This is one Seasonal I will not be doing.
27 second head start for the lead car and racing hards? 3 laps? AI who constantly get in my way? Time penalties that seem to apply only to me?
This isn't a race, this is a farce. And the creator of this event is nothing more than an asshole.

I've already spent weeks trying to break the Le Mans lap record, and now this? No thanks.

Even J. Fitzpatrick has the courage to try this event and you don't? C'mon mate, it's not that difficult.

I didn't know that a Minolta 88C-V and Pescarolo C60 Hybride could go over 250 mph?!? :odd:

I was in a Chaparral 2X VGT and I know it can go 250 mph easily, but those 2 where right on my ass for 1.5 laps after I passed them.

A 1 or 2 second lead just disappeared like that and I'm like "Are You Kidding Me!!!" That's

I just did it yesterday and it wasn't that hard, I passed the car in first and it didn't take off after me, so my question is What happen between yesterday and today that made it

Relax, this is actually very easy:

Oh yeah don't get me wrong - I'm well aware it isn't impossible, and I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to do it.
My problem is that it's 3 laps of Le Mans, with a big head start given to the lead car and (as proven in your screen shot) most of us will overtake said lead car just before the finish line (or have a pretty small lead by the end after just overtaking P1).

That's not a race. I'm sick of PD doling out these missions and calling them races. So many tracks, so many cars, but they just can't seem to bring themselves to giving us some decent FAIR races. It's the same rabbit chase over and over.
And the whole time penalty nonsense just to add to the frustration is the most galling part. In my first try earlier I was on the 3rd lap, closing in on the lead, just reached the second chicane of Mulsanne only to be rammed from behind, slid onto the sand with a time penalty while the car that rammed me sped off into the distance
2nd try and a similar thing happened at Indianapolis - I was rammed into a wall, and given a time penalty. Couldn't get my car sorted out because I was basically glued to the barrier.
I gave up.

I don't understand why they don't just release some decent races. Why not go balls to the wall and release some endurance races? That move alone would have us fans beside ourselves with joy. Alas, it's the same tired script over and over again.

What is the best car for this? Cant decide between Chaparral 2X and Judd. What car u guys used or recommend?
Sauber Mercedes C9

I didn't do any research, just picked a the Sauber Mercedes which already had a Praiano tune loaded up. I drove terribly yet still won on my first try by a decent margin. I imagine I could've used one overall several tuned 700pp race cars and won just as easily (and I'm an average driver, many a tiny bit better than average).

Once again we see how horrible the GT6 Seasonal Races are. The expert race last month was a rare gem in that you had to drive very well to win unless you you were racing against one of the slow rabbits.

Just venting here, but in GT5 we'd get 5 new expert races with a common them like Ferrari's under 600pp or Japanese 80's road card. Some of the races were relatively easy but some were very hard. You usually at least have to put in some time and do some homework to find the right car and tune to win at least one of the 5 races. However, in GT6 we get inky 3 races every month. A begginer and intermediate race that are ridiculously easy, plus an expert race that is usually easy enough to win on your first try. So after waiting 28 days for some new content, you've won all new races in 20 minutes.

Finally, in GT5, the Seasonals would stay posted for a year I believe, or several months at least. But with GT6, once the new races are posted, the old ones are deleted.

If/when a GT6 comes out, I will not buy it if my Logitech wheel isn't compatible with the PS4. I bought my wheel roughly 9 months before GT6 was released, and it was money well spent. However, if I had spent close to a G on a wheel just for GT6, I would've been very disappointed.

If anyone from PD is reading this, I think I can safely say 95% of GT6 racers agree with me so please do something to remedy the situation!
@chrisdittmer the Sauber is going to be my ride. Thank you for posting this.

Got this with Mazda LM55

To all of you saying this event is easy, I recommend to try finish without any penalties, touchings, being touched or any other mistakes, and then come back and repeat how it's easy.

If you make mistakes only because you don't get harsh enough penalties, you're not doing it right.

I didn't take any penalties, that's why my lap time is 10 seconds behind my time trial last month. And that time trial is the reason why this is an easy race, unless you didn't spend anytime on the TT.

It has been like that since the beginning of GT6. Actually I already took the lead right after lap 2, but could not get away from it.(by design) That's why I only won by seconds.

Yeah, so I couldn't help myself...

I've just done it there now with the Speed 8 and also took the lead immediately after lap 2 (Minolta was the lead car). I, too, could not increase the gap - kind of annoying that I can emaciate 24 seconds in 2 laps but then a 1-second gap remains until the end... just to fabricate tension I suppose. I won by 0.702 seconds.

@coryclifford - no chance :D
I still love the game. I've still got every copy of Gran Turismo from the very start (2 copies of GT5; Signature and Academy edition). I play the game on a daily basis, just buying cars and hot lapping nowadays. There's no other game that gives me the same experience from driving.
The seasonal events are an annoyance, just feels like such a missed opportunity.

No problem bro. I used the Sauber again today and even though I had many penalties (mostly shortcut) I won by 5 seconds. I imagine any of the fast 700pp Praiano tunes can win this race if you can keep in clean. I'm not even a good driver but I'm 2 for 2 on this cheesy easy race. Last month's expert race was way tougher. This one is just faster.

Changed my mind. This was easy with the Minolta. I was in first place at the start of lap 3 and won by 8 seconds. It was not be as fast as the Sauber, but it shakes a lot less and handles a lot better. You can't lose in this car unless you have a bad wreck.

To all of you saying this event is easy, I recommend to try finish without any penalties, touchings, being touched or any other mistakes, and then come back and repeat how it's easy.

I got the gold on the first lap with the LM55, didn't push the car, didn't know my braking points (damn hidden signs), no penalties, nice and easy. I did have to do some blocking here and there at the end, but I just wanted the win, so I was content with it.

Then I tried the event about 15 more times, trying to get a really good time, pushed the car and got several penalties, and the AI were just monsters.

Now, I'm not saying I'm great at Gran Turismo, but I can put down a pretty damn good time when I put my mind to it, and I'm getting beat up every lap by the AI, they're coming up on me like I'm sitting still, and I'm barely winning by blocking? I can see how the average, or even above-average user would totally hate this event.

Me? I've been doing GT long enough to know when a race is going to make me want to crush my controller, and in those instances I get gold and don't go back. This is one of those events.

Your lap times are 10 seconds slower mostly because last month you were allowed to use SOFT race tires, while for this event you are allowed to use only HARD race tires. In addition to that, this event has (stubborn) opponents for you to pass.

My point was to pass them cleanly, no touches during the race, and don't allow them to touch you from behind, because in a better simulation race scenario, that will be a puncture or damage on your carbon fiber bodywork.

The real challenge is to avoid contact by any means (contact doesn't punish you with penalties), keep the car on the track (two wheels on the black stuff at any time) and be fast.

Otherwise, even grandma can finish the event, get the credits, the paint chip and the car. It's a matter of standards, I supposed.

the AI were just monsters.

Now, I'm not saying I'm great at Gran Turismo, but I can put down a pretty damn good time when I put my mind to it, and I'm getting beat up every lap by the AI, they're coming up on me like I'm sitting still

That's what I'm talking about.

I did have some slow traffic though and I also had no penalties.

I haven't tried that car yet, but the time is not bad at all... not bad. Beating that slow traffic makes this event interesting.

I raced the Peugeot 905Evo 1 Bis LM92, and slalomed the other cars for a little more than a lap.

This weekend I'll also post the replay.

Hi,

gold in the n-th try :D with Pescarolo C60 Hybride Judd '05.
caught the leading C60 in the very last corner.

"the move" D.

New favorite car--Mazda LM55 Gran Turismo. It gets up to 225+ on the straightaways and barely shakes. Also handles better than the Sauber or Minolta. I was in first before lap 3 and only had to fight him off once during the first section of the 3 straightaways. Drives great. I think this event could be won with half a dozen cars at least. That's not really much fun though. Certainly won't be fun for an entire month.

PS: You can set your traction control to zero with this ride and it won't even chirp. Praiano's tube is perfect as always.

PPS: 10:43 on my second try with one 3 second violation for the computer car ramming me?!?!

Easy race event, maybe be for the Time trial event of the last month, I'll stay in Motegi instead, for Me is more funny race with street cars and test its performance :P

If you want a ridiculous race by any measure... try the Chaparral 2x.

LOL. Just tried it (Chaparral 2X). Gold. That thing speeding like a sonic jet on nitro. 250something MPH on the stretch, and it could have gone faster too with more stretch eh. Forgot how much fun it was to drive that car since I hadn't driven it in a while. That was so much fun. haha.

LM55 is an easy win, even with a few bobbles.

Chapparel is sketchy, don't touch any grass AT ALL, then watch the Judd reel you in on the straights while your leading. But brake early and smooth and it will also win easily.

...now it's time to try the Corvette. :)

The Mercedes Sauber C9 '89 is not bad at all actually. Just golded with a 700PP tune from the legendary Praiano.
Zippy and very stable.

Damn, I considered going back to check my frustration level, but what a fantastic time. Crushing really. What tune are you using?
Got stubborn (not always working in my favor, but with racing is a charm) and improved to

3.14.011
3.12.849
3.11.205

youtube is slow on processing, so the replay will come tomorrow.

Tune - the one I used for the TT event, only changed the tires to Hard - Praiano's with few adjustments - I've changed the weight distribution with 47 kilos at -37.
