Sad to hear that the #63 is out :(
Really is. Just preparing all that time for a 24 hour race, and then it going all down the drain because of a small problem on the Porsche Curves causing a big accident. Hope the driver is okay

Jan is reportedly "ok"...at least that's what they said on Facebook. But this sucks.

Corvette Racing #64...AVENGE YOUR FALLEN BROTHER!!!!!!! AVENGE HIM!!!!!!!

Damn. Glad Jan is ok, it was a pretty solid impact into the barriers. Shame for Ryan Briscoe as well, the attempt for the treble is over before it starts. :(

Well, guess I'll support the other Corvette then in GTE.

I'm going to sound like an idiot but I'm in the US... Are you guys watching this on eurosport or is it on a stream??

Get the official WEC stream in the app. It's very good, no commercial brakes, and you can watch the race from dozens of onboard cams.

Plus, you get the TV feed with Radio Le Mans guys commentating.

Yeah that wont buff out. What a shame...every year something happens to these boys. Last time things went smooth was 2010 or 11

The Ligier LMP3 was revealed yesterday as well.

And I like it, I will take mine in midnight purple please. Although I'm really not sure there is room for another class at lemans, yes the number of garages is increasing over the next couple of years but it runs the risk of becoming too 'bitty'. Also this is supposed to serve as a bridge between GTE and LMP2, that's not a very wide gap to jump as is, unless they are planning on getting the lmp2 cars a few seconds a lap quicker to make more room for the new class.

Still like the look of this and the ginetta though, if nothing else it would make a great single series to watch and considering they have a Nissan powerplant there is a good chance Polphony Digital will acknowledge they exist!

If it hasn't been mentioned for Australian viewers:

10pm Saturday- 1:00am Sunday FOX Sports 2

1pm- 11:30pm Sunday FOX Sports 4
Then I believe if you have Eurosport in your Foxtel package, it fills in a majority, if not all, of the gap.

USA has big gaps too, one is because of nascar, of course. And i forgot what exactly what the other gaps were. I'm planning on watching it live anyways. :)

Complete qualifying results. And a pretty good summary, focusing on the prototypes. Another summary, focused on the GTE classes.
Nissan had a huge improvement over QP1 which is good (about 3 seconds each) still got beat by an lmp2 though. Poor Nissan. :)

Nissan is starting to remind me of the Mazda diesel LMP2 in Daytona 24h...

They qualified 34th and 20th out of a grid of 53 cars. 18th, was the fastest GTLM car. :D

Except that the Mazda had already been racing for an entire season, and is using a very proven chassis in the Lola, the only thing holding them back is the engine. Nissan on the other hand are in their first race with a very much unproven chassis layout and drivetrain, a hybrid system that is basically a fancy paperweight at this point, all due to a lack of testing because of various delays.

With that in mind I'd say the Nissan is a massive success compared to the Skyactiv

And they were also using their race spec tires for quali. Darren Cox said in a recent interview that they didn't have the time to develop qualifying spec rubber in time for the race which also puts them at a disadvantage.

Does anyone know if there'll be any good Australian streams like Channel Tens 2013 stream? I don't know f the kept the stream last year because I was sick on the day.

As for who I'm rooting for,

LMP1: Audi. It is annoying to me that I have to root for them every since Peugeot left. I don't hate Audi at all but the other 3 options aren't really in my personal preference so I have no choice, though the new R18 design looks amazing
LMP1 - Privateers: Team ByKolles: I don't know why but seeing their attempt at LMP1 makes me want to root for them like I did with Strakka Racing 2 years ago.
LMGTE - Pro: Corvette. I've always been a GM Man throughout my life :P.

I personally don't care for LMP2 or LMGTE - Am.

The only one I know of is on FOXTEL.
Unfortunately, I don't have FOXTEL :(. Does this mean I'm out of luck on watching it?

Man I do miss it when Ten streamed it on their website 2 years ago. No commentators, no ads. Just car noises and racing details on screen :(.

What we've all been waiting for really....

It's on fox sports 2 and fox sports (depending on your tv carrier and programs) but normally fox sports will do a live stream with Corvette... Not so sure how that's gonna go down now after the accident..

If you don't get FS2 you don't get FS-GO, which I don't here so all you get is about 7 hours of coverage. That's why I paid for the stream, the coverage is excellent. Corvette racing usually runs there own in car streams as does Audi, somebody here said Toyota does also and I wouldn't be surprised if Nissan did.
