Don't count on it, unless the Super GT own's the rights to the cars then the Super GT license doesn't automatically mean you can use every car in the series. Some cars will from a legal perspective, still be representative of the maufacturers that make them.

Hmm... you do got a point....:grumpy:But still,I would love to see Porsches in GT5 if PD can get an agreement with SuperGT/JGTC or Porsche.:D

I'm talking about the overall path PD is taking, what they're displaying in the latest trailers. Looks like all glamour.
Is this not a driving simulator? If I wanted to see town folks and dogs I'll play Assasin's Creed!
Remember enthusia racing showing a video of a real car compaired to the in game?

Since GT1, I've been hoping they'd concentrate on more serious matters as time goes by.
When you talk about the heart and soul of racing, it depends on your perception on what that means.
To me, the heart and soul of real racing lies on the great tracks like Spa, Monza, Infineon, Bathurst etc... I think we've got enough pretty fantasy tracks.

And no matter how close you think they are to reality, they won't be as accurate unless they're laser scanned.
By the way, theres lots of details in the current tracks, and the accuracy is amazing. I just want PD to take that one step further, maybe in GT6?

I don't see what the trailer has to do with the actual content and gameplay. You're still going to be driving in the game, not playing with dogs. Seems like really petty criticism. And I disgree with the fantasy track comment, if PD keep up their usual quality these are a fantastic addition to the game.

Hmm, couldn't PD get kinda into trouble for showing that EA Sports Ad on the cars? Or is it also part of the Nascar license?

There's a team on the PS3 version of EA's FIFA 10 that has "Xbox360" as shirt sponsor.

Common occurrence really (still funny though).

At .44 during the video on the front page News Section the road is cobblestone I do hope that when you drive slowly over this the steering wheel wobbles in your hand and then increase in frequency as you speed up otherwise it will not be right.

its nearly 2010 - not long now guys and girls.

(Hopes)

Yeah I know, same thing goes for "Champions League 06-07" for the Xbox 360. Every time I play it, there's a PS3 sign in it

Since Super GT is once again in, I hope the Honda HSV-10 is included

Jaw-dropping :bowdown::eek:.
And those wheels are always my favourite, VolkRacing TE37/G2.

You're right, the one on iRacing seems way too different from the real life one. However, what does this have to do with the trailer at AGS?:odd:

The iRacing one is not different from the real version, the iRacing one is the real version. iRacing laser scans the tracks, so the course, bumps, curbs, trees, buildings and whatever are all accurate... the tracks being accurate to within millimeters. The end part of the lap is different because that portion of the track was redesigned for MotoGP.

"They do scan (afaik, but not everything) and take thousands of photos, they walk around the tracks to see how the different surfaces are, they use GPS data and so on. PD already proved that they recreate the tracks almost perfectly, thats why guys who played iRacing and GT5P will tell you that Daytona is almost exactly the same in both games, plus GTs better graphical representation."

Besides, do you really think that the tracks in iRacing are accurate to within milimietres? Do you even realize how many polygons would only the road contained on ten square meters? Possibly more than what could ordinary PC handle and you would need some PC with NASA server's computing power to calculate physics for every bump and every car, not to mention rendering the whole track in realtime (well im not sure how smooth is Indianapolis, but looking at regular "smooth" road, it will be like that). The accuracy you are talking about is only a dream thats not achievable today with technology. The truth is that tracks in iRacing CAN NOT be very different from GT. And you really think that they laser scan even trees? They may scan the road and maybe even obstacles, but in the final it will still be very optimized and the accuracy will be about decimetres, like in GT, which is stil VERY close to reality, more accuracy would be just a waste of the platform's power.

It is FR, MR has been banned from JGTC/SuperGT thus the need for getting rid of the NSX.

Oh really? I didn't know about that new rule. Thanks for the info. 👍
But for what reason MR cars are banned from the series? :dopey:

This is the first time it's licensed though isn't it? And with 16 cars online at, let's say Fuji, this will be... simply amazing! Holy crap, I can't wait!

I honestly don't know. I think it may be because they are looking to merge the rules with DTM had read a few articles about that.

As a series yes; the cars have been licensed before. Let's hope they add the extra tracks in the season calender (Okayama, Autopolis etc) and make it directly relatable to the season. Looking forward to this more than anything else, especially since I watched my 10 years of JGTC dvds again last night...

First time as Super GT, but the series used to be called the All Japan GT championship, and that was licensed in GT2, GT3 and GT4.

The truth is that tracks in iRacing CAN NOT be very different from GT.
It makes a huge difference. I've played GT, rFactor, and iRacing extensively, and the feedback of each tiny bump and elevation change as it is relayed through the steering wheel in iRacing makes the game incredibly immersing and challenging. While Polyphony's force feedback from GT5P and GT5D is excellent (considerably better than rFactor and other console games), I'm afraid the additional textural detail needed to emulate iRacing just isn't there at the moment.

Very true that the resolution of the track surface in iRacing adds a ton of realism and immersion. I was off in saying the track surface in game is accurate to within millimeters: The scanned map is accurate to this degree, and then the actual ingame map is less accurate, but still has far, far, far higher fidelity than anything seen in GT. GT tracks are great, but I was merely responding to the person who said the iRacing version is "different" from the "real track." And whether or not GT tracks look better than iRacing tracks is highly up for debate, at least when it comes to Daytona.. same with Indy actually. I'm not saying which one is better, but both have great qualities that the opposing versions lack that make them both look amazing in their own ways.

Wait, so the layout isn't as accurate, but the surface of the road is? If, say, a straight on a track is 1 km long in real life, but shorter in iRacing, where does the additional surface detail for the missing length of the straight go into the game? It's just absent? And if the straight in iRacing is longer than in real life, then where does the additional surface detail come from? They just make it up?

The HSV-010 sounds like an old F1. Car looks sooo good and sounds good too ;)
