They probably watched it together,
"that Porsche is faster then us"
"that Audi is faster then us"
"the toyota is faster then us"
"the bykolles is more reliable then us"
"the #23 Nissan did more laps then we have all season"...

"Hey, that Ligier spun 3 times in one round and is still faster than us!"
"Hey look, that 911 RSR does the same as our McLaren, blowing up one engine after another!"

Very good race all in all, already looking forward to next year (SO much waiting though )
2nd Le Mans with you guys, I really enjoyed it (especially at late night)
On to the next one :cheers::cheers:

Whag an absolutly great race! Best part for me, seeing my picks in LMP1 and GTE-PRO win! Great job by the Porsche team, great rebound for the Corvette after losing the #63 on Friday, and it's pretty neat to see one of the Nissans finish. Hopefully they can have the car all figured out for 2016, and at least challenge Toyota.

Ok, I'm definatly a fan of the WEC now. I think this is my third year of watchig the 24, with it taking up most of my weekend. Think I logged around 10-11 hours! Not bad if I do say so myself!

Is it June 2016 yet? I can't wait already! See ya guys next year!

Wooow fox cutting off before the awards complete.
The WEC stream kept running through the end of the LMP1 podium ceremony (though it looks like they're skipping the other three podiums).

For US$11.33, I feel like it was money well-spent. I just wish I had multiple monitors to watch it with. :)
The marketing potential of this win is mammoth especially with Porsche transitioning to 4 cylinder engines in the near future. Too bad they aren't V4s :(
Well, if they ever wanted to be crazy and make a mid-engine, V-4, turbo, hybrid sportscar... they've got some credibility for it. :)

It's almost strange they didn't use an H-4 on the 919 just for marketing purposes. But I guess the engineers felt the (very unusual) V-4 configuration was best.

Well, time for me to say goodbye.
It was a fantastic 24H race. Really exciting and so much fun to watch.
I wish they would already race again next weekend.

It was a real pleasure to share this experience with all of you again. Made the race, specially at night, much more enjoyable.

See you all at the latest next year for the 2016 24h Le Mans.

We did it Reddit...wrong moment. We did it Corvette, great job on the win in what can only be summed up as a week start on the back foot losing the more senior drivers Vette. The fan support and the Team more importantly were behind the sole car and the group made it happen.

Also good job on the Porsche guys, I wanted to see Webber get the win, but I like Hulk and I hope this raises his stock a bit in the series he currently races in. I'd love to see him in a more competitive group and then win a WDC and move on to sports cars.

Great race, congratulations to the winners and my condolences to those that weren't so lucky. The GTE AM Aston Martin Team in particular have my deepest sympathy. I can imagine nothing worse than having that snatched away. Except for being the one responsible for taking that special moment from so many hard working friends and colleagues. Thoughts are with you sir.

Thanks for the banter folks! I don't chime in often but it's become a ritual of mine (5 years running!) to follow this great race with you guys and I really enjoy the discussion, sarcasm, drinking games and treeing that fills the many pages of this thread year after year.

Until next time my fellows I'm checking out. I'll be seeing some of you in the GTPlanet Endurance Series' Le Mans 24 hr in a couple weeks time and the rest of you for the real thing this time next year.

Cheers! :gtplanet:

Well, I managed to watch about 17 hours of the race.

Positives:

- The teams I was rooting for won overall and GTE-Pro.
- A great battle for GTE-Pro for a good chunk of the race, too bad the Aston's had issues as that could have been an epic battle all the way to the end.
- The WEC stream was awesome and I will go that route again next year as long as they don't jack up the price.

Negatives:

- LMP2 and GTE-Am were duds.
- Toyota and Nissan being off the pace. Hopefully both can regroup and be on pace next year.
- Some questionable driver talent among the amateurs as always.

I can't wait for next year and thanks everyone for the entertaining chatter!

I watched the first thirteen hours and the last two.

So happy for Porsche, Tandy, Bamber, and Hülkenberg. Sad for Aston Martin though. Any explanation of that crash?

When I upgraded my Virgin Media to the TiVo box I was finally able to watch and even record WEC races regularly so this in a way is my first proper season supporting the best motorsport series in the world. So this is therefore my first proper Le Mans. Will be watching the bits I missed so for me it is not over. Not by a long chalk! What an intro to Le Mans!

Just realized that one of my friends is a race engineer for Force India, and another friend is a race engineer for Cadillac Racing. The former obviously knows Nico Hulkenberg and the latter knows Tommy Milner (Cadillac racing and Corvette racing share the same facility @ Pratt & Miller). So I'm 1 connection away from the LMP1 and GTE-Pro winners! :):D:lol:

There is speculation Renault could leave F1. With the WEC growing bigger and bigger surely it would make sense for them to consider a WEC programme in the future and what will be a home race at Le Mans.

When Le Mans ends it is like the end of The Truman Show when you have no idea what else might be on tv.

I have been a GTP member almost 4 years and this was the first time I followed a thread while any race was on. It was hugely enjoyable with some comedic gold throughout usually at the expense of Porsche GTE and Nissan. I will be back for more races.

Cheers guys!

👍

Was gonna ask, do they even do podiums for the other 3 classes? I've never actually seen evidence of that . But that's because the feed, whatever it may be for that year that I watched, cuts out usually right after the LMP1 is done with champaign.

I really wanted to see Jordan Taylor and Patrick Dempsey's reactions on the podium!

It was a shame that I didn't get to see all the other podiums. Having said that, it's been good - but I now have to reintroduce myself to my bed.

When I went to the American Le Mans Series races at Laguna Seca and Sears Point/Infineon Raceway/Sonoma Raceway (whatever you wanna call it) 10+ years ago, they used to do podiums for each class, yeah. I assume Le Mans works the same way.
