For thoes who keep saying the GT has only just got the Super GT license, it hasn't. It's had the Super Gt license since GT2. Well sort of, it was called the All Japan GT license back them. But it was licensed, they had a GT300 and GT500 championships in GT2 and then two All Japan GT championships in GT3 and one in GT4. GT5 it'll simply be called the Super GT championship. But it's not new.

I just wish they'd reveal more (as in car models or something!) This movie felt more like e3/TGS over again. But the new tracks are something to marvel over.:dopey:

But when you look at 01:22, the helmet seems to say that it's Nomura Ken driving but it still is a standard GT/Sparco racing suit with a big Gran Turismo logo on both arms.

Why some drivers got their own full racing suit ingame whereas others keep their helmet but have a standard racing suit ??

The colours of his overalls are (mostly) correct. Maybe you can unlock famous helmets (but not overalls) for your own driver? Seeing as his D1GP Skyline is in the game, it doesn't make sense not to have his overalls when he is driving.

True, and only now they are making a hoop-la about having the license by displaying the official logo. Hopefully we'll see it in-game too.

I tried to made a small comparison of Rome and Madrid with their virtual counterparts:

Unfortunately the video quality is poor, when it becomes available an HQ or an HD version I will do something of better.

KY went on record several months ago stating that it was essentially finished didn't he?

Well the game was essentially finished, but the last of things they wanted to finish up. Kaz also said around E3 2009 the game was done and could be released at any time.

I read that as "the basics are in place, now we are just deciding what extras we want on it before we give it to you" sort of like the first layer of icing is on the cake, now we are putting the decorations on it.

I'm glad GT5 will have some licensed competions. My only worry is that the licensed cars all be 2 years old at the release of Gt5.

For example the WRC license; they show the Subaru WRC car with Petter Solberg from 2008. In 2009 Petter has driven with a private Citroën C4, and for 2010 this will his ride again.
The Super GT's in the video are also old cars, the only new car I see is the Nissan GTR.
I don't now how old the the NASCAR's are in the video. Maybe someone else can tell.

Could they not have 08 and 09 cars?

It depends which season/s they license. When you license somethnig like a motorsports series, you normally only license a specific season or seasons. I should imagine that considering PD's relationship with the Super GT and the lenth of time they've held the Super GT license that they already have the rigts to the current cars. But I'd expect them to only have cars and liveries from a single season of NASCAR and WRC.

I dont know if this has been mentioned anywhere but my friend who attended the show told me Gran Turismo 5 (Chinese version) is also slated for a March 2010 release on the game show's catalogue. And seeing certain PS3 games such as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has both English and Chinese versions release as seperate disc copies for the Asian region, maybe there is a possibility that Asia might get the English version in March together with the Chinese version. And all PS3 games are region free so. :)

Which is exactly the same as "You can eat the cake at anytime, it's finished, we just want to make it pretty" to related to the meaning "We can release it at anytime"

Porsche on the way thanks to Super GT

Wouldn't count on it seeing as the JGTC Diablo was removed for europe and US GT3, and was never to be seen again in subseqent versions. There have been Porches and Ferraris in JGTC/SuperGT for a while now, never seen any of them either.

Hello guys, I just took some days off from GTP for Christmas and then...BANG! a fantastic new video showing two new incredible tracks, london is perfect and superb in GT5P and now we get Rome and Madrid....now I'm just waiting for the livery editor confirmation. PD is really doing a fantastic work.

C'mon PD, just release some more videos, they can be a HD racing replay in the ring, even without damage just featuring supercars, I'm eagerly waiting to drive the SLR mclaren after seeing it HD rendered in the video....:nervous:

Don't count on it, unless the Super GT own's the rights to the cars then the Super GT license doesn't automatically mean you can use every car in the series. Some cars will from a legal perspective, still be representative of the maufacturers that make them.

That sentence doesn't make sense. Fictional tracks have been an essential element of Gran Turismo since the start of the series. How then is this some new "path PD is taking"? Also how does it look like a super SFX Hollywood movie? And if anything, PD's fictional tracks are the ones with heart and soul when compared to some of the more bland looking real life tracks. The likes of Twin Ring Motegi, Infineon and Indy against Trial Mountain, Grand Valley and Seattle, which are the ones with a heart and soul? Not every real track is a Spa-Francorschamps, Nordschleife or Monte Carlo.

I'm talking about the overall path PD is taking, what they're displaying in the latest trailers. Looks like all glamour.
Is this not a driving simulator? If I wanted to see town folks and dogs I'll play Assasin's Creed!
Remember enthusia racing showing a video of a real car compaired to the in game?

Since GT1, I've been hoping they'd concentrate on more serious matters as time goes by.
When you talk about the heart and soul of racing, it depends on your perception on what that means.
To me, the heart and soul of real racing lies on the great tracks like Spa, Monza, Infineon, Bathurst etc... I think we've got enough pretty fantasy tracks.

And no matter how close you think they are to reality, they won't be as accurate unless they're laser scanned.
By the way, theres lots of details in the current tracks, and the accuracy is amazing. I just want PD to take that one step further, maybe in GT6?

i still believe we will see Porsches in GT5... i dont know when agreement ends with other companies but it is possible.

The trailers are just made to make the game look pretty, wait for the full track list before you complain about the number of fantasy tracks in the game.

Hmm, couldn't PD get kinda into trouble for showing that EA Sports Ad on the cars? Or is it also part of the Nascar license?

Well EA is a sponsor of Michael Waltrip Racing. Whoever get the Nascar license automatically get the entire livery...I suppose.

Here's something I noticed:

From Indianapolis RC, from turn 8 to 9 (the short straight leading to the S turns). The turn starts at around 2:05 into the video.

From iRacing (in Daytona Prototype, starts @ 1min)

[YOUTUBEHD]xtFjxIxkpw8[/YOUTUBEHD]

And from GT5 TT (starts @ 1 min)

It could be the camera-angle but the one from iRacing seems particularly short and missing are the two trees. Btw, here's the course map:

You're right, the one on iRacing seems way too different from the real life one. However, what does this have to do with the trailer at AGS?:odd:
