A Perfect Murder?

I could never kill someone because the guilt of my own mind would destroy me before the cops would ever catch up to me.

Remember that EVERY contact leaves a trace. Every time two objects touch one another, there is some evidence of that contact left on one or both objects.

That's all I remember from Forensics 101.

I don't personally think there is such a thing as a perfect crime; unless the detectives and police really bungle things up (tampered/missing/disposed evidence, for example).

Someone's always an expert, there's always a trail, and in many courts, a mountain of circumstantial evidence will convict you.

In the perfect murder, you'd never even be a suspect to have go to trial, or have circumstantial evidence against you. In the ultra-perfect murder, no-one would even think it was a murder in the first place...

Casio's plan is nice in that the sea erases your tracks - but you'd need to commit the crime at low tide - but leaves too much to chance (beaches are wide open spaces - ensuring that there are no witnesses, on land or at sea - is next to impossible, the body will be uncovered relatively quickly and leave no room for doubt that a murder occurred, the weapon leaves an entry wound and can be matched to your weapon, your actions in getting to and from the scene are likely out of the ordinary for you).

There are alot of unsolved crimes, I'm sure it's nowhere near impossible to commit the perfect murder.

Pretty solid, and you're on the right track, but here are the flaws I noticed, in chronological order:

1. You're relying a bit too much on her actions.
2. When do you put on gloves in this whole process? Are you paying attention to what you're touching? (even if you clean the place)
3. **Most emergency exits trigger alarms of some kind.**
4. If the beach is shallow, how do you carry her out far enough to be hidden? What if the ropes break?
5. **You've left tire tracks in the sand and tracks of wet sand to the boardwalk, possibly leading to an underwater search and the discovery of the Camry which is -- surprise surprise -- registered under your name.**
6. **A connection between you and your victim would be drawn pretty quickly when you're found driving her car.**

Hmm. Yeah you are right. I think I'll try another one with some better planning.

Oh btw once we figured this out, why not put it on Wikipedia "How to commit a perfect murder", I bet we can make an easy walkthrough out of it. Murderers just need to print it out, and follow the instructions and they will have a perfect kill in no-time!💡

Isn't there a film or a book about how to commit a perfect murder that got banned? I seem to remember watching a documentary about it years ago.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.
