The Sat and Sun 2pm slots are really the only options I could do due to the time zone differences

How come the Toyota GT-One is not being added , as it was in the same class and race as the CLK-LM in 98 and 99?

The series is more for the cars that raced in the FIA GT1 series in '98 and '99. The Toyota only raced at Le Mans both years, if I recall correctly. With the exception of the R390, because it's more in the caliber of the Mclaren and Mercedes.

I can still remember watching that CLK backflip like it was only yesterday :scared:

A lot of mega rule bending was done for the GT1 class cars , if I am right was there not LMP cars running during this period , hence the GT1 class is the dominate force for the mid to late 90's?

This is late 90s FIA GT1/GTS. I added the R390 because it was a GT1 car. The Toyota didn't race in FIA GT(1). Plus its classified as an LMP. The sad part is the biggest challenge to the Mercedes CLK's IRL was the Porsche 911 GT1, but Porsche isn't included in this game :(. So I made due with the R390. The car that flipped at LeMans was the Mercedes CLR not the CLK-LM.

That 911 GT1 is still one of the best looking 911's and GT1 cars of all time. They are worth crazy money if you have one of the rare road cars.

At the time , the CLK in any motorsport guise was just dominating everything in it's wake. If it was not for the GT-Ones bad luck and "weak" tyres , it would have been so much more. Mind you , Toyota was already shifting it's focus towards F1 at that point :(

If the GT-One ran under an LMP classification , why is it called the GT-One? I'm sure I've read or watched something going on about the rivalry between it and the CLK , with the crazy rule bending in the form or using an empty fuel tank to be classed as a space to fit a case ( all part of the classification rules ).

Most people just refer to the car as the TS020. This helps avoid the the confusion that happens when people try to refer the the car as a GT1 car, when it is in fact not. The GT-One aspect of the name of the car is just a name.

^I hope that makes some sort of sense.

Actually the GT-One ran under GT regs in 1998 alongside the Nissan R390 GT1. Regs at the time meant just the one car was required to be built by a manufacturer in order for it to be homologated for the track. This loophole was closed for 1999, hence the GT-One running in the "GTP" category, not "LMP" - GTP was for closed cockpit cars.

I'm still here. :)
Need to get with my team mate to start some practice. Ready Sin? :)

LMP means LeMans prototype, which in GT5 is the Toyota's classification. Instead of getting hung up on semantics, lets get the list together. I'll allow 2 per GTS car after all them are filled. I don't want duplicates of one GTS car and none of another. They all have their strong points, trust me they're all within a second of eachother everywhere we run!

I want to call the Zonda. But still dont know if I can make the races. :( I saw the poll and just kept starring at it. Not really sure when I can make it.

Sorry didn't mean to cause offence , was actually just doing petrol head talk , the Toyota is too fast compared to the GT cars being used in this series.

Zonda LM Felix79 / Fellix79 ( can only really do if it's weekends atm sorry )

So far it looks like Monday evening will be what we do, unless some more people sign up and sway the vote otherwise. OP is updated with further info as well.

I'm watching the election somewhat. I won't be online tonight. I'll be on tomorrow night. If anyone wants to we can run a practice race at Fuji.

Practice room will be open later on today. Around 7pm eastern time this evening. I will open a room and post the # here.

I'll sign up for the NSX-R LM:

llFERll/FERGT2690/ FER/ NSX-R LM/ Eastern -5 GMT

I can participate on friday, saturday or sunday. Thanks!

I'll put you down, but since you voted for a day that isn't in the lead I'll have to put you down as 'reserve'.

To everyone who signed up, if your voted time doesn't get selected I'd like to have another chance for you to be able to race. If there's interest I may be able to make this a 'double series'. So one might be run on a weeknight, and another possibly on a weekend. What do you all think of that? Would it be something that interests you?

I mean this series, but a double race for those who can't partake on a certain day. As of now the Vote is tied for Sunday early afternoon and Monday evening. I prefer Monday evenings. But if there is a large amount of people who want to run Sunday we can have a double split championship. So a Sunday and a Monday series or whatever.

Hi, I'd like to sign up for this if there is still space.
