Everyone is cheating a little when it comes to stuff like that, even Corvette has their engine further back than the road car. I don't necessarily agree that they should be able to do that, but as long as it is good racing I am not complaining.
BMW M6 has the engine pulled back and lowered too.

To be honest, I'm really looking forward to the new M8 GT machine, really loving the look of the road car, so can imagine the GT equivalent should look dramatic.

As much as GTE-Pro continues to be one big battle, LMP2 is hotting up too. Mind you, LMP2 has been frantic with battles since the start, top stuff. Been keeping up with LMP2 more so the past couple of years, and this year I've been following it more closely.
I am not as familiar with all the teams as I should be, but you are right, they have been putting on some great racing recently.

Official stream dead and the website will not let me log back in. :banghead:

Did WEC blow all their server money on fidget spinners this year? :P

I'm glad I've got Eurosport 1 as part om my base cable package. Although, the Norwegian commentators aren't always on top of the stuff going on at all times...

Unless they made a road car long tail.

Yes, if they really wanted to, they could probably offer a silly expensive "long tail pack" to the GT3RS, then just give all their factory drivers a GT3RS with the "Long Tail Pack". :P

Over at IMSA. The 2018 M8 is joining the grid next season as it's replacement.
Woow, BMW pulled off the plug on they're biggest faillure of all times finally?
It's definitely an awesome piece of machinery but sadly could never be competitive. I would go for a new Z4 development if in charge at the beemer office.

Yea, this year I've been making more of an effort to get familiar with the teams, more so than what I did last year, certainly very close and hard fought.

I really wish BMW would come up with a smaller roadcar like the AMG GT to use as a basis for their racers, instead of using the big, heavy coupes. :banghead:
You'd think the i8 would be great for GT. Apart from all the electricity in it and everything. That's probably not legal.

I just checked when sunset will be and google says 10pm. That's super late but why? I know time zones are a thing but when I search for sunset where I live it says 8:30. Explain that one...

Does anyone know what cable channel in America the race is on?

In most the US, most of the race is FS2 or stream on FS-GO

I printed out the spotters guide mostly just to keep an eye on them this year.

Depends on how far north of the equator you live. The further north, the later the sunset. In summertime at least.

Question to anyone who has it. Eurosport player Le Mans only option at £5.99. Do you get the none interrupted dedicated stream with no coms?

Maybe 8:30 is dusk, full on sunset is 10:00 from what I checked, but it will surely be getting dark before that.

But France is closer to the equator than New York so New York should have the later sunset

It's gonna be 3-4pm EST so I know after that I can take a break and do other things

According to french public TV commentators, Toyota didn't plan for such heat at all, based on temp history on last 25 years. Thing is, the temp is way higher than average at Le Mans today, and things will be worse tomorrow. Toyota may be impacted by the 32° rule.

But I also read that the ACO has to announce at what times the rule goes into affect before the race itself starts?

Fox has the worst coverage usually, BUT... they have Brad Kettler on one of their commentary teams. Kettler of course has an engineer in the Audi program, and he's been saying some really interesting things about his experiences at the race and some interesting insight to things they did with the Audi cars. He was just talking about an alarm system the car had that would go off when the drivers were taking curbs harder than the team would look, told an interesting store about a bird that once got stuck in their air duck. Great stuff, if anyone has access to Fox Sports or Fox Sports GO.
