I think I'm gonna miss the finish of this...I have tickets to the Motorexpo tomorrow, and revision to do as well. No way am I gonna be free at 14:00 GMT to see the finish of the race... :(

You already know how it will end, bud.

Yes yes. But still...it is the finish.

Delta wing driver is a noob.

Let's see then what Satoshi Motoyama's record is...

Championship titles
1998, 2001, 2003 and 2005 - Formula Nippon
2003-2004 - JGTC (GT500)
2008 - Super GT (GT500)

Yes, complete noob there.

In addition, he was at Le Mans with Nissan in 98 and 99.

They DID say the DW was hard to see.
It does have a low profile and not a lot of whiteness and junk to help it stand out.

Maybe if they painted it bright yellow.. or a fleshy peach.
What about some brigt lights? :D Like a driving pair of Blinky Do's xD

It is low, and the visibility in those coupe LMPs isn't the best and Nak was in heavy traffic so... I don't know, to me it was just one of those incidents of remarkably bad timing, had the DW been anywhere else on the track with them it wouldn't have happened. But the huge pack of LMPs catching the DW on the exit of the Porsche curves was just asking for it, not that it was any one person's fault. It's easy to call it Nakajima's fault but hingsight's 20-20 and we have no idea what every dimension of the exact circumstances were.

That's not the spirit of le mans...

Quoted for truth. Neither the spirit of the die-hard Le Mans fan .

Who knows? Remember the McQueen movie? The leading Ferrari was on the final lap and it got a flat tire just before taking the checkered flag.

LIFT the 🤬 feet from the damn throotle. That's what HRT and Marussia guys do when the leading cars are coming.
Delta wing driver is a noob.

Just..

Go to bed, you are clearly tired or something. Go see a doctor if this keeps up.

Same can be said for the lead cars. It's early in the race and they could have shown more patience.

Just drop it dude, just making yourself look like an ass and turning this thread into something it doesn't need to be.

When you can drive a Delta Wing sure tell us that. :)

I'm staying up for next couple hours - who else is?

That's also true, but what I meant is following all the cars, not just the lead ones. For christs sake there's about 50 of them left! Something good is going to come from that. :)

You trolling. Blue flags exist for something.
Usually when you have the 4 Leading cars in battle behind you = GTFO ASAP !
Don't even try the aphex, just lift off and let them racing.

Learn the rules.

Blue flags mean let the other guy past in two categories only. F1 and DTM.

In every other racing category it is a warning that a faster car is behind you.

IT DOES NOT MEAN GET OUT OF THE WAY.

It is the job of the driver of the slower car to stay on the racing line.

This is so there is no confusion over what a slower car in front of you will do.

It is the responsibility of the driver of the faster car to pass the slower car safely.

Well I just woke up so yay, I'm the night watchman :dunce:

I'll be watching the race, pigging out on Del Taco till I have to go to work in 3 and a half hours.

Go #61 ! (yes, it's a Ferrari, has a Portuguese driver...)

Kaufman is 2 to 4 seconds slower than Águas, now taking the wheel. Still, didn't wreck it... yet.

👍

Beer, pizza, other stuff, and Live HD Tv. HELL YEAH.

These guys are all pros. They all take tests to be certified to race on the track.

So their awareness should be far more than most "normal" people on public roads.

That isn't an excuse, it is just an observation that yes, it present a different shape on the racetrack that isn't common to the drivers to recognise that it is another vehicle.

But then, the DeltaWing is a very odd car for the race and of course, other drivers will find it strange and difficult to see as they've not come across it before on the racetrack that often!

Delta wing driver is a noob.

HRT and Marussia = F1

DeltaWing = 24hrs LeMans.

They have different rules. The GT and the LMP2 cars are under no strict orders to lift off. They may only move if they deem it safe, however the LMP1 cars are FAR faster than those cars, so its actually safer for the slower cars to take the racing line and the faster cars to simply overtake them outside the line.

HKS racer, you obviously have no experience of actually watching a 24hrs race at all, when there are different groups racing at the same time. The drivers there are all there on merit as they would have to pass a professional licence.

Yeah Audi is gonna win, big surprise.
But theres still gonna be great battles in other classes. Lets hope for something like the finish battle at 2012 Sebring :D

I've been switching back and forth from the le mans tv, the speed/corvette and the bbc feeds. Any other good ones to recommend?

And a comment on staying awake, my doctor taught me this: hop into the shower then alternate as HOT as you can stand, then as COLD as you can stand, about ten seconds each, for ten cycles. Messes with your system. You'll be WIDE awake for at least four hours!

I'm staying up for next couple hours - who else is?

Well, it's not even 6PM yet here, so yeah.

:P

Seriously, though, that depends on how the race is looking. I'm not sure at this point if I'm gonna watch it all night, now; and I'm definitely not going to bother watching what isn't on Speed (ie. no more streams).
