Well if it's at 8 you miss the whole of Top gear anyway. But anyway i'm not gonna start it at 7, it was only a suggestion as it might be mildly more convenient for me but I wouldn't bother if it meant Pipeslice couldn't come.

Haha, I thought that if he couldn't come it would make things easier for you ;)

I will be there tonight.

I am doing mid 1:44s on Prime compound. The car setup I have feels great, but I feel like I need to shave some more time off.

Well I've been working all week for a friend and haven't long got home. Only had 5 laps of practice all week and that was wednesday so Im not expecting much, my only problem is Im absolutely knackered so don't know if I can physically race tonight, I'll try my best though and let you all know if I won't be there

Wow, binned my car at the exact same high-speed kink to the right during both qualy and about 5 laps into the race.

Good riddance to both the real and virtual Valencia circuits!

Hope the rest of the race is decent for everyone. First corner seemed nice and clean but after that I saw pure chaos unfolding in front of my Lotus and just tried to avoid all the spins.

Well a great qualifying but a disaster of a race! Just managed to **** about everything up and some online lag at the start meant I was in last by the first corner, oh well Silverstone awaits.

Well done better than I expected considering hardly any practice and burning eyes that just kept watering hahaha.

I did piss alot of people off though I think especially Tom who my car seemed to be attracted to with the amount of times I hit him. Sorry Tom, and sorry Dark (I think it was you) when you lapped me you came speeding through the cornerso I dived into the next one just to avoid you coming flying around the outside of me and you ended up wide and off the track but luckly kept going.

Apart from those incidents and twice smashing into the same barrier and both times loosing my front wing completely. I did have moments where I was putting in some decent laps. Maybe the tiredness helped me get in the zone quicker haha

not happy with my qualyfing because I could have easily done pole position
best start you can have from P4 to P1
than after a few mistaks I dropped down to P4 again but with only 5 sec behind P1!
I started to close down the gap to shaggy and tried to pass him but I couldn´t
finally when I passed him my pedals were sliding away and I couldn´t make to corner
so I lost about 5 sec and wasn´t able to close it down again
P3 is good but I could have won it :(

meh, not my best race

Qualified 5th with a PB 1:39.2. This included crashing into the wall at turn 13 - I guess I could have done a 1:38 if I hadn't have done that.

My race was just frustrating - I was very conservative into turn 2 and Ardius got ahead of me into turn 4. Then at turn 8 I got bumped wide losing further time. To top it all off on lap two or three I spun into a wall damaging my front wing at turn 16, this allowed Ken to get in front of me.

I closed on Ken, who was driving very well it has to be said, but I was very impatient and tried to force my way through which wasn't working. I actually spun you twice I think - once at turn 4-5 where your line surprised me and once at turn 16 I think where I simply outbraked myself (lost loads of time waiting for Ken, especially at turn 16 where you needed to do 3 point turns). Eventually I got by after you went wide somewhere. Sorry for punting you.

Once I got past Ken I realised that I was 20 seconds behind Ardius... UGH, I was 40 seconds behind the leaders too :( Anyway, I set about trying to catch Ardius and was doing so. He actually pit quite early and we came out at the same time, though he went wide into turn 2 and I managed to edge ahead of him. I pitted the next lap.

I can't remember when I caught up but it took me about 10-15 laps maybe, can't remember. We had quite a few close laps and he was holding me off well but eventually he oversteered out of turn 16 I think and I managed to pass. After I made this pass I just lost my motivation to drive knowing that I had no chance to get further up the field. This loss of focus actually made me cut a corner and gave me a 10 second penalty, so if Ardius hadn't destroyed his vehicle he probably would have beat me in the end. Especially considering I had completely ran out of fuel 1/3 into the final lap.

Kind of frustrating really, because I showed a lot of progress last week and I was never really in a position to get involved with the leaders this time round. Seemed like a lot of fun up there.

Just a quick report.
Qualifying
Yeah really annoyed with qually I just could not get it together, practice in the week I was quick but it just wasn't meant to be.i managed second.
Race
Got a good start but going into turn one I'm not sure if I got hit from behind or what but the car would not stop so I had to bail out and go straight on into the runoff area, and then do a complete u turn to the left which put me last about 18 seconds off the lead.i spent the next 9 laps getting back to 4th I then pitted, when i came out i was in third.i kept an eye on my distance between myself and shaggy and i was catching fairly quickly i think he might have been on cruise but then he made a mistake and i was now in second only 2seconds behind darkpsi.i was slowing catching darkpsi and got the gap down to a second i think after several laps of really pushing him,but then would you believe it i got a punture,by the time i got back to the pits and out again i was 42 seconds behind the lead.so now it was just a case of passing the finish line in 4th place ,i was not a very happy man,a race being taken away cause of a punture.

Pretty pleased with my performance today. Qualified 8th with a personal best time, couldn't ask for much more in that session.

I was behind Tom on the grid, when the race started, the lights shut off and Tom didn't move, somehow these 50 year old reflexes managed to miss him, one spot picked up. I was hanging pretty well with the pack and somehow slipped up to sixth, tucked behind Internet_User. I carried a little more speed into turn 8 than he did, but was nowhere near an overtake position, I thought I was clear, but did just nudge (not tap Tom) his right rear and spun him. Sorry Internet_User, my bad. I slowed and he made it past me in turn 9, race back on. Pipeslice slipped through the mess I made, back down to seventh. I followed Internet_User down to turn 17 with Mike hot on my heels, wow being in a race is so much fun :)

The next lap Mike dropped back and I just tried to keep pace with Internet_User, into turn 17 he made a mistake and I jumped up to sixth. Then the biggest mistake I made, late brake into turn 2, damaged the wing, here we go again. I really didn't want to pit on lap 3, thought I'd check the handling out first before deciding on stopping or not. Next thing I know I'm on top of Ardius and someone else going in to turn 17, this can't be, me catching people, my guess is they had a little incident ;)

The handling felt ok, not a drastic loss of downforce so I stayed out and manage to stay relatively in touch with them. But by now, Internet_User was back. Made a poor attempt at turn 17, more than one really as the race footage will show. Internet_User was getting ready to overtake, very soon. I put a few good corners together and managed to stay in front for a lap or two.

On lap six Internet_User spun me in turn 5 and I made a mess out of trying to get pointed in the right direction. Internet_User waited for me, thank you sir! But now I'd held him up even more, sorry. I knew he had more pace than me, but I was still on the lead lap and fighting for position, I really appreciated you doing that! I caught him in turn 8, race back on! My second mistake in turn 17 and he finally got by me, much to his relief I'm sure :)

Now I notice Ali on the mini map and I say to myself, next battle here we come! Unfortunately it never materialized :( Was looking forward to it. I drive the next couple of laps pretty sloppily, especially turns 12 and 17, Internet_User pitted on lap 9, I'd set to pit on 10, so I picked up one spot, for the time being. Pit stop came and the boys blew away Schumi's pit stop, swapped the tires and nose in 6.3 seconds, 1.7 seconds faster thean the Mercedes team ;) Back to 7th.

The rest of the race was fairly uneventful, I started to put some decent laps together and managed to stay on the lead lap until the 26th.

Started 8th, finished 6th!

Slowly getting comfortable and by listening to you and racing your ghosts, I'm gaining 'some' pace! Truly enjoyed the day, cheers!

The lap 1 video is uploaded, I'll have the other videos up later.

I'm pretty gutted after today, it could have been much more. It makes it worse to read that Mutu ran out of fuel at the end of the race.

Qualifying went ok, I wasn't too fussed about putting my best ever lap so I chose to run several laps with a fair bit of fuel (6 or so laps worth) and really just prepare for the race instead. I started the session with a 2 lap run to try and do a decent time and broke my wing so this is why I instead chose to run as many laps as possible. As such, I wasn't completely disappointed with 7th though I knew a better lap could have put me 6th or 5th. I was on a slightly better lap at the end - I can't remember if it was better in the end.

My race start was fantastic, yet again. I easily shot past Tombrooks who didn't even appear to move forwards and I was already on the inside of Mutu going into turn 1/2. I fairly easily outbraked him and avoided hitting the cars ahead and made up a further place thanks to pipeslice being hit or spinning off. I was then directly behind DarkPSI who was fighting with Shaggy and I very nearly punted one of them clean off which put me slightly wide in turn 4 and held up Mutu a little. I was then right on DarkPSI's tail for the rest of the lap with clean air behind after Mutu also spun. At this point I couldn't believe my luck (and my great start!), running 4th already and keeping up with the frontrunners.

It didn't last for long and I gradually fell back. I was happy to though really, the gap behind was so big I was under little pressure really and was pretty happy to run my own race to 5th place even if I was 4th currently I knew pipeslice and maybe Mutu would catch me up. And so they did, first pipeslice caught me and managed to pass me into turn 12, I tried to take a defensive line as he was on the outside but he sneakily popped back to the inside and made it just through the gap between me and the wall. Very ballsy move 👍. I then followed him through the next few corners and unfortunately tapped him around when he oversteered in front of me. I waited and let him back past so no harm done.

I was then caught by Mutu a few laps later and we duelled for several laps, at one point I felt he was far enough behind that I could take the ordinary racing line and he lunged unexpectedly resulting in contact. But he waited and let me back past so again no harm done. 👍 I can't remember which way around it went but I pitted on lap 8 after my tyres started to go (planned stop was lap 9 so not too bad) and came out side-by-side with Mutu. I late-braked into turn 2 but this gave Mutu the run around the outside of turn 3 and he got ahead. At this point I knew I had a pit stop in hand and decided to try and do my best to harry him into a mistake or something, it wasn't really a big deal to try and get back ahead but I had a look anyway. He then pitted and left me alone again in 5th.

Pretty much the rest of the race was running around trying to keep a consistent pace, ignoring distractions in my house and watching the gap to Mutu. Once again we had a long duel and I had learned from my moves with pipeslice to defend much more aggressively into turn 12 (and elsewhere). I eventually lost the car a little with oversteer though and Mutu got past. A few more moments with the car sliding and I was 10 seconds or so down from Mutu. At this point I decided to try and get back to my consistent pace and see if I could catch him back up, I knew my pace wasn't too far off his and I could at least match it if I concentrated. I was starting to catch him with the gap down to 3 seconds when I made a simple and stupid error on lap 25 or so. I turned in a little too early for turn 14 and just tagged the inside wall with my wheel enough to destroy my car. I was/am gutted, the race had been great till this point and I was sure I could have made the ground up with the 4 remaining laps.

I want to moan how this game is so unforgiving with such small tags of the wall or barriers but really its my own fault for totalling the car at the end of the day. F1:CE was no more forgiving either.

Overall I'm happy with how the race went, its just the result turned sour. I feel I've still got the right balance of consistencey and caution..its just I still make some silly little mistakes. Maybe I'm still learning to increase my consistencey to more than 20 laps, as this was how long the old F1:CE races were and if this race had finished on lap 20 I would have finished a lot better. Perhaps I need to start practicing long race distances more often and nail my long-running consistencey and get rid of the mistakes.

Qualified: 7th Started: 7th
Finished: 9th (DNF)
Average race laptime: 1'41.xxx
Biggest mistake: Demolishing the car at turn 14, lap 25 of a 29 lap race. Totally gutted.
Favourite moment: Fantastic start, battling for positions over several laps with pipeslice and Mutu.

yeah sorry about all that Ken, I drove terribly today. From the video it looks like I'm lagging a bit too.

No worries at all, it was fun battling and racing stuff happens 👍

I only noticed the lag on the first lap. After that it seemed fine to me. Not sure about the rest of the race, after you passed me, you left me in the dust!

Now I notice Ali on the mini map and I say to myself, next battle here we come! Unfortunately it never materialized :( Was looking forward to it.

Same here Ken after my pretty dreadful first few laps I got into a little rhythm and was surprised I caught up with you you were on a stormer the whole race!

Our battles are becomming a common occurence so I was looking forward to it 👍, but then I went straight into the barrier on turns 18 to 19, which I seemed to becoming more and more slippy, maybe with the car getting lighter from fuel. So I had to pit, Then hopeing that my early pit would allow me to catch back up to you or even pass you when you pitted went down the drain when I went straight into the exact same barrier a few laps later haha. Ah well well done anyway you finished over a minute infront of me. Btw did you notice our qualifying times you beat me by 0.001 👍

That's too bad, it's pretty easy to do on Valencia. I met with the walls many times during the week of practice :) And more than once heard the, 'You okay mate? That was a pretty big hit ...' line!

Btw did you notice our qualifying times you beat me by 0.001 👍

I did see that, too close!

Shaggy, I 'might' be able to get you a higher definition video of that lap if you can't make out what was happening there.
Although it sounds as if the explanation is acceptable.

Thanks Ken for the videos, they're great as ever. There's no need for the hi-res vid of the first lap unless you want to. It's clear from watching it (if it wasn't already) that Dark was unfairly penalised. I've updated the tables and i'll post my race report when I can.

Just a quick post to wish you all well for Silverstone - surely one of the best circuits in the game. Good luck. I will be in Germany for the weekend.

I will see you all at Hockenheim - hopefully I won't have punished myself with too much German beer!
