INTRODUCTION

Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. In addition to NASCAR, the track also hosts races of ARCA, AMA Superbike, Grand-Am and Motocross. The track features multiple layouts including the primary 2.5 miles (4.0 km) high speed tri-oval plus 3.56 miles (5.73 km) sports car course layout which we will use.

Known for it's high speed banked turns and tight infield, Daytona Road Course will be a fierce battle between top speed and daring late braking. Who will come out on top in the first of the American Season races?

RACE DETAILS

Race room will open ~5:00pm est. (Monday) with qualifying starting soon afterwards (provided enough entries). Qualifying settings will be fuel consumption/tire wear on FAST while race setting will be NORMAL

TIRE USAGE

MEDIUMS are option tires, prime tires are SOFTS Minimum 9 laps per stint. A MINIMUM option tire usage (MEDIUMS) will be 19laps. You choose which compound you qualify with, but start the race with said tire compound.

Ahhh damn it!!!! Would it be a good idea to perhaps do little round robin PM's maybe three hours prior to room opening so we don't completely forget like I have done?

As for the race, quite a turn out. We started with 13 people but lost one in the process. So 12 started the race. Then we restarted the race but ADR_Freak and another participant left, LJC and another user returned so we had 12 participants again. The race was cut short with multiple disconnects, but we finished over half distance so I'll count it as a full race and give everyone who stayed until they d.c.'ed full points according to the order they left or were knocked offline.

Sorry fresh but It;s my fault I couldn't make the full distance, but is it possible to make the whole qualifying and pre-practice thing faster? It took us 1.5-2 hours to finally get rolling and I would've had sufficient time to finish. Thank you.

We started late because of the shuffling around. If guys want to start earlier, I suggest joining the room earlier. Tonight was weird on time because of the newcomers getting their cars and regs situated. Also a lot of unnecessary chatter was going on in the room. If everyone knows the routine we can get the qualifying started a lot sooner. Next week should be a lot better.

I think with the PSN being under maintenance, half the guys racing got d.c.'ed! We only had 4 of us left so we just stopped racing after there was about 20-25 laps left. No reason to go on with only 4 of us. I'll post the results soon.

INTRODUCTION

Laguna Seca is a permanent racing course located near Monterey, California. Originally constructed in 1957, it hosts motorcycle and auto racing, plus our very own FIA GT racing.

The current racetrack is 2.238 miles (3.602 km) in length with a 180 feet (55 m) elevation change. It has eleven turns, including the famous "Corkscrew" at Turns 8 and 8A. The name Laguna Seca is Spanish for "dry lagoon". The area where the track is was originally a lake. The course was originally built around the lake, which has since dried up entirely.

Who will stand atop the podium after 65 fast paced laps in "wine country's" Laguna Seca?
