He's not going to pass that Aston, the BoP really did a number

I'm going to hold my breath, but at this rate, I'd be inclined to agree with you, as in making the Aston's competitive again (making everyone else slower), them seem to have made them almost too quick. Got to love the ACO with their wayward BoP.

Mind you, at the moment, that aside, GTE-Pro has been closely fought so far.

So with this slow zone system, is there the potential for a full course safety car at all? Or are they just gonna be sticking to slow zones in all circumstances.
Safety car if it is needed, otherwise slow zones.

#2 Porsche in the garage.

Porsche #2 won't be the first of the hybrid's to go to the garage, this race will be a test of reliability in this heat.

Damn it. I should have known that there was going to be a tree-fest reporting something in this thread. I mean, it only happens at least a hundred times in this thread every year.

I bet yeah that was a hybrid system issue on the #2. That spot on the track where it started smoking I believe is a spot where the hybrid system would kick in. That could put em well back if not out.

Yeah accelerating out of the corner looked really glitchy, something in the hybrid engine must have broke.

I wonder how hard it is tho swap the hybrid motor.

At this rate they should do a fan poll before the race for GTE-Pro and and based on that they'll set up BoP from then on. That way you know if you're team has a shot or not.

So is the #2 Porsche running in RWD only mode until the end of the race now, or did they manage to fix it?

E - Ignore that, it hasn't left the garage yet, looks like they will fix it.

 I like it.

Besides, if it was to be done that way, it couldn't too much worse than what the ACO are doing. Heck it could be better, as the "common person" may have more common sense than the ACO :sly:.

It's still in the garage. I doubt the car will be sent out until they get the front motor either back up and running or changed for a spare unit.

Thats hardly possible since 90% of the breaking is done with the hybrid engine. The brakes are not suited to be used without the hybrid charge system.

Fox coverage says they are changing the hybrid system, and Alan McNish claims it usually takes 90 minutes to fix.

Porsche is really in the hole now. This is the earliest in the race I can remember a manufacturer being down to 1 car vs. 3.

Wow, 90 minutes would be a lethal blow. :indiff:

Now they're taking off the front axle / suspension assembly. Not an easy fix for sure.
