Sorry to here about your wheel. I just got mine today but unfortunately was shipped the wrong wheel :( Received a Turbo S instead of my GT3RS v2. Most of the rest of my order arrived (shifters and CSP) but Im also still waiting for the pedal tuning kit. Was hoping to be able to get my rig sorted this weekend but guess it will be a bit longer. Emailed Fanatec so hopefully it will get sorted quick.

My guess on the underlined thing is that they ran out of the GT3RS stock, so they shipped TurboS instead. :indiff:

I believe that as much as I believe Kim Jong-il's 38 under-par golf game.

I live in the us and just got mine yesterday. Im waiting for the csp tuning kit.

Why are people getting shifters in the US??? I ordered mine almost a month ago and it hasn't shipped

mine was ordered on oct. 15. and it says on the website that the shifters wouldn't shipped until dec. and the tuning kit will be in late nov.

You wouldn't put up with getting a single defective product?

It happens regardless of what wheel we are talking about.

Fanatec can certainly be slow with support, but their support is always top notch otherwise. They are a company that definitely does right by their customers.

Well, no I wouldn't. First of all, it really is a privilege for Fanatec to get our/my money. Without me, you....ect....fanatec doesn't exist. Not to mention, their wheel [GT3RS] is expensive. So to give them $300+ dollars is a big deal.

So, for the price I am paying and the product I am expecting, yes a single defect will persuade me in the future, or make me return the product for a new one, or return it and get another competitors product. I won't expect anything less.

It is the companies job to make sure they satisfy the customers needs. Which in this case, they are getting a "F" for.

And another thing, customer service is important to me. So, not only do they need to perform with the product; they also need to show that they care about my needs afterwards. That is, defects, support questions..ect..

They are a company that definitely does right by their customers.

If I was to base my purchase decision off this thread, I would never buy from them. This thread shows me several customers were wronged, and still waiting for their needs to be met.

So yes....

It happens regardless of what wheel we are talking about.

But its what they do is what counts...

Sorry for that rant..

Chadwick, yes Fanatec support are slow, but remember they are STILL a relayively small business with low staff. If you look at Logitech, they are a big company. Look at most of the rigs on the market. The Playseat- Built with Logitech in mind. Obutto- Built with Logitech in mind. Gamepod- Built with Logitech in mind.

Some say Fanatecs are supported but to get the shifter on you need to adapt, do some DIY. Logitech works straight out of the box. Give Fanatec some time. (but they still need to give good working right orders out so they can get a good reputation)

Wow. almost the same crap I got. I have everything for GT. bought the hdtv, ps3, etc. 2 months ago.

GT3 RS wheel and Clubsport pedals arrives on my doorstep this afternoon. Along with the wheel stand. I'm so excited when I see the boxes.
Get them inside, and when i go to open the wheel box, its a 911 turbo S wheel?!! Also, i purchased the shifters but they wernt in any of the boxes. But i paid for them. the invoice from fanatc shows them but they arnt in the total amount...? Yet my paypal history shows paying a greater price than what was listed in the fanatec invoice......:dunce::dunce::dunce:anyone know whats up with that?

So I guess have to send it back. Hopefully i will get a timely response. left message on the phone and just emailed them.

ALL BEFORE GT5 COMES OUT!!!!

Oh ok that explains what happened to me too.

So when do you think they will get new GT3RS wheels? Should i sent it back as soon as possible or wait till they are back in stock and just play with it for the timebeing

I was gonna order mine here in a little while, but now after reading this i don't know if i should wait? I might just oder over the phone now to make sure i get the right thing. Also how long did it take to get the wheel?

If you were in the UK I'd offer to swap in a heartbeat!

what you mean? Fanatec is a German company.... isnt it?

http://www.fanatec.de/

They are actually just 3 and half hours from my place ...

Chris

He made a joke about german engineering being 110% reliable and i said no that would be the japanese meaning the 110% reliability.

Was just a joke because japanese cars are more reliable than german cars.

Yeah, I was thrilled about the wheel. They answered all of my questions before I placed the order now it has been a week and still no reply on my tracking number.

Edit: Exactly one week and the wheel arrived.

Usually UPS sends you a tracking number, at least that's what Fanatec told me and that's what really happened too. Although with one package, I didn't get the tracking number and after a week I asked it from the Fanatec and they gave it to me just to discover that package is already in my town and few hours later I got it.

Yup same here. I ordered a GT3RS on Nov. 9th at night...so essentially the 10th, then got an invoice from Fanatec on the 11th and shipping notification from UPS (auto-notify@ups.com) on the 12th...maybe check your spam file or filter?

I live in Califonia and when I UPS ground stuff from Florida it's takes about 7-9 days. Hope you get it by Wednesday!

Well...I came home today and my wheel, CS pedals, and shifters were here. I opened up the wheel and it was the Turbo S. I ordered the GT3. Other than that it took exactly 7 days from when I ordered till when it arrived, and I live in Florida so that is across the country from there warehouse, so it was quick delivery. Everything is great other than the wrong wheel. I know the only difference is the 360 support, but I dont know if I should get them to exchange it for the GT3. Decisions, decisions.

Having used them all.... I prefer the Turbo S over any other Fanatec wheel.

;)

It seems there are now a number of people who ordered shifters after me but have already had their orders filled. Time to follow up with Fanatec...

Thomas, if you read this could you check on the status of my order (order # 10930)? I've also sent an email to the webshop.usa @endor address. Thanks!

I've experienced somewhat disappointing service as well
I Ordered a GT3RS with CS and RS stand on November 10th. On the 11th i receiced an email that my order was shipping. On the 17th I get 4 emails from a woman in the States with 4 tracking numbers. Check tracking today and all 4 say elecronic shipping notice received on the 18th. As of 5pm today they still haven't shipped yet Fanatec took my money 9 days ago. I'm really looking forward to these products, but I'm not at all impressed with their US distributor. How hard is it to ship 4 freaking boxes. I ordered it on the 10th so I would have it for the 24th. That's highly unlikely now. It's utter ridiculous that these couldnt have been shipped out within 24 hrs of that first email stating my order was shipping. They are also shipping it priority international which is more expensive. Why sit on the package for 10 days then rush it for extra cost. If they would have sent it standard shipping 10 days ago it would have got here before it now will being shipped priority.

Thomas I think you have good products. You're service is not living up to the standards of your products. At least here in North America. You really need to do something about your US distributor as they seem totally out to lunch so far

Isn't it bizarre that the turbo s wheels are supposedly sold out with some out o f luck dual platform users disappointed to not get one. Yet we have at least 2 people that don't really want one are getting them

It wasnt that i didnt want the turbo s. I did, but I liked the looks of gt3 better, and the price was cheaper w/ CSP. But I am extremely happy now. I lucked out too I guess because there was no shipping damage.Fanatec gets my vote.

I have the PWTS and just got the GT3RS V2. For the most part they are pretty close in overall feel.

The shift paddle buttons on the GT3RS V2 are much better in my opinion. My PWTS buttons are mushy and barely give a tactile click. The GT3RS V2 has a nice smooth motion with a soft click, feels great in comparison. My PWTS production # is in the 300’s so was one of the first made, maybe it’s been revised like the GT3RS V2. My PWTS shift buttons are spliced out of the back of the wheel, whereas the GT3RS V2 is a totally seperate button made out of shiny plastic.

Could be my imagination but the FFB is delivered more smoothly and in more detail in the GT3RS V2 but could also be that my PWTS is a year old now.

I love the Alcantara but I have my doubts about how long it will hold up to my hands that tend to sweat in longer sessions. I’ve read it holds up great several places and seen one negative comment in this forum. The PWTS leather cleans up great with leather cleaner or warm water with a drop of Woolite on a microfiber cloth and is still in like new condition for me after a year.

Both are great wheels.

Sux that you got a broken wheel :ouch: Please keep us posted on how long it takes for repairs. Do you need to pay for return shipping?

For those of you discussing orders, I'm in Canada and I ordered the GT3RS V2 on Thursday & received 4 separate tracking numbers via USPS today.

I'm a bit concerned that I'm not going to get the wheel I order. Are the internals and firmware on the PWTS the same as the GT3RS V2?

I went to Fantec webs site just now and noticed that they've removed the PWTS, but it was on their site Thursday when I ordered. I don't know what to think. What should I do if I get a PWTS. Should I just keep it?

Yes apart from the shifter paddle/buttons I believe the wheels are identical internally and certainly in terms of firmware.:)

When I got my PWTS and started using it, I first noticed a very high pitched sound as it got warm, a fan no doubt. I drove a bit farther and then I heard what sounded like a fan blade rubbing the case or hitting some wires. I turned the wheel off to avoid damage let it cool and then ran some more. The high pitch sound from the one fan was almost unbearable to me causing a headache in just a short while.

I sent an email to the support address and waited for a response. Meanwhile I was still racing but only doing short races and letting the wheel cool after each race to avoid the fans running.

It was a few days before a got a response from Fanatec but since then they have been very helpful. I had asked if I could do the repair myself rather than ship it back without voiding the warranty. He responded with instructions on how to properly and safely open the wheel to gain access to the fans. I did this and after shifting the wires around a bit sloved one of the 2 problems. I noticed also that the smaller fan was the one screaming and if I placed my finger in the center and applied slight pressure it was not so loud.

I told the guy at Fanatec what I did and found and he said he would send me a new fan. I received it in about 4 days and installed it yesterday. Apparently the first fan had a bad bushing in it as now I can barely hear it running where before I could hear it clearly from across the room.

All in all I would say that I am very happy with the wheel and thier support on it at this point.
