Here is one of my better tunes for this event.

Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd '05 (700PP RH)

Got easy gold with the Puegot Vision car, a low 32. Then went to the spec class 2X and went 5 seconds faster first lap.

Boring trying to nurse a silent car you can't tune around the track and brake correctly so it doesn't miss the turn completely, yet it has a ton of steering once it slows? I see some people using traction control 5 on the 2X, lol. This is the only 700pp(detuned) car that doesn't need traction aids for me.

Only way it could be worse is if the GSXR4 is needed for the other seasonal....wait, uh oh....

The propulsion in the 2X is like a jet engine so there's nothing driving the wheels, hence it doesn't have a use for TC. Even though it says 5 it means nothing.

I thought it was odd, the 2X car never gets loose on acceleration. Turbine, jet or some type of magnetic propulsion?
But keep seeing high TC settings.
Probably people left it from their last Schwimwagen race? ...Combined with PD not worried about an accurate display of the settings any more than they are about two cars that can't be bought being the fastest used in their seasonals.

I know the replay has a little delay on the HUD, so of you are looking at that red indicator for the brakes, that might be why you cant get it to stop in time.:)

No idea about the manual transmission though...
That would nearly explain why when I tried the same thing with Beau's replay at Bathurst and didn't look like stopping or turning, mind you I also arrived at the corners a lot slower then him. Lol

Is it funny to say im stuggling to get under a 1:25?
This is why i hate the 2X car feels so terrible
Give your Joystick a change. Maybe it helps. This is not a steer event, I think this is faster with a stick. No gears and a couple sharp turns. Or try it with the 2J?

Mazda 787 Stealth 1:29.3 but needs a tune on it, more fun (if you listen carefully you can hear an internal combustion engine) than the 2J Hoover.
Only 2 seconds slower than my 2J ghost, may try the PeskyCar and everything else before going to the ChapStick again just because its Monza.
Does the FXX go in this category?

Nope I think the FXX is a ''normal'' car. Anyway, This challange can get with many cars gold i think. Maybe a junior red bull can get gold here?

I tried the FF Nismo car, but came up .8 seconds short of gold. Gave it about 6 laps and my cleanest was close but no cigar.

The 905b does it easy.

@UpTopLog ...hi! If you are using manual befor you enter this event with 2x then the leaderboards will show manual becouse you can't change transmission in options..

This one's got my number. feel like i'm driving on ice. Probably because i decided it was rubbish from the start. Just cant get into 1.23 territory must have had more red laps than clean one's.

1 out 10 of my laps in this event have been clean: saying that the 2X is frustrating is an understatement.

But I hate PD's interpretation of track boundaries here far more than I do driving this car.

I like the 2X for what it means to me rather than how it drives.

I've dreamed of becoming connected to a car through the driving experience to the point that everything feels right; everything flows. This sparks thoughts of grounded flight. When I start up the 2X, I feel as if I am stepping into that dream, and the future. A future that is still full of creativity, imagination and possibilities.

I am disappointed that the 2X embodies this, yet the driving experience falls short. The speeds are high, car communication with the driver is minimal, the margin for error is tiny, and grass is death.

I've broken into the 1:24s. I would like to get 1:23s by the end of this. Good job to everybody in this thread. Only here can I get to the top 300 and still feel slow. Good driving everyone. :gtpflag:

Nice!!👍
I think i can make a low 23, Or maybe with a very good lap a 22.

Maybe another 2/10th's at best i think. Getting to the final turn ahead, but getting in and out onto the straight costing me.

Q: Are the top guys using handbrake because watching replays it looks like they are, or, is using the handbrake a help or hindrance??

I agree with what you are saying except this part. I find the exact opposite with the grass/gravel, this car keeps it's speed even when off the track so I find it a lot more forgiving in that respect. Also if you can get used to the handbrake, it'll save you in a lot of corners if you go in too fast.

I think when I go in tonight I'll try upping the brake bias, don't even remember right now if you are able to, lol. If you can it should work like a hand brake, but more controllable once dialed in.

Hmmmm

Updated: It was slower to use extreme brake bias. Improved my lap with it at 9/10 and abs 5. I had tried all the way down to 3/10 and abs 1, but it slowed so poorly I had to brake much later and it still wouldn't turn in.
Got down to a 1.25.41x though.
