6/20/12 - A-Spec: 530PP 4WD Challenge

I just did a few races with the Audi Le Mans Quatro '03 with the power limit all the way to 50% with Twin-plat clutch, Semi-Racing Flywheel and Carbon drive shaft.

but it took me like 7 tries on the Capering until i memorize the best ways too make all the turns right and what place i should be in before the 3rd lap.

I used a stock Acura DN-X (aka Honda Dualnote) and won each race easily. I'm going to try using the power limiter to get more cr. Because the DN-X has about 420pp without modifications.

Did it with a detuned Lamborghini Gallardo. Final race took me a couple tries so try that last one with a lighter car.

I ran this a few times, and I found that the most annoying race is Cape Ring, especially if the MNP GT-R R34 is on pole.

Couldn't do it in the Lancia against it, was only able to win that one with the SpecV Academy detuned to 520 PP.

If you were using my Lancia tune, it is specifically tuned for Sarthe at that pp, at cape ring I used a de-tuned Aventador.

R8 4.2 at 500pp

I tried the Audi R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic '07 at 490PP but I placed +7.253 in 2nd place. It might be possible at 490 with a better driver, but its certainly possible to place first @495PP.

@516PP I was only able to win by about (-)1.5XX on the Sarthe circuit. How low were you able to take it before you started losing? My winnings were only around 650,000 CR with a PDA of 150,000 CR.

I just had a bone stock Gallardo and turned the power limiter down until it was right at 530PP. I also changed the traction control to 1 instead of 5.

I was winning by a lot at 512pp in the R8 at Laguna using clutch and gated shifter (slower).. so yup I'm thinking it could go lower pp. I think it was around 370hp. Actually I can't remember now.

AI are so slow in corners, and give up and slam on brakes if you get any where near them. I just wish we could use AI from arcade mode on level 10.

I was running at 329HP/1560kg/8900RPM so I may need to up the Power/weight ratio if I want to win at this PP.

If you aren't bothered by corner cutting, you can win at La Sarthe somewhat comfortably with 445PP for about 1.1M credits/race. You can go even lower if you block really well. That's too much work for me though when it comes to grinding, so I stick with 440PP range.

Thanks, but I prefer to stay on the track.

What car are you using? o_o

I've been using the 22b Impreza. Have stage 1 engine and reduction as well as racing tranny tuned to 300mph top speed, suspension, car slammed. Car is 517/8pp. Pretty good for La Sarthe grinding, but I find that it's a bit to slidy for the corners as you come back into the Bugatti circuit. Any tips to help me improve the tune?

A Subaru Legacy '98 tuned up to 460pp can easily win Cape Ring with GTA'12 style driving.

It's amazing how much this car feels like my rl Legacy (- the extra hp) now that I'm using a DFGT.

The Evo VII RS is an awesome car. I ran it fully stock except for BB 6/4 and won easily Cape Ring and Toscano last night. Think it's around 478 pp stock.

Ran a couple Audi's from the OCD for LaSarthe. The S4 and RS6 will win with minor power upgrades-air filter and/or sport exhaust BB 6/4. They have nice top end speed.

I like to challenge myself with no suspension/lsd tuning or serious power upgrades. BB adjustment only as 5/5 just isn't correct anyway. ABS 1 only aid allowed. Only clean laps like was mentioned with WRS and GTA style driving. You get to know the cars much better stock.

Makes it much more interesting if you don't allow yourself to touch the AI. You have to plan your passing moves and work your way through the moving chicanes. 2 wheels on track at all times-no contact with walls. Certainly not the way to go if you want quick cash, I've restarted LOTS of races but so satisfying when you get it right!

Use an R8.. Seriously though, that 228 is fun but it slides a lot. I guess you could raise and soften suspension a little and relax diffs a little, but add front and rear camber until balanced mid corner. It'll stilll slllide.

I use the R8 specifically because it corners very well, with little sliding. 👍

Bye Ya
I've been using the Audi R8 4.2 FSI R tronic ’07. Maximum ballast, no aero, and I set the power limiter so the car equals 440PP.

Thanks, I think I'll give this a go haha.
Did you adjust the transmission at all?

I went through this with a Lancer Evo X. I didn't add anything to the engine, just weight, transmission, and suspension adjustments. It totalled to 507pp so I got a decent differential bonus. The only track that gave me a little trouble was Circuit de la Sarthe but getting through that was as simple as adjusting my transmission so I was faster in the straights. Glad I got my Escudo now!

Yeah, I set the top speed too low overall and then just adjusted the 6th gear to account for the long straights.

Thanks, I'll be trying this out then. 👍

But can it beat the 2m+ on FF Challenge Cape Ring? Let me know how much you get :]!

Subaru Impreza xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on La Sarthe (I'm a corner/chicane-cutting champ) with just 417pp...1,462,331 at 130%.

22B, what car is it? Ford? Toyota? what?

Hang your head in shame young man - 22B Subaru Impreza - quite a nice little car.

It's the greatest (ltd. ed.) subbie ever made.

That's mad, as I just did La Sarthe in a GTO Twin Turbo '96 415pp & at 200% & still only got 1,345.214cr. I can never work out this Performance Difference thing lol

[EDIT]...I just did it again in a Celica GT-Four (st205)'98 again at 200% this time at 410pp & still only got 1,382.124cr... I just don't know.

I do the La Sarthe Grind with my trusty

R32, purchased at NCD.

I set power limit at 89.9. Roughly 289hp. (450pp)...thinking about lowering to 445pp

Finish with roughly 15-19 sec lead, about 1.068 per race/ 8.58 total.

Mods:
6 Speed Short Ratio Transmission
Racing Suspension (Lowered -1/-2)
Front / Side Aerodynamics
FC LSD
Double Clutch
Sport Flywheel
Carbon Shaft

I win with ease...

I used the Impreza Spec C from the NCD only bolt ons with a sport muffler, no weight reduction just the windows and the chassis reinforcement, only had to do Laguna and Tokyo twice cause I had two bad laps but always won them with ease.
