I heard the PS4 will be £199 and will have down scaled graphics

You can't base it on that alone, for example the smaller PS One was released four months AFTER the PS2.

Agreed, that super slim looks like a do or die option for 'none' ps3 owners to finally get a console at a lower cost and lower quality (that sliding tray will break in under 6 months if used alot) so to ask 2 years of it seems a bit much. And with developers that are months in to development of next gen games waiting in the wings for a couple of years. If ps4 isnt announced, and even xbox, at E3 2013 for 2014 release, i'd be well surprised. The first slim was to correct a few issues with the fat (heat, power consumption etc)

I would say with complete confidence that both consoles will be here by no later than December 2014.

Well, if Xbox goes out first and Forza is there at start it might be a hard choice not to follow...lets hope Sony is giving us a great surprise soon with PS4 specs, date and that GT6 is a launchgame...id pay easy 700$ for a ps4 if it lasts 10 years.
Since dollar is cheap now even 800$ is ok.

Well if you're slamming it open and closed then yeah it will break.

I’m not basing it on that alone. There is lots of evidence that GT6 will be a PS3 game.

Sony continues to maintain that the PS3 will have a ten year life span.

When asked if there would be a GT6 Kaz said this:

“Yes. You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5. GT5 was basically the creation of a whole new operating system, and developing GT6 will be like adding new applications that run on that new operating system.”

GT6 is based on GT5 which is a PS3 game. It will run on the GT5 system like kaz said. It will have enough tracks to make your hat fall off and have lots of new apps.
I believe one of those new applications is the Toyota 86 data logger which they have already said will be released in 2013.

GT7 will come out on the PS4 and they will have to start from scratch just like they did with GT5.

This. Derserves a

Can't believe this crap thread is STILL going on, especially considering that opening post.

Just because it "may" have a 10 year life span doesn't mean it can't overlap with the PS4's. It's likely to come out before the 10 years are up. I'm sure the point I just made has been made before, hence why the thread is still going on...

So Ordonez lost his hat while checking out GT6 on a PS4 prototype? I Kind of doubt it.

All there is are credible reasons why GT6 could be on either platform, with Kaz and Yoshida providing contradictory statements about GT6.

I have yet to see any credible evidence of this.

Of what? Kaz's and Yoshida's contradictory statements? It's easy.

One minute the wait for GT6 won't take as long, the next minute Kaz doesn't even know if GT6 will be on PS3.

One minute PD's next project is still only in concepting, and will take a few years., the next minute we'll all supposedly be finding out about PD's next project "soon".

All against a backdrop of Kaz looking at new technology.

There's no evidence of anything. We can all build credible reasons why GT6 will be on either PS3 or PS4, but there's no concrete evidence either way.

The PS3 superslim coming out does not mean the PS4 won't be coming out on time or is delayed in any way.

Each Playstation console has had a 10 year life cycle and each one of them has had a new console released during that time frame.

This news does not make GT6 on PS3 more or less likely.

I personally am sure it is on PS3 but we will all have to wait and see.

@Deep Sky. Kaz not knowing what platform the game is coming out on is sad.

Gives the impression that planning and strategy is up in the air. TBH I think it's getting to big for him. Too many variables, too little forward thinking.

Seems you know a little history, here is some more. Each GT game has had two releases on each console. Most people on here seem to like the even numbered releases better.
I can't wait for all those new tracks in GT6 to knock my hat off. :)

I don't think that really matters. Yes, there were two main GT games per console but that's not an indication that it will continue that way, because there a lot of factors that influence that. I'd say that's been more of a coincidence than PD deliberately deciding two make to games per console.

Again, I think what kaz said is the most reliable source.

GT6 is GT5 on steroids - it's gonna knock your hat off!

Kaz says a lot of things that don't come true. That statement was a long time ago.

Don't get me wrong I want GT6 to be a PS3 game but as every day passes it becomes less and less likely.

Agreed if they dont announce something soon then we will all have to accept that it will be on ps4 perhaps.

Same, i for one think there is a need in GT6 for PS3 but gut feeling sees it on 4. This update Means that not all resources is on GT6 yet which to me says there not quite ready to let GT5 go yet. Its not like they wont sell alot on the PS3 but if PS4 is announced before release then might put a few people off (unless released on both consoles like alot of Ps3 first games that also came out on PS2)

I'd say they are working flat out on GT6 and that's why DLC has been lacking recently.

I still remain sure GT6 will be on the PS3.

I just wish they would confirm something.

Please don’t get me wrong either, I want GT6 to be a PS4 title also. I just don’t see it happening.

Kaz speaks of new technology. This Toyota 86 Data Logger is a big deal. They have said it will be released in 2013. I really doubt that this will merely come as an update to a nearly three year old racing game. No this will be a bullet point in the list of features in GT6.

The release of the new versions of GT5 is that game's last gasp of revenue raising for PD and within six months you will be able to find them in the bargain bin.

I truly believe that GT6 will be out in time for Christmas 2013. And I for one can’t wait to get my hat knocked off.

one of my freinds is an xbox fan and we had a discussion about forza 4 and gt5. we have both played both games and like them both and we were wondering what if the team for forza and the team for gran turismo put thier heads together and came up with a driving sim game would it be any better with both caractistics in one game or would it spoil it. and i do hope gt6 will offer more racing events and customisation and more ai difficulty and better online mode.

Don't think so. If they need help they hire programmers that can do the job. But it is perhaps time to focus the games in some direction. They cant be to general with all cars but no racing. So i wish they focused more on the racing part of the game and cut out all other not necessary stuff.
So id rather see a GT game that is cut up. Like Formula GT, Rally GT, Road GT, GT GT, and so on...one platform but different games.
I think there is a market for all and with focusing on each types racingfeel, regulations, tracks that would be a great game of games.

In this way I would quit Gran Turismo it's not a game just about racing man and it never has been.

Well wait that statement doesn't sound right, but it's about driving the way I see GT is a game about driving the car you do in daily life, but on a course something you might not be able to do in real life all the time.

I do like Rallying and all the other stuff etc etc, but at the same token that would get on my nerves after awhile. Sometimes I want to go to Tokyo just to drive not race.

That's probably one reason they want to do a C-spec or Free Roam right now.
