so tonight I started a daily race as DrC SrS.

Grp4 at brands hatch.

After an idiot in a skyline thinking he was in a fast and furious movie decided to make it his personal goal to bash everyone I ended up getting at least 20secs of penalty’s as well as being dropped to SR A due to the it’s both your fault rule.

Dejected, I started my climb again in he next race as A.... I had 2 of the cleanest races I’ve ever had, fast, fair and clean...

Such a ****ed up system lol

I'm doing fake manoeuvres in that case, loosing fraction of time, but offenders just crash themselves into the barriers (or take express training to become a cowboy) instead of crashing in my car.

I've spent the past 2 days getting back up to my usual SR:S rating (I'm a DR:B), after absolute crash fests on Wednesday & Thursday, and I have to agree that the races with SR:A racers has been a lot cleaner and friendlier than the S's.

I almost wanna try and stay in this class, but after winning a clean race at Dragon Trail I'm back in to S.

Actually if you go out and race and if you are a clean driver over time your results will show that and place you where you should be. I think people spend more time sometimes worrying about their rankings whether it be SR or DR than just going out and racing and enjoying the races.

I try to race every race at the best controllable pace I can and the finishing position will be what it is and the game rankings will be what they are. I have some races that give better results than others of course.

Using this method I have been an SR S since the first week of the games launch and have run 200 online races.
The only thing I do is avoid tracks that are known for their status of commonly being a crashfest.
Lean towards racing the longer races over the shorter races.
Try to run the fastest pace I can that I feel still minimizes the risk of making major mistakes.
Otherwise it is what it is and it is only a game, nothing life changing.

I've had the opposite experience. When my SR dropped to A after a crashfest race, I could not improve it fast enough. I did about 7 races at an A rating, the first 4 were a total nightmare (still shocked that I didn't drop further down to a B). After getting 3 "clean Racing" bonus I got back to an S (2 of those races I was on pole and the last one I was P3 where the top 3 just ran with it finishing ahead of P4 with a 14+ seconds gap). While it hasn't always been smooth sailing and might just be my luck but I've had much cleaner races at SR S level (about 7 out 10 I'd say) than I did at A.

Gettin SR is far too easy imo, you can actually go from B to S in one 8 lap race if you tootle around so more often than not, the D\C DR , SR S ranks are full of newbies who simply yo-yo up and down in most cases, it makes them unpredictable and slows progress of the guys pushing for A ranks.

I made it to S rank earlier this week. Yesterday's races weren't bad at all, but today's at Interlagos have had a lot of contact. I've been spun out twice, most annoyingly having moved from 12th to 6th in the first third of the opening lap.

Switched to the Megane race at Dragon Trail got punted into the barrier at the tight chicane on the first lap. Offender received no time penalty.

I'm still rank S, somehow, despite having lost points in pretty much every race I've run in so far today, but they're not as clean as I'd hoped for at S. I don't suppose my grid placings are helping, but I seem to be at a DR where I can no longer match the pace of the front runners.
