No, no, that's not impossible, and I really don't think it's two pictures put together, either. That effect is most likely done with special camera lenses and contraptions. The camera was probably pointed straight down and the lense captured everything from left to right.

That sounds kindof like that camera that they use to take class pictures of a whole bunch of people standing on stands. I remember them telling us not to move for a few sec. or else your picture of your self will be blurred.
