60s/70s NASCAR Series

Ok so far all practice n testing is done. Last few weekends I have held open lobby for this and all of you have sat in for a few races. Just remember you will need several tunes for this series. I have 4 cars all tune accordingly. One is my daytona/indy car, another is a road tune, a gravel tune and a short track tune. If you have not made these tunes you will have very little time on race days to practice on track. So you might want to get those figured out on your own. I will be on during the week to hold late night sessions. If you choose to join me I can switch over to a gravel track or a short track. I generally need to work on a solid tune for indy and something to overcome tire wear at daytona. I had originally wrote out rules for pits to open after lap 20 but this seems near impossible for a lot of guys. I will update schedule, rules and roster. This up coming friday night will be last practice to do final testing. And saturday we will kick this off. Thanks guys for your time and involvment! And feel free to invite any of your friends to this as it is casual and there are only a few official open spots left.
 
Quick question, lets take a little poll here...just reply your answer.

Should we bump up the race time from 2pm cdt to 4pm cdt?? Or does this not matter??
 
Oh and another bump in the road........Sunday is Fathers day. So instead of 2pm cdt I think we will bump the time to 7pm cdt. Does that work?
 
Change of Regulations (not posted in OP) - no pit windows at Indy or Daytona as for tire wear is real touchy and I don't think everyone can gaurantee a lasting tires. And as per the rules in the OP none of us would be eligible for the win. So pits will be open the whole race. But we will still follow caution rules and mandatory pit rules (reforming and going in together to pit at established laps).

NOTE

I posted later in the thread I was going to remove pit windows. As I was testing and there's no competitive way to hold a solid pit strategy. A hand full of guys could make it to lap 25. But others and I just couldn't get tunes to save tires past lap 18. I think it's because I'm using the Cougar and it has no aerodynamics. And since I'm the host and I can't even follow my own goofy rules, I decided to dump the pit windows. I'll still call cautions after 10 laps and allow a free pass. And after testing in open lobby there's no way we can have a solid race with racing hard tires at Daytona, too much tire wear and cars get too loose in turns and get too much into each other. The rules I created were made when PS3 was down and I was testing in practice mode. I'm soon to revise the regulations by the end of this week.

And check 2 posts up, as the roster has grown. I have been recruiting and scouting new and good racers.

*Based off the looks of that.....we should have 8 racers for sure this weekend. And I think thats good enough for quality racing. But I would definitely like to see a full field!

EDIT: 7 confirmed for Friday night exhibition, 10 confirmed for Saturday afternoon & 8 confirmed for Sunday depending on 7pm cdt time shift due to Father's Day.

Thanks for who participated last night. I anticipated Friday nights not being so hot. And abetterplaya's connection broke :( But today I do, I hope we get a full lobby with this. Last night Kalimiya received 7 pts for Short Track & 4 for Daytona. Dowhat13 received 4pts for Short Track & 1pt for Daytona. Crazy_bassist received 3 pts for Short Track & 4pts for Daytona. And gorgamite received 1 point for both Short Track & Daytona. Still plenty of points to be received!!! Standings are also posted a few posts above.

This afternoon will consist of 2 short track races for points & 2 races @ Indy for points. Then a 5 lap qualifying race. Followed by the 30 lap main event at Daytona. Tonite's main event winner will receive prizes!!! Prizes to be awarded are: (1) car valued up to 1M credits & (5) paint chips of your choice!!

Hurray for storms and power outage. Not to mention spinning out to avoid a car.

I had started going down the bank and saw the green car come up fast and i swerved to not hit his corner, causing myself to spin out.

When I was trying to catch up the power got knocked off and on a few times causing me to reset the system. I just kinda decided I would just go do some various projects instead of coming back.
 
Kalimiya- Thanks for not causing a major wreck & keeping it contained to yourself. I think I'll start enforcing caution rules from now on. Other than that too bad for the power outage. A few of us had to pit and the pack got split up so u would have definitly had a chance.

And congratulations to dowhat13 for winning Daytona today!
