Brought an '07 GT-R, that turned out to be a mistake. Took the lead halfway through and won by some ridiculous margin. London's amusing enough to retry a bit with some slower cars, though, so it should be good for some fun.

As everyone says, this Seasonal is quite easy since we can over-match the AI cars with 550PP beasts!:)

My first run leads to a 30 second win since the lead AI takes 5 mins and 34 seconds, so I wonder if I can make it more interesting without resorting to a low-powered car.

I wonder if I can lap the field, but with a twist.đź’ˇ

So, for my second race, I slam on the brakes as soon as the flag drops, and then drive in reverse for two corners.:dopey:

The lead AI comes around the track and runs into the back of my car, allowing the 2nd place AI to take over the race lead. I stay stationary until the entire eleven-car field drives past. so I'm now a full lap down to the entire field.:nervous:

I then push the accelerator to the floor and chase off after the field. At the end of lap # 1, I get the news that I'm still a lap down to the race leader but I'm making good headway in reeling him in.:) At the beginning of lap # 5, I'm still about 10 seconds behind the race leader:nervous: but I'm running fast laps so victory is within sight. With two corners to go on lap # 5, I catch the race leader and cross the Finish line with 2 second lead over a totally surprised Mazda RX-7 Type RS.:)

The Mazda RX-7's race time was a pokey 6:26.xxx

Because the AI didn't think I was any threat, they drove slowly for the entire race.

The Mazda RX-7 ran the following laps:

Lap1... 1:14.716
Lap2... 1:16.817
Lap3... 1:18.421
Lap4... 1:18.840
Lap5... 1:15.488

Great fun!:)
I lapped the entire field!:mischievous:

Did they intend the PP limit to be 550? Seemed way too high considering the opposition, I entered with a 550PP Z4 which proved to be way too much.

Well, it IS supposed to be a "Beginners" level event. Yes, for you or I, who have much experience with the game, this race seems to be way too unbalanced. Maybe it is even for beginners...I don't know. Usually the A-Spec Beginner Level races aren't quite this unbalanced.

Tried it with a Citroën C4 (385 PP) and still managed to win which means you're allowed to enter with a stock GT-R, Gallardo or 430 Scuderia but can win with anything you find at the parking lot of your local supermarket.

I have done it twice, once in a Toyota FT-1 and once in a SEAT lbiza cupra, both won by over 10s.
Third time in a VW New Beetle 2.0 won by 1.9s againsts a Skyline R32

Any chance you could toss a Blur Filter on that photo, in Photoshop? :D Just kidding...Nice time with the Beetle. đź‘Ť I've been running this race quite a bit tonight. I'm glad because I've always enjoyed this course, but I rarely would ever drive it when I'm solo driving/tuning etc...

Used the prize car Cizeta V16T '94 (completely stock) which was a very easy but still fun win on 1st attempt.

Nothing better than the glory of wiggling through London with a car that has an insatiable desire to kill its driver. V16T--the V stands for Vampire because the thing will suck the life out of anyone not prepared for the challenge.

I think this is the first time I voluntarily used my 15th Anniversary Cizeta V16T for anything! My winning time of 5:44.516 was 2.895s faster than the FT-86 Concept that finished in 2nd place. Not very good, I know... I was white-knuckled around every corner with this thing. It was't quite as bad as I thought it would be. I'm wondering if the lack of undulations on this course helped me keep the nose pointed forward? :D :boggled:

Notes :

The Audi R8 GT is the sportier version of the vanilla R8, with lighter weight and more power, it can be said that the R8 GT is like Superleggera version of the Lamborghini :P

This replica is aimed to replicate the lap time posted at MotorTrend 2011 Best Driver's Car. For this build, I provided 2 suspension setup. The main suspension setup is based on H&R Coilover for Audi R8 GT, while the 2nd is based on stock suspension. Both are running the same camber and toe alignment.

H&R Coilover Kit comes with 742lb/in or 130N/mm front and 571 lb/in or 100N/mm rear spring rate based on infos gathered. To accommodate the softer rear springs, damper and ARB has been tweaked to give better balance.

For stock suspension setup : the Audi R8 GT uses Eibach Springs, the front spring rate is known at 110N/mm or 628lb/in, ID 70mm and 200mm length based on a report from an owner who took a look at the spring markings, unfortunately no such information available for rear springs. I have to make an estimation on the rear springs by cross referencing Eibach ERS catalogue and decided on 120N/mm or 658lb/in spring. I taken into account the Gallardo stock spring rate ratio :) The chosen spring rate works very well for the car, and I tuned the damper to be firm, precise, yet easy to ride on the edge. The Audi R8 GT features sports manual adjustable coilover system with 10mm lower ride height than stock vanilla R8 as standard from factory. The R8 GT factory alignment also has higher base camber front and back at 1.5, with similar toe alignment as stock R8.

The LSD is 2 way at the rear, similar in arrangement as Lamborghini Gallardo with mechanical locking differential at the rear axle that provides up to 25 percent lockup when accelerating and up to 40 percent on the overrun/coast.
I have no confirmation on the front LSD, the GT6 stock LSD has the front with some locking, so I decided to use LSD setup with 25% lock at the front axle ( 1 way ) - this will be the main LSD setup, with optional open front LSD listed as well.

The rear wing of the real R8 GT can't be replicated as there's no rear wing available in GT6 :(, but the fixed aero values makes that moot, the R8 GT replica has more than enough downforce to make it stays planted at high speed, one of the key differences the Gallardo SL replica :D

I tuned and tested the Audi R8 GT H&R at Tsukuba, Red Bull Ring and Laguna Seca. The main goal is to replicate or beat the Randy Pobst lap record at Laguna Seca during the MotorTrend 2011 Best Driver's Car event. Randy posted 1:36.39s while the replica driven by me, managed 1:36.256. I have included the replay for reference.

UPDATE 1.15 : Corrected toe values.

Settings used:

No Aids, No ABS, Brake Balance: 5/5, G27
Power Limiter: 99.5% (550PP)

 Comfort hard  I did it recently with Aventador at 1700+kg, detuned and on SH tire, the Lambo is far too much for the AIs. Won by large margin, even with me driving recklessly.

I went with a 400pp Renault sport Clio V6 thinking it would make me work for the win. Sad to say that was not the case. I sailed to victory without a hitch. After the race i had to go to the car settings page to see if i picked the wrong car. I had the right tune set at 400pp.

This event proved to be too easy for my liking.

I've been trying these events in different cars, regardless of the PP limit. My own car (and one before it) is an Audi A4 so I used the closest thing, the S4 '03. Waste of time really, it blitzed the field.

There has to be a balance PD can find, at the moment they are way off. It seems that when Gold takes more than 5 attempts, it is deemed too hard for the casual racer. Likewise though, turning up in Lamborghini's / Ferrari's / GT-R's when you've seen the entry list is bizarre to me if you aren't just securing the paint chip and then leaving.

They did it quite nicely before by tempering the payout based on your chosen cars PP level. Let the casual gamer max out a car to 550PP and pay them less, whilst some simple wording in the description for the event could suggest a challenge for this event resting at the 400PP limit.

Just wondering why is the pp higher for the beginners race than the intermediate? Don't recall that happening before.Anyway, started with the "hard" one, as I do, using the Miura, set at allowable pp. Went well. Used it again in the intermediate, with a few tweeks. Passed the whole field first lap, hhhhhhhhhmmmmm. Decided to go the tri-fecta and do the beginners with it as well. Far too easy, although given this track's seasonal history, you just don't know what to expect. Now just using lowest powered cars on all new seaonals for fun. I expect the next time trials to be difficult.

I was too lazy to change my car and used my Evoque @ 500pp that I'd been using in the Eiger TT. Needs a bit more Brake/Lift off rotation for this this track, but that hardly matters with a win of almost 7 seconds.

I was keen to get on to the Classics race, but I think I'll come back to London with something old and under powered.

A little run around The Big Smoke, in my 400pp Honda 1300 - after a quick blast down the M1, hot from its Silverstone debut.

The clumsy NSX was no competition (or should I say the clumsy NSX driver was no competition) in the fast corners after retaking me on the S/F straight. Win by around .7.

I was thinking the same thing when I started using these tunes from a recent FITT challenge.(link here) I was thinking that 450pp should give a slight challenge, but after using the top 3 tunes, it's either that the FITT guys made a London monster(forward/reverse) or the event itself is easy. I think it's the first one!:P

Some of the FITT tunes are simply amazing to drive.

I thought for sure that running a 400pp car would pose a challenge, but sadly no.

Might have to dip even lower. I need to know just how low i can go.. :sly:

Try 345pp.

My record is still 330 PP. Anything lower is kei car area, but they are too slow :(

@Lionheart2113 @LordJCS (and anyone else) as I mentioned the Silverstone thread, dropping your tyres one or two levels in these 'easy' races can make things more even without the hare (or rabbit) and tortoise aspect of running super low PP.
