Here's the Deltawing crash video for those wondering :(

Pause that video at 1'01. Nakajima's sight is blocked by the Audi and obviously his focus is entirely on the the Audi.
After 1'01 the DeltaWing is in the Toyota's blind spot as Nakajima cannot look to his right..not to mention he is busy trying to chase the Audi.

Racing incident in my opinion. An unfortunate result of heavy traffic and these closed-roof LMPs having very little visibility.

Altough I'll agree with everyone thatr has said that the interest in this race has dropped a lot; Audi will win easily.

Oh yeah, by that logic i assume you want that Ferrari to catch fire

Edit: @DemonDrone.

Damn, there's like new page every 30 seconds

just read this :-

Highcroft Racing‏@highcroftracing

@SatoshiMotoyama working on getting car repaired to a state where we can get it back to the pits. #nissandeltawing #24LM

fingers crossed they can get it back to the pits and get it back out!

What!? A ray of hope for the DeltaWing. All we can do is hope and pray for it to hopefully get there and get back out.

Watch until the other Ferrari drivers start driving like Russians drunk on Vodka. They can mow all the LMP1's out of competition.

After that stupid move of taking the Delta Wing out we all want it to break now.

That is stupid, it was a racing accident..

I'm pretty sure he did not damage his own car on purpose with still 18 hours to go.

I've lost interest now the Toyota's are pretty much out, don't fancy watching the same old Audi parade that I've seen for the past 12 years now.

Ditto. Now I don't feel bad for getting out of the house to do something.

I had a feeling Nakajima would screw it up somehow, don't know why. Since I saw him put his helmet on a few hours ago, I just thought Oh 🤬

If there was anyone to screw up something, I also suspected it would be Nakajima.

You can't blame him, though. Le Mans is a whole different thing to F1 with all this traffic. He has what it takes, of course, but just give him some time to adapt to this racing scene.

I honestly think Toyota's assault is over for this year, but I'm not feeling bad for what they've achieved so far this year. You can only respect them for the swiftness they've put together this project and that they actually brought the battle to Audi as long as they lasted.

I'd say job well done, Toyota. See you guys next year with what will probably be a hugely improved TS030 that'll hopefully facewreck the Audis.

QFT.

Traffic happens in these races, especially when you're just charging up from an SC period, so there's no telling who, what, where, when, why and how anything can happen (to). The positioning was just terribly unfortunate and all. Racing incident.

I did say I had jinxed Toyota as well...oh god someone kill me.

Hmm, I've got no real favorite for the win. I just wanted the Toyota to take over the first place, and after that i want the Audi to take over the Toyota again. And after that I want the toyota to take over the Audi, and so on..

But with one Toyota out and the other one losing laps rapidly the 3 Audi's can just cruise on for the win.

Thought the same thing when i saw that. Audi blocking the DW from his view.

So say the Safety car was out, a lot of cars were going to pit, and some random car had the first pit room, all other cars had to wait even if it took several minutes? Like number 99 who had to stay in the pits for god knows how long

As this isn't the case here, I really don't see a reason to delve into it. I'm taking about two cars. No more, no less. If a car had to stay in pits due to technical issues, then of course it's fair game for another car to go ahead.

And either way, it still doesn't excuse the idiocy in placing the two leading cars in a pack of slower cars. Anyone with a 2 digit IQ (or higher) could see how that would result in problems. There should be clear rules to let the LMP's be in front of any given pack, when the race resumes. Much less confusion, and must less chance of an accident.

Wonder how much money Microsoft paid for all the Forza advertizing on the track. Including the tire barriers which usually have Gran Turismo on them...

I'm so used to seeing this track in GT5.
Those forza banners jump out every time I see them - looks so out of place
Distracting, really.

I typed the same thing on Neogaf before he got in, he looked like he was going to screw it up and surprise surprise he did. #7 Toyota had the best chance of winning this Race but unfortunately for the second year in a row Ferrari (don't care who is behind the wheel) decided to take out a P1 racer.

Can't imagine PD'll be updating the look of the track to incorporate this any time soon...

Even if they did it'd take so long that another 5 24h Le Mans would have gone by and only then it will have been released. Toyota will probably have won once in that period...just you mark my words.

Damn I jinxed them again

So did this race just got boring since Toyota has 1 car down and the other all screwed up and like 3 laps down now? Audis are just gonna cruise towards the finish line no problem. That is unless the Ferraris start mowing people down again.
