:lol::lol::lol: Johnny I don't defend PD or advocate not having difficulty sliders ( can't remember ever saying that:boggled: ) Just said" I enjoy the game as it is."

Yeah nah :indiff: can't recall that post :dopey: Don't know where I got that Idea from :dunce: Yeah think I must have leaped at that one ;)
Doing these seasonals and TT,s by the way ?

Good luck with your dream of a GT that is all and everything that you ever wanted it to be ( yeah like thats ever gonna happen):lol::lol:

Thanks for the banter Johnny I'll get back to playing the game
You can't recall the post because I never said anything like that. I don't like TT's and since I don't need money (money glitched early on) I have no reason to run the Seasonals. My only interest is in racing with real people and unfortunately real life stepped up and bit me in the arse all summer long and I had no time to enjoy any games, let alone GT6. Hotlapping in general is not fun for me, and in GT in particular it's even less fun. I skipped most of the GT5 TT's and only put serious effort into 1 of them for GT6, the early one at SSR5.

I'm aware that most of what I'm asking of the GT series won't likely ever come to pass, it is after all a console game directed to satisfy the most common denominator, the casual player. I believe Kaz doesn't want to ever run the risk of even the hint of the game being too "difficult" or being misinterpreted as such, hence why you have 2 lap QM's, SRF on, lame AI etc. Even adding "Pro Mode" or something similar, you run the risk of casual players stumbling across a review of the "Pro Mode" on a gaming site and assuming that's the entire game and giving it a pass as a result. As you say, it is what it is, and anyone looking for some more serious simulation or hardcore racing will likely have to look elsewhere for that.

Have you looked into iRacing? From everything I read it's the pinnacle of online racing against humans. The iRating System and other ways that they track drivers is incredible. Unfortunately, it's a monthly charge and a fairly expensive game if you want all the cars and tracks that interest you. Plus, you need a fairly decent PC to run it.

I know that you're more than aware of what iRacing is...I'm just curious if you've looked into it (actually played it) and what your opinion is of the RACING compared to Gran Turismo. GT6 is my first foray into the Gran Turismo world and online racing at all. I have the typical complaints of using public rooms. I finally joined a small group of good, clean racers who get together once a week, but for fun and the love of it more than actually giving a crap who wins. I've thought about joining SNAIL and I'm sure I will some day.

If I really start to love online racing, I'm sure I will end up on iRacing one of these days. Unfortunately, I DO like hotlapping and just being able to select any one of 1,200 cars that Gran Turismo offers and drive around until I get too tired. I think, even if I do join iRacing someday, that I will need a backup game for "casual" stuff. Maybe it will be Gran Turismo, maybe it will be a different PC based "sim"...

Tried a heavily tuned midget - Won with some defence on straights :embarrassed:

Even more fun was a tuned Schwimmwagen - Won with a big grin :D

Old Mini Cooper (tuned), won again with a grin big enough for two faces :gtpflag:

So many fun machines mentioned in this discussion, giving me lots and lots of ideas - but the Schwimmwagen is being mentioned over and over - so I guess I have to take that beast for a spin and simulate what would happen if we actually tried this in RL.

As for the Midget - easier said than done. :D But OG, so much fun. Obviously would be a total hoot if we were to take a real hopped-up Midget to a race like this in RL and thrash those little :censored:boxes that are being driven by some obviously sadistic driving instructors.

And talking about Swimmwagens - if you are a fan - check this out (already sold, so not really an ad:)

Makes me really want to drive one - and this event is a great excuse to do so.

Great link!!! What a bevvy of pics 👍

I really want one now, and for GT6 to have a special rally stage with some water for a special Schwimmwagen only short cut

OMG - you wouldn't believe what a heck of a time I had with the Schwimmwagen - took it out bone-stock, could only come 3rd, finally tinkered with it (as realistically as possible) to double the HP and get top speed up to 99 MPH and then I creamed that bunch of stragglers at Suzuka with the Elise 111R as the rabbit. Was on the edge of my seat.
