Both of which are fantastically fantastic. So fantastic that I can use the same word three times within a sentance and a half. :D
Fantastic? Pfft. Try awesome.

The only problem with an Omni would be finding a decent one, which these days is practically impossible. If you could, though, it would essentially be like having a lighter, somewhat less good handling Shadow.

Hyundai S'coupes are great little cars, but they are also rare. They weren't sold here that long, the good ones weren't that common, and they were sold when Hyundai was still known for making the Excel. If you can't find one, a good alternative would be an early Tiburon with the 2.0L engine in it. 140 HP, a lot lighter weight than the current car and pretty sporty handling. Probably pretty cheap, too.

I like the Hyundai, and they'd be cheap to buy and reletively reliable. The Nova, eh I would have to drive one. Dodge Omni is a yes, if you can find one that isn't junked. :D I'm only a fan of the 1st gen DSM, and even then the Talon TSi was/is my favorite. I just wish America got the FTO instead of the Eclispe/Laser/Talon. 👍
The Hyundai is pretty cool and it makes an impressive growl from 3000 and up. It also seems to be a total ripoff of a '91 Integra. When you aren't beating on it, it get's 36 mpg too! 👍 And I was going to suggest the Conquest/ Starion as a plausible suggestion. They are great cars as long as the Turbo doesn't detonate on you. I used to have pics of what that looked like. :ill:

It would also be entertaining if you could find a lightweight musclecar to toss around. Maybe a '65 Nova, or a totally stripped down Galaxy 500. Or a Rambler coupe...maybe a '60's Falcon with 5.0 sourced power? ;)

You could try a 280Z but they're kinda bulky and underpowered. A 240SX but the Fast and The Stupid crowd are starting to really eat them up now.

Cheers,

You could try a 280Z but they're kinda rust and more rust.
Fixed.

I just had a thought: What about an S12 200SX? One would usually go for a lot less money than the 240SX does (perhaps because they aren't remembered by anyone in particular in modern culture), and it isn't really any slower (due to the big V6 they had that was pulled out of the 300ZX). Due to the parts sharing with other, more well known Nissans, it would probably be cheap to make them even faster, too.

Don't forget that the S12 200SX was infact RWD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/200sx#S12

If I could find one again, that would be high on my list. So many cars so little availability. :indiff: At least my field of choices is quite large. Plus, you never know what you can find on craigslist :D

You could get an S12 with a V6? Thought they all had 4-banger CA engines... (looks it up)... wicked... a Silvia with a V6?

The S12 is a nice car (we used to have one), handles well, very light. Modifying the carburated V6... hmmmm... I'd say 200 bhp or more would be possible with some choice mods. But I'd really prefer the lighter CA18 turbo... lots of power potential with simple tweaks, making you competitive in whatever class it'd land you in. Of course, good freaking luck finding performance parts for the CA. An SR20DET swap (simple and cheap) would be great, but might put you in a class with some really fast runners.

Did you guys get the Starion? Better than a Cordia could ever hope to be.

We did didn't we? Surely it would be better than the Cordia, but I can only imagine much more expensive also.

:( My suggestions always get ignored by JCE :(

I'll just stop trying.:P
