Indeed. I mean there is still a tiny chance it's a PS3 game but if it is they need to announce it on their own steam by the end of the year at the very latest. I still think TGS was the deadline though personally, it was the perfect time to announce it if it was happening.

Any possible chance of a private event in the coming days, as they did at Gamescom (3-4 years ago)?

I really sound desperate now.

I'm totally with you on the desperation but I just don't see it happening. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Sony releasing a new slimmer slim. Looking more and more like a PS3 release to me.

Even so, a GT6 releasing in 2013 is slimmer as well. That means, a GT6 may release at least by 2014 if not 2013, and by then the PS4 will probably be out. PD releasing GT6 for the PS3 when the PS4 is already out, is rather odd.

In an even more crazy situation, we might see next gen consoles from MS or Sony for as early as next year, as in fall of 2013.

They did release GT2 after the next generation of console gaming had already started, the Dreamcast had already come out, I had one, and the PS2 was only months away.

So it is still perfectly possible for this to be a PS3 game.

If we're going to be technical, then the Wii U will be releasing this fall, so your point would be true. However, GT is Sony's game, and when GT2 released, the PS2 wasn't out yet.

But same situation with PS4, we don't expect PS4 before xmas 2013 and GT6 can be released in summer\ autumn 2013 on PS3.

Yep, but now the problem is that we're less than a year away from Summer/Autumn of 2013, and we haven't heard anything about the game yet. TGS was the deal breaker for some of us, and I hope I'm wrong.

It's also unusual for them (and any other developer for that matter) to officially announce a major game, in this case GT6, within a half year of its release.

Don't forget that it's also possible that next gen might arrive next year. We may not expect it, but it could happen.

It really it depends on when the PS4 is officially announced and if we get a proper release date.

Don't expect that to be too soon though. If the 3DS and Vita are not selling as well as either Nintendo or Sony wants, I'd say they will wait to see what happens to the Wii U.

If it falls below expectations, we could be seeing the end of dedicated console gaming as we know it until the current economic mess sorts itself out.

Well, exactly. Everything is all speculation really. We can only reason.

Also, I think Sony is more worried about when MS will release theirs, because I doubt they're willing to set back for a whole year again behind the Xbox. Nintendo already have plans to release the Wii U this fall, so I don't think the sales of their portables will affect too much on their console releases.

Really? I hope you were drunk or so...or do you really jump on that "teh industry is doooooomed" train? As if they would be helding back consoles, for which games are in development for months already...

The same could be said regarding consoles. There has been NO announcement from Sony regarding the PS4.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that PC gaming was dead I would be driving a Ferrari 458 Italia, for real, not just in GT5 :sly:

The PS4 will release when the hardware is ready and not a moment sooner.

I'm not sure where you're coming from, or if you understood my post, but I never said there was an announcement regarding the PS4, so I'm well aware of that.

Like I said on my quoted post, it doesn't happen too often that a game gets release within half a year of its announcement, but a hardware has. Again, just because I said it doesn't happen too often, doesn't mean that I think it won't happen.

Sony continues to stick by their ten year commitment to the PS3.

They have said that Gran Turismo’s “Data Logger” for the Toyota 86 will be released in 2013. I don’t think this will merely be an update for GT5.

That data logger thing is one of my clinging hopes. It would make sense to introduce such feature in a new game, rather than GT5 itself, considering that they can lure those who want such feature to buy GT6. Plus, it would have more use in GT6, if it's going to have more real life tracks. It won't be much use in GT5 imo.

As for their 10 year commitment, it doesn't mean that they're going to wait 10 full years till they release the PS4, if that's what you're implying.

I feel kind of bad for the people that expected new information from the TGS. It was the last date this year where it was realistic to get any news on GT6. It is always sad, when you wait for a big announcement from a show and nothing comes out. But I expected it would be like this, because neither Gamescom or E3 showed anything GT related.

The next time we hear from GT6 might be through the E3 2013. And then it looks really like a PS4 release. I think it will be good that way, because GT5 is still really great for this gen and could only be upgraded with more content and gameplay elements. So, a full release on the PS4 with the hopefully more power under the hood, would be more interesting in my eyes.

And for those that think that the new PS3 slim means that it will last longer this gen are right and wrong. The same happened with the PS2. Even just before the PS3 launched they still updated the PS2 slim and they even sell the PS2 till today. I think its their thing to change and update the Playstation Slim now before releasing their next console. It happened with the PS1 as with the PS2. But the PS3 will still be sold way into the lifecycle of the PS4.

My opinion:

PS4 released in 2013 = GT6 on PS4. Not sure about a launch title. Maybe ~1 year post-PS4 release. Roughly Q4, 2014.

PS4 released in 2014 = GT6 on PS3. Released Q4 2013/Q1, 2014.

I think your post above is a little dodgy, logic wise. Just on the basis of it, I'd put it like this:

PS4 released in 2013 = GT6 on PS4. Not sure about a launch title. Maybe ~1 year post-PS4 release. Roughly Q4, 2014.

PS4 released in 2014 = GT6 on PS4. Launch title or some months thereafter.
PS4 is going to have a huge power advantage over PS3. It will be easy for SONY devs to produce content for, since the key developers are involved in designing the architecture, OS and toolkits. Why on earth would you want a GT6 which is essentially the same thing as GT5 somewhat updated? You can "somewhat update" GT5 with patches already.

This is why I see GT6 as a PS4 title.

I don't want a new GT for the PS3, tbh.
I want it for the next-gen PS with magnificent leap.

I assume the PS4 will be released in 2015

NAAAH. GT6 totally needs to be on the PS3. For all we know the PS4 will propably cost up to $800 or $1000, knowing Sony. XD Hahaha.
