6 star ticket from the Mazda event gives an engine swap!

Nope, that's a negative. Just tested it by reclaiming my 4⭐ & 6⭐ tickets 3X each and got the same prize every time, even though the reward/s may change each time you reclaim it. Interestingly enough, only the 4⭐ ticket rewards changed, whereas the 6⭐ ticket remained the same every time. So yeah, PD are STILL using the roulette wheel as a facade.
PS. His game glitched out too.
Ah yep, that makes more sense. I was slightly stunned that the game was returning different roulette results on a reboot - that's never happened before. I'm now crossing my fingers for my game to glitch out too...

BMW Z4 GT3 engine.
I got the same one. Does anyone know if this can be swapped into anything? Or is it just merely a replacement engine strictly for the z4 gt3? If the latter, that's a nice kick in the groin. My other 4 star ticket from the new menu books gave me a 5000 credit non special camshaft (pure garbage). And for the past few weeks every day I've gotten between 2k-10k credits from the daily marathon tickets (pure garbage). Very disappointing when there are tons and tons of special parts and engine swaps locked behind them.

Seemingly the 2003 M3.

This.
I got a boring engine for the GTR Nismo 17
Isn't that the engine that can go in the Lancia Delta, the 300ZX (Fairlady) and 180SX (Type X) ?! Those are all fairly mad swaps.

Ideally you would be presented a list of cars that are viable for the swap instead of making the player try each car after the next.
Yeah, I find it ridiculous that we have to check every car one by one to see what is compatible with what. There should be a list "compatible with". Especially that they tend to add new compatible cars to some engines with updates.

Ya my fault, I just looked in the engine swap thread and saw that. Should've done that first, lol.

Edit: just tested to see if it would, yes it fits the 2003 bmw m3.
I got the same one, checked the swap thread, and was immediately disappointed that my bmw engine can only go in another bmw. Where’s the gun in that?

I got an engine swap that it said is compatible with the '15 Mustang. So does that mean it's actually a '15 Mustang engine and I'd have to go through all my cars to see what it can be put into? Crazy.

Edit: Okay, so I see there's a pinned engine swap thread, so when it says it's compatible with a '15 Mustang, what it means is it's from a '15 Mustang, and the thread tells me it can only go into a '71 Mustang. Not sure I'll find a huge amount of use for that.....

It comes from the '15 Mustang, so it can go into the '15 Mustang as a replacement engine if the engine in your '15 Mustang gets used enough to need replacing (it happens, but you'll be pretty much driving nothing else for weeks). It can also go in the '71 Mustang as an upgrade - arguably a much more useful way of using the part, but not necessarily something you're likely to use a lot, unfortunately. It seems a number of the engine swaps aren't overly useful (ie. 1000+ hp in an S13 Silvia is not a useful car...)

I think I got something useful...

The answer to your question can probably be found here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gran-turismo-7-engine-swap-compatibility-list.405033/

There was a guy who won a 6-Star (Parts) ticket in the Daily Marathon.

So yes, we now have among top tier tickets:

  • Guaranteed money/high end car (regular 6-Star)
  • Guaranteed rare part (6-Star Parts)
  • Guaranteed engne swap (6-Star Engine)

This is a cool fix, because the previous situation was ridiculous. If you were lucky enough to get a 6-Star, you'd only get money or a car... which could be a rare car from an invite, but most of the time it wasn't. Now it's possible to get tickets with Parts and Engines.

And I wouldn't be surprised if PD added one or more of these every month.

There is a way to earn more engine swaps. DM me
Y'all don't know... 👀
Talking about it openly won't get it patched quicker; literally everything you do is logged, and PD is likely already aware of the fact that people have suddenly started getting hold of dozens of new engines...

It's highly unlikely to merit an expedited patch, so it'll be fixed in the next update either way.

I know but at the same time with how stingy the roulette has been I can understand people not wanting this bug taken away so fast. People are thirsting for engine swaps. They got to get them in while they can 😂

Probably true but it adds to the fun

So tickets comes in various hidden flavors, then...

Possibly...

If you remember the first 6* ticket that you're awarded for completing the original menu books, that ticket is guaranteed to be a high value car from a small pool/selection of cars. That shows that PD have the ability to set specific tickets up. This Engine ticket could easily be another variation of the 6* menu ticket in being a 1-off predetermined ticket, and from now on we're back to RNG on the roulette.

However, if PD have decided to add specific tickets for parts/engines, I'd like to know how they've implemented it.

As there are a few theories on how the awards work, but the most prevalent theories revolve around the idea that the award is assigned to the ticket prior to opening at random, and the other items on the carousel can't be won, wouldn't that mean that if the game has assigned you an engine, it may just display the ticket as an engine ticket before opening, which would also mean chances of winning an engine randomly haven't actually increased?

As @Famine says, PD are probably well aware of whatever this “bug” is, so you may as well share with the class!

Problem is risking a ban if everything is logged.
