SimonKYou can't base it on that alone, for example the smaller PS One was released four months AFTER the PS2.
Agreed, that super slim looks like a do or die option for 'none' ps3 owners to finally get a console at a lower cost and lower quality (that sliding tray will break in under 6 months if used alot) so to ask 2 years of it seems a bit much. And with developers that are months in to development of next gen games waiting in the wings for a couple of years. If ps4 isnt announced, and even xbox, at E3 2013 for 2014 release, i'd be well surprised. The first slim was to correct a few issues with the fat (heat, power consumption etc)

Im not basing it on that alone. There is lots of evidence that GT6 will be a PS3 game.
Sony continues to maintain that the PS3 will have a ten year life span.

When asked if there would be a GT6 Kaz said this:
Yes. You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5. GT5 was basically the creation of a whole new operating system, and developing GT6 will be like adding new applications that run on that new operating system.

GT6 is based on GT5 which is a PS3 game. It will run on the GT5 system like kaz said. It will have enough tracks to make your hat fall off and have lots of new apps.
I believe one of those new applications is the Toyota 86 data logger which they have already said will be released in 2013.

GT7 will come out on the PS4 and they will have to start from scratch just like they did with GT5.
There really isn't.There is lots of evidence that GT6 will be a PS3 game.
This. Derserves a
/thread.
Can't believe this crap thread is STILL going on, especially considering that opening post.
Just because it "may" have a 10 year life span doesn't mean it can't overlap with the PS4's. It's likely to come out before the 10 years are up. I'm sure the point I just made has been made before, hence why the thread is still going on...
All there is are credible reasons why GT6 could be on either platform, with Kaz and Yoshida providing contradictory statements about GT6.
I have yet to see any credible evidence of this.
The PS3 superslim coming out does not mean the PS4 won't be coming out on time or is delayed in any way.
Each Playstation console has had a 10 year life cycle and each one of them has had a new console released during that time frame.
This news does not make GT6 on PS3 more or less likely.
I personally am sure it is on PS3 but we will all have to wait and see.
Seems you know a little history, here is some more. Each GT game has had two releases on each console. Most people on here seem to like the even numbered releases better.
I can't wait for all those new tracks in GT6 to knock my hat off.
Again, I think what kaz said is the most reliable source.

GT6 is GT5 on steroids - it's gonna knock your hat off!
Kaz says a lot of things that don't come true. That statement was a long time ago.
Don't get me wrong I want GT6 to be a PS3 game but as every day passes it becomes less and less likely.
Agreed if they dont announce something soon then we will all have to accept that it will be on ps4 perhaps.

one of my freinds is an xbox fan and we had a discussion about forza 4 and gt5. we have both played both games and like them both and we were wondering what if the team for forza and the team for gran turismo put thier heads together and came up with a driving sim game would it be any better with both caractistics in one game or would it spoil it. and i do hope gt6 will offer more racing events and customisation and more ai difficulty and better online mode.
Don't think so. If they need help they hire programmers that can do the job. But it is perhaps time to focus the games in some direction. They cant be to general with all cars but no racing. So i wish they focused more on the racing part of the game and cut out all other not necessary stuff.
So id rather see a GT game that is cut up. Like Formula GT, Rally GT, Road GT, GT GT, and so on...one platform but different games.
I think there is a market for all and with focusing on each types racingfeel, regulations, tracks that would be a great game of games.
