600PP Italian Non-Racing Car Super Lap: Ascari Full Track [OLD]

I must be a horrible driver... :( I tried my Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Chrome and was only able to achieve Bronze (2:25). So, I purchased a FXX and tuned it as indicated earlier and could not get past the 3rd last turn as I kept sliding off the track (waste of 2M+). So, I searched for a tune for my LP 640 and I was only able to shave 3 seconds off my original time (2:22). UGH... I only can seem to get silver on the new 500pp time trial and only bronze on this one. :(

UPDATE: I tried m Aventador LP 700-4 '11 and I was able to get my time down to 2:19 but nothing quicker. The car seemed to start sliding more and more after achieving this time. Corners I took at a certain speed I could no longer hold. *SIGH*... Done for the day.. Maybe another day but I'm not optimistic with these challenges.. :(
I know that feeling bro, people here say that an event is "easy to gold" then you try and.. You aren't able to do it! I used the driving line and the Aventador chrome line to get a 2:19. I should be able to get to 2:15, but haven't played for a few days.. Used this tune, just need to use less elaboration parts so you can stay under 600pp https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/lamborghini-murcielago-lp640-chrome-line-617-pp.302167/

Tried the FXX and was very disappointed in not being able to complete a lap, after lap after lap. Then finally decided to keep going even though my time would not count. I got a time of 2:16 and decided to slow down and be sure to make a clean lap. My first clean lap was also at 2:16 or close to it. Then, in a second of two straight laps I hit 2:14.85. Then turned the PS3 off. That was enough :D

There is one thing I learned about driving the Lamborghini Murcielago SV that I didn't do while driving the Aventador and I'm sure this had something to do with 2.5s falling off my best lap time with minimal effort. There are many times where you will be braking when coming into a turn and you're car will start understeering a bit. In fact, if you keep your foot on the brake you will end up sliding off the track. It's natural to feel like you need to keep braking because you feel the car headed to the edge of the track, but the key is to get your foot off the brake and let the car's considerable grip pull you safely around the turn.

In some case, depending on your speed, applying some throttle is actually preferable. Again, it doesn't feel like the right thing to do, but it is. Of course, you have to figure out when is the appropriate time to get off the brake. You can't just tap the brake and expect to carry 100mph around some corners. It will take a little bit of practice to feel comfortable with this, but it will improve your lap time if you're having trouble getting Gold.

...the Lambo should be a easy gold for everybody.

^^ this...

Here's my lap with Murciélago, and my tune (if anyone wants to try it)...

Hey @SilverSE102 I had another go with the Lamborghini Avenador LP 700-4 '11 and did a time of 2:08.785, and there is still room for improvement :). Yesterday I made to many mistakes, today only a few mistakes.
Cool, 👍 I'm glad you're doing better. For me I might have to switch cars, I'm going to keep trying. I need to start getting more wheel time.

Thanks @ALB123 and @stelio for the words of encouragement and advice. I do typically race with the assists on (usually just ABS 1, TCS 1 and Active Steering set to Mild) but it also depends on the tires and car. I've never really been able to get the hang of drifting and pretty much don't bother with it. I'll keep trying when I have the chance. :)

I can't drift at all either. I attempted one of the drifting events this week because I am so bored with the game (the lack of fresh seasonal events is making the boredom a lot worse). It was probably the first drifting event I've attempted in about one year. I could only manage Silver in the 30 minutes or so I put into the event. I'm terrible at drifting. Oh well. I think it's stupid anyway, so I don't really care. Like I said, if I weren't so absolutely bored with GT6, I wouldn't have even considered attempting the event. Good luck! 👍

Don't understand, why "everybody" of the top-Drivers is using the FXX here, whereas the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce '09 is
1.) (much) faster and
2.) much easier to handle!
So if this is an advantage to me, being a mediocre driver, I wouldn't want to know what the Top 10 could do with this car!?

If the top drivers are using it's likely to be (much) faster. Just needs a tune that's all

I've tried the zonda, a Gallardo and the super Veloce, still need to find a second somewhere. The Gallardo seems like a decent tune would make it happen, anyone have a link to one?

I can't believe these cars really under steer so badly in real life...

I'm sure the manufacturers are intentionally making these cars understeer because look at who buys Lamborghinis and Ferraris these days. Movie stars. Professional Athletes. Posers who just want to be seen driving a Lambo but have no idea how to drive. Now, they can all end up wrapped around a telephone pole and possibly dead, or the cars can be made considerably easier to drive for the customer base that they have now. Before anyone jumps in to tell me how their favorite athlete knows how to drive, I get it. Not all movie stars and professional athletes are posing behind the wheel of a Ferrari, but many, many are. This is just my theory. When your customers die driving your cars, it's bad for business.

The Top 10 players won't get any faster with the Lambo, because they have the skill to drive the FXX.

My times:
FXX --> 2:04,1xx
LP 670-4 SV --> 2:04,7xx
Aventador --> 2:04,8xx
Lancia Delta --> 2:14,9xx :D

Edit:

Managed a 2:03,989 with the Murcielago LP 670-4 SV '09 for 17th place.
The FXX still can do better but with the X-button my throttle control is to bad.

I also tested the Gallardo, but it is to slippery due to the low downforce, only got a 2:06,7xx.

Here's my lap with Murciélago, and my tune (if anyone wants to try it)...

Managed a 207.681 for 273rd with this tune after only 4 laps, previously had a 208.249 with the FXX. More control here and I can see low 207's for my driving style without putting in crazy amounts of seat time. Otherwise if I ivvest the time I can see mid to high 206's... Great Tune !! Thanks @Ed_Night & @petaloudas

Update - 207.319 for 222nd

Ran it with full weight reduction, custom transmission and suspension, no power parts (595pp).
Used suspension settings from https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ascari-full-track.334283/page-2#post-10974270 @Ed_Night on the SV, spent first 3 laps overdriving it. Eased back a little for my last attempt and flew past the FXX that was at the top of my friends list exiting the downhill right hander after the first chicane.
Very nice drive around Ascari.

I purchased my 3rd Murcielago SV in Nero Aldebaran as well. It looks gorgeous in just about any color! There is no question that the @Ed_Night tune is wonderful for Ascari, but even better, I have found that the tune is also suited very well to the Nordschleife with minimal adjustments (Final Gear). It will forever be known as my "Ed Night Murcielago SV" because the tune is a keeper. :D 👍

I don't think there is any question that the Ferrari FXX is the fastest car for this event, but I don't think that it is necessarily the car for everyone, even if you can achieve Gold with the Lambo Murcielago SV. It is an absolute beast, especially on Sport Hard tires. I was very surprised to see that the FXX was available for this event, but then I remembered it is classified as a regular road car in GT6.

Down to 2.05.751 with the lambo sv and @Ed_Night 's tune. A very well balanced car that rotates nicely through the slow stuff, something that's helped me is to keep on the gas and not to 'coast' on the slower corners, let the front wheels drag you out. May sound simple but really helped me!

Edit: just realised I've used 115 downforce on the rear, will now try 120!

Edit: 2.05.403 with higher downforce

I agree, this tune clicked with me instantly. After a lap or 2, I matched my aventador time with very little effort. I managed a 2:09.690, with a little more practice I know I can shave another 1-3 seconds off. I haven't given up on the aventador yet, going to try again tomorrow.

I used the Lamborghini Aventador for my run. I had a LOT of DQ'ed attempts. I was having a hell of a time judging turn-in points and kept sliding thru corners into the grass/gravel. I used @Ridox2JZGTE Aventador Replica tune, but threw on some weight reduction to get me right at 600PP for this event. I barely beat the Gold time, but it still counts! :D

I tried the same tune but was only able to get my 2:18.9 downl to 2:18.3 (just noticed I mistyped 2:13.3 instead of 2:18.3) after 30 minutes. I'll have to try the SV next with @Ed_Night's tune.

I see a lot of players have problems to get gold here.

Got over 10 seconds under the gold time with the FXX and the Murcielago LP 670-4
SuperVeloce '09 with DS3 and ABS: 1 only.
The FXX is defenetly nothing for the average driver, but the Lambo should be a
easy gold for everybody.

👍 Very good tune!

Improved my time by 3 seconds... :)

I tried the same tune but was only able to get my 2:18.9 downl to 2:13.3 after 30 minutes. I'll have to try the SV next with @Ed_Night's tune.

Purchased the LP 670-4 SV '09 and used @Ed_Night's tune. The first lap wasn't good as I slid off. On lap #1 I achieved silver @ 2:17:09 and on LAP 4 I almost got Gold @ 2:15:735. Sweet tune Ed, thanks. Need to clean up a couple of corners and I think I can finally get gold.. :)

I'm just having the hardest time with this one. The other time trial I only had to drive couple laps to gold with untuned car but this one.... I know part of my problem is that I'm playing with (old) DS3 controller so controls aren't as precise.I just keep either cutting too far in the grass going through chicanes or sliding off the track in faster curves.

Its funny that most of the people who said this is an easy event are the same one who said the 700pp events on Nurburgring and Sierra are impossible. My experience so far has been completely opposite. I had very little problems with the 700pp events, this one took me 3 hours with the same car(SV), still could not break the 2:16 barrier.

I guess it comes down to comfort zones and driving style. 700pp cars aren't supposed to be drifting through the turns but 500pp FR with comfort tires is going to do some of that no matter what and I find that fun and easy.

I done a 1:10.439 using a wheel, and this tune below may get you in the low 1:09 if you get it right, and thanks to @SilverSE102 for this tune 👍.

FINALLY!! Here's a DS3 tune for everybody:

Lamborghini Aventador
Suspension = stock
Racing brakes = 4/3
Transmission = full custom set at 180 with no other changes
Diff = stock
Triple clutch
Carbon driveshaft
Center diff upgrade but unchanged
No power changes
Weight reduction 3
Carbon Hood
Window weight reduction
28kg added at -50

Mine ended up 600pp@690hp 1288kg@45/55 distribution

TCS = 5
ABS = 1
Controller steering sensitiviy = 3

Car is actually pretty balanced for a modern Lambo. I'm sure you could do the suspension and the diff to make it much better, but it got gold with a 2:14.517 and I'M OUT!
I've used this with TC off to get gold. Thanks!
