Good luck to those of you who can race this event. I tried this race with one arm... And I just am not good enough (yet) to win. Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that it has only been 8 days since my elbow surgery? Don't tell my doctor I took my cast off to race! Hopefully I will be able to compete with some of you guys in a few weeks...

Very tough, Sauber rabbit was running 1:29 - 1:30 laps so with a 16+ second handicap you need to do 1:27s or better to win.

OUCH!

Ugh. Last lap then suddenly, on the first 180 corner, BAM. Idiot 787B crashes to my back like it has no brakes.

I use a C60 Hybride... but what happens when PD gifts you a car and your garage is full?
Youll be prompted to sell/stockyard one of your existing car, then go back to immediately pick the car.

905B Evo1Bis LM '92 ABS/TC1 7.26.708 :gtpflag:
Much better handling then the Sauber and Pescarolo C60 Hybrid.
Keep it smooth. Don't hit anyone from behind and stay off the walls.
Awesome car.

If a player already has the prize car, there is still the chance to pick a paint chip they don't already have by picking a color. Then they could just sell the car if they don't want or need it. They end up with a chip, just like the other seasonals. In fact, they got to pick the chip color from several choices, which is a better deal than before... *shrugs* ...so now PD is offering up prizes that include credits, paint, AND a car. Seems like an awfully nice gesture to me...

Gonna give the Zytek a try at this, I think I'll walk away with it easy.

To hell with this damn race, the AI is so dirty its unbelievable AND its Tokyo Reverse. I can't even win here with the R92CP, nothing I do works. Just wasted the last few hours trying to win and all I've accomplished is aggravating myself even more.

Tried the zytek, too slow/underpowered.3rd is best I've got so far, but only done it 4 times. Seem to be matching others winning times, but still 7-8 sec behind. Guess I just need to speed up some. Ai are pretty intense.

The AI was clearly not designed to run these cars on this track. I've never seen them make so many mistakes before. They overshoot their braking zones (bad luck for you if you're in front of them), they stop in the middle of the track (I presume it's because they had a mishap and are politely waiting for the other cars to get by before they "rejoin the track" - only they're already right in the middle of the track, holding up the traffic).

Well, I'm doing this with the DeltaWing and the best so far is 2nd place. In my latest race I got to 1st right before the final straight and guess what happens? The 2nd place car makes a pit maneuver...

Here is a car which I have been told is capable of 1.24s

Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd '05 (700PP RH)

Link here

Only change to make to the tune is to set the Downforce to max.

Thanks for the tune Shaun, and I can verify that it can do 1.24s and once I do a few more laps (and am not dead tired - could be bad given I am actually racing in a few days in a car I am not at all familiar with!!!), I think it can easily do better. I was doing 1.27s for the first two laps in traffic getting used to the handling, cracked a 1.24 for lap 3 and low 1.25s for the last two laps, neither of which were anything to write home about. With some time to get used to/adjust the tune and get used to it on this track it will easily better 1.24s. Cheers:)

@shaunm80
Great tune! Just won with an overall time of 7,27 without traction control or ABS :)
Thanks. Very good overall time. No ABS too? Wowser.. you are braver than me, thats for sure.

Excellent lap time! Its good to see a lot of LMP events coming along. These cars can be quite fun. As long as the AI work within legal FIA driving standards that is :)

I used the pescarolo from @shaunm80 , i allready had his tune in my collection.

But i must say, these AI are so dirty racers, they got me into a 360 spin, but i got lucky and could recover to get a 1.023 second win.

Ah, yes. The famous Pit manoeuvre. I have had that done to me many a time on previous seasonal events. PD don't seem to learn from bad AI driving do they.

I don't know if it is a pit manoeuvre or just stupid "follow the programmed line, no matter what" ingame script.
