I managed this in the Alpine Vision de-tuned with time to spare (caught the 3 leaders middle of lap 4... which I smashed the course at 1:41, but averaged 1:43). Before that tried a Corvette ZO6 and managed only 6th and the 430 Scuderia and 3rd place. I kept trying small, light cars but no luck. In the race I won, a Zonda was 3rd, Corvette ZR1 2nd, and 2013 Viper 1st.

You will win as I am working to do the same with a small, light car and have come close to winning a few times. Best of luck to you!!

#$% this @#$#$%? seasonal $%#$@%@#

Goddamn was this a frustrating one. I started out with the ZZII, but found this track didn't suit it. Then I spent the last week trying out like 15 different cars to no avail. Either they were light and agile, but had insufficient torque, or they had the torque, but were either too heavy or unstable.

Then I went back to the ZZII and it turns out all it needed was a couple changes here and there and it was the perfect car. Goddamnit.

Anyway, made a low 1:40 and 8:58 overall and I'm done here. **** this seasonal, seriously.

My experience precisely!

I have had so much fun with this seasonal. I have never been a big fan of Côte d'Azur but I think this has changed during the past week and a half. The track is to my surprise very fluent and enjoyable to drive. And the fact that it is so narrow and has walls on both sides makes it only interesting IMO. Huge fun to try different spots and strategies for clean overtaking.

I'm already starting to feel sad that in a couple of days this fun will end. Fingers crossed that the next set of races will be as enjoyable as this one.

There is no way I will have time to try all the cars that I would have wanted to. Here is what I've won with so far:

Car --------------------------------- Race time--Winning margin

ZZII '00 ----------------------------- 8:37.016 -- 24.227
GT-R Black edition '12 ---------------- 8:40.204 -- 19.510
R8 4.2 FSI R tronic '07 --------------- 8:46.228 -- 8.101
Ferrari Enzo '02 ---------------------- 8:46.507 -- 30.504
Gallardo LP 560-4 '08 ----------------- 8:46.630 -- 20.392
Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür (R34) '02 -- 8:50.161 -- 16.915
X-BOW R '12 ------------------------- 8:53.756 -- 6.111
Roadster RS (NC) '07 ----------------- 8:53.938 -- 0.717
Impreza Coupe 22B-STi Version '98 ---- 8:56.186 -- 4.251
RAM 1500 Laramie Hemi Quad Cab '04 -- 8:56.598 -- 3.072
Corvette Z06 (C6) '06 ----------------- 8:59.759 -- 15.317
Camaro Z28 '69 ----------------------- 9:02.706 -- 1.840
Tacoma X-Runner '07 ----------------- 9:03.129 -- 9.685
Stratos '73 --------------------------- 9:04.481 -- 1.142
Integra Type R (DC2) '99 -------------- 9:04.723 -- 1.113
Firebird Trans Am '78 ------------------ 9:05.254 -- 3.128
ZZ-S '00 ------------------------------ 9:05.508 -- 0.119

And also there has been some attempts that did not go as planned..

Car -------------------------------- Race time -- Losing margin

Elise Type 72 ----------------------- 9:03.655 -- 2.946
180SX Type X '96 ------------------- 9:13.536 -- 14.709
Focus ST '13 ----------------------- 9:15.389 -- 13.396
Celica 2000GT-FOUR (ST165) '86 ---- 9:15.875 -- 19.130
El Camino SS 396 '67 --------------- 9:20.888 -- 18.337

And a few others that went so bad that I aborted the race.

All in all, nice races to be had for everyone if only one takes his time to choose a car suitable for his own skill level. Going to miss this one.

Good job in the gtr, I can't really drive anything but mr cars at this track.

Trying it in the focus st is pretty ambitious, lol

I agree 200% !!

the Ram is a handful but a blast to beat the supercars with.
One car I haven't seen anyone mention is the Nissan R390 road car..it handles really good but it lacks a bit of acceleration. after about 4 or 5 tries and taking alot of downforce off it I was able to get the win with it
Other cars I've tried
Jaguar XKR-S ..handles and sounds great..but my best is 3rd with it
Aston Martin One-77...lacks acceration...2nd
Subaru 04 WRX Sti.. easy winning car
Mercedes SLS AMG...another with lackluster performance..3rd and a 4th
BMW M3 GTR ...narrow win..handles pretty good
Honda NSX-R Lm road car..several wins with it
Ruf RGT...seems like a really good car but I have only been able to get 2nd n 3rd with it
Suzuki GSX..first car I won the event with but it took a fewwwwwww tries
the ZZ1 of course ...always seems to win by the biggest margin

Cockpit race. Nissan GT-R Black edition '12. No aids. Parts and tune to tranny. No cross cutting Nouvelle Chicane. As clean a race as I was able to have with this challenge at Cote d Azure.P1 Lamborghini Murcielago. P2 Mercedes Benz SLR. P3 Mercedes Benz SLR.

Wow, great job, impressive video. Very clean race, you're a gentleman. Respecting the AI on this event is a challenge! Your path is very pure. Do you like to drive on Monaco? I really love this track, will miss this event.

I am humbled by all your comments and wish only much success for you!! And yes I couldn't find better words from MTM79. Yes, Monaco is one of the great tracks ever!!

I too have had great fun with this race.. After I started using some of the driving aids, which I had never used before this race, I began winning quite consistently by large margins. I liked the McLaren MP4-12C, and I stuck with it. Once I felt I had some experience with the track and the aids, (and collected enough credits ) I went back to my personal challenge of racing with no driving aids at all. Lap times went from 1:40.xxx back up to 1:46.xxx but I am happy being able to drive Monaco with no driving aids, not hitting the walls or guards, and not crashing into the AI's.

Talk about working up a sweat.. 👍 Driving this track, with these competitors, and with no aids is somewhat stressful!!

Yep, I think I am going to miss this one too!!

:gtpflag: FUN!!

I've been using my usual all stock no aids approach with several cars but only one became my favorite for Cote: the Alpine VGT. Cockpit cam no HUD- freakin awesome ride. Could get close but no win. Finally I turned on ABS and what a difference. Lost 3 or more seconds per lap and defied the laws of physics braking like an idiot. Won several times after that pretty easily. I like the KTM here as well, most other stock cars understeer too much for me at this venue.

However, I think they really botched the AI for this event. I sure don't mind a fast pace but that magic boost they attain is plain silly. Who thought us "experts" would enjoy that. Ok, ok I won't hit the AI ever, ever, ever again. Happy now?

Very happy :sly:. IIRC, every car I've run on Côte d'Azur was Praiano's tuned except the Spyker tuned by myself. Shall try some stock cars if I find enough time... (VGT are not my glass of beer)

Winning in the alpine with only abs is mighty impressive. I tried it with a ds3, and the car makes so much torque without traction control it had a tendency to spin tires like crazy and not accelerate, especially uphill. That might not be an issue with a wheel.

If anyone can win this in the veyron I'll give them 10 points.

Ruf RGT...seems like a really good car but I have only been able to get 2nd n 3rd with it

After reading your post, I decided to try the RUF RGT '00. The RGT is really fast on this track! Check your setup, because I won with my own setup, which means a really good tune and a clean run should result in a win. Good luck should you try the RGT again.

She's a little beat up from trying to catch up to and passing the Zonda.....

I'm using Prianos tune for it and it just seems to slide a little much for my liking. I just tried the Ctr2 and loved it. Caught the Zonda in the chicane on the last lap. He actually short cutted the chicane and slammed into the wall right in front of me..I slammed into his quarter panel and spun him backwards lol

A fun and quick try I threw together is the Mazda RX7 Spirit R Type A. I changed oil and put a flat floor in it,weight reduction 3, windows and hood
Power 87.1%
sport computer
sport exhaust
intake tuned
mid range turbo
Diff 7/20/7..just guessing intial setup..I'm sure it can be better
Carbon shaft and triple clutch
Full Trans..just set the slider over to 137mph( I'm sure it can be improved)
Height adjustable suspension
I only changed camber to 0/0
and Toe to -0.005/0.08
I caught the Gt40 rabbit right before the chicane and blocked him the rest of the final lap..crossed the finish line with him trying to knock on rear bumper off

Tried it with a Veyron, but at 550PP it is too choked to be fast. I deemed the race pointless and quit it before finish line.

Lol, I got fourth against a weak field of competition. Think my best lap was 1:43, it's so slow

So honest You are my good man 👍

Just had a go at this race. It was easily the most difficult and frustrating Seasonal Single Race I've ever tried. Took about 7 consecutive tries with 4 different cars before finally getting past the "Rabbit" on the last lap in a Honda NSX-R LM Road Car (Out-braked him going down into the Harbor Chicane and hung on even though the AI decided to try and run me off the road at the Hairpin and spun out). What was most unusual was that the car I had run the fastest single laps and had the quickest overall time with (A Tommy-Kaira ZZII) was around 14 seconds behind 1st & 2nd... Yet, the NSX-R that was 2-3 seconds a lap slower and had a 10 second-slower overall time ended up being the winning run...?

Oh, and the common "No grip/AI gain a million HP and pit you if you so much as touch them" complaints as well, but an interesting thing I noted was that the less I hit the barriers and stuck to the AI's "Normal" driving line, the slower they ran, with the wining run the cleanest I did... Yet, try to run a car around like a rally car and clang barriers and the whole field speeds up, with the top 2 cars turning into "Rabbits" the more you mess up...

Conspiracy theories aside, if THAT is what PD think an "Expert" Seasonal should try to be I'll pass on future ones.

Strange, my total time is near to yours, but look at the difference with the Zonda and the Viper SRT10 .

photo.JPG

The difference in times for the Viper SRT10 ACR is probably because driver, A. Reilly was racing me harder, trying to get revenge for all the times I put him in the wall!

Nice time with the RGT. 👍

Thanks DR! Yes, it does seem that if you have a clean race, the AI won't need neuroleptic drugs to calm down (as @Kingofweasles mentioned above too). Only a few hours left on Monaco... sad. Hope the next seasonals will please me as much as the last batch.

Have a nice drive everybody
