no one is doing that.

This ^. OLR affirms what he just said.

Also. I am going to host a room tonight if chuyler doesn't get on. Just regular 450pp. No RM/tuner.

franky (AOK),

I watched your replay from the Madrid race. I would upload it for others to see but currently I'm having issues with Comcast upload speeds. You basically rammed every single car your passed. You need to cool it down, especially when you don't know the track. Your driving is too aggressive for this room. You need to read the GTP_OLR and practice following other cars without contact. This room is not about winning, it's about clean racing with as little contact as possible. That's not to say that contact will never happen, but you need to be aware that drivers in front of you are fighting for their position and don't appreciate getting rammed from behind over and over again. Learn to follow other drivers and brake without ramming or you are going to be removed from this room. I stress the word follow because that's what it takes to race clean. Follow a car for a few turns and wait for them to make a mistake or pass them on a straight. Even with boost off, the draft will give the following car enough advantage to overtake.

As for boost...I had it on for the jaunt in the rain on high speed ring. It should not have been on for deep forest. It compounds issues drivers have with "following". There was discussion about how boost gives you more/less grip. That isn't true...it gives you more speed depending on how far back you are. Each time you approach a turn, your braking point will be different depending on how far back you were when you started accelerating. As a result you enter turns too hot and run wide. Boost will be off from now on I think.

Then there is damage...When all drivers are clean, damage is lots of fun. A little suspension damage here or there. However I don't think the people in this room are quite ready for full damage. There are simply too many unnecessary pile ups caused by drivers that simply don't understand that there will be times when you have to lift off the gas and/or brake early when attempting to follow 15 other racers on the track.

FYI, tonight I suppose can be muscle car night. I won't be on. Sunday night will again be 80's night but I probably won't be joining you due to Comcast issues. They're supposed to come by on Monday to fix my modem.

I have to disagree with this statement. I tested this last night extensively. It absolutely gives you a ton more grip and I had to acceleration runs with people at various points in front of me and behind me. Every time, my time to 150 mph was the exact same regardless if I was 10,000 meters ahead or behind. But, the amount of G's I pulled in the corner went from 1-1.5 to off the chart (2.5+).

So just normal 450 pp tonight??
Any car besides tuners and RM's?

That's what I am going for.

Update: Server going up @ 7:45 central.

No rally. Just regular cars. No concept, RM/ race car/rally car/tuner etc. Regular cars.

I did a boost test aswell in a NASCAR room with an X2010 I lapped them 4 times and the nascars went from 43 seconds a lap to 41 seconds there was no change in speed only the grip changed.

Tonight was a better start. AOK an myself had a good first race. We passed each other a few times cleanly.
Doctor jones? or whatever is another story. This guy cant even manage to go in a straight line. How do I get taken out on the back straight at Tsubuka? Its a straight line.
I have no problems with the few bumps, but at least try and slow down BEFORE the corner.

AOK behind the wheel (sorry about the blur, my camera didn't focus right). I'm not really sure where to start. The video shows you going from about 15th place to 7th in 1 lap ramming about 7 cars in the process. That poor S2000 was hit 4 or 5 times. On lap two I have no idea what you were trying. The only thing I can think of is that you pulled the ebrake or something.

Are you going to tell me this is lag? Or are you going to blame the other drivers for braking?

I vote ban. This is like his 4th warning 👎

Anything going on tonight?

Just from last night I would say hold off on banning AOK. He raced pretty clean. At least when he was around me.

can I join up for tonight? My race league on sundays seems to be on a long hiatus. I'm not the fastest driver in the world, but I enjoy racing with other people and try to keep it as clean as I can...

Best of luck tonight new person...feel free to look back through the thread for people you might do well to avoid on the track.

appreciate the advice, i need to spend some time tuning though first i think. what track is tonight? anything official?

bring 450pp cars of the nights theme, this is 80s night i think

usually u friend request chuyler to find the room, its been private lately since theres been much interest

Good racing tonight, fellas. I was honestly surprised that the 80s Lamborghini Countach was able to keep pace with the HP neutered, on Cote d'Azur and other tracks. Good times.

Had to leave early last night, pretty good racing though. My BTRs tires couldn't last the distance though.

I'd like to see a little more time between races, or some kind of warning as to when they'll start. I got left out of one changing some setup options and didn't get a good flying lap in on a couple others.

I entered one race with comfort softs. When we switched from rain to I presume fixed 'sunny' my default settings returned. I got about 5 sec out of the pit when the race starting counting down. Had no time to change. I think 8-10 minutes from race end to race start is sufficient.

Sorry about the quick starts guys. I will give a 2-min warning next time. I usually do that over the mic but for some reason my mic works for a few races then stops. In the future though, plan for 3-5 warm up laps (5-10 minutes). That's enough time to run a lap, make a tweak, and run 2 more laps. If my mic stops working, I'll use the auto-start timer or type a warning message. I thought I had checked each race to make sure everyone was in.

Boy, that was some intense racing last night from my seat. I switched up my car several times to put me at different places in the 16 car pack. However, I usually ended up battling with the same people.

I had enough car at Nurb GP/F but when my tires went from full tread to 90% tread it was like a switch. The next turn I went wide and got stuck in the sand trap for 20 seconds. I battled back several positions though and my heart was pounding at the end. I guess the RUF BTR/Yellowbird will do that to ya.

Clean racing all around. I'm impressed everyone was able to run 2-wide through the entire Tsukuba course. That was pretty sweet. I had to record the video because there was tons of action on the track. I was in a pack of about 4-5 cars juggling position for several laps.

Part 1: mostly my laps with some tight battles

Part 2: some more of my laps + brandofo and leadbedr battling for 5th.
Plus A miraculous save by me trying to get around sl3ightaru (who obviously ran out of tire)

vids from the only race I missed :(
The racing was the cleanest yet. I too switched several times, but found myself 2 or closer positions from shark, twitch and rockin

My story last night: Get a 2nd or 3rd place qualifying, get to 1st or hold 2nd for half the first lap, get bumped out or make a mistake and fight my way back from last to 4th or 5th. And my mic was randomly working also, i don't know if it was my mic or GT5 malfunction.

For some reason my qualifying laps weren't counting. I kept starting at the back of the pack even though I'm sure I had good laps. I got the pole on Nurb but I beached the RUF which had me battling you. I enjoy a good battle over winning any day.

I'm confused about my mic as well. It works fine for the first race or two then I feel like people start ignoring me. I turn it off/on over and over again and doesn't seem to work. After a while I get tired of saying "can you hear me now?".

Yeah chuyler, sorry about knocking you while coming back onto the track. The tires on that thing completely went away in the last 3 laps.

Is tonight family car night? What counts as a family car?

No problem, I knew it was gonna happen so i went as wide as possible. I figured the only reason Booch and I caught up was because you had no tires left. I'm just amazed I kept it together and pulled off that 4-wheel drift into the corner. whew!

Yes, family car night. Station Wagons and Minivans. Car must have 4 doors and a hatch.

We can debate what qualifies as a family car. Personally, I would not lug children around in a Impreza WRX...but I do know there is a Legacy Wagon that could be used instead. Does the legacy have a 3rd row of seats? Maybe seating for 6-7 is the requirement.
