I came in second behind a GT 40 and a Shelby Cobra with my GT 350 today. Completely stock and for a first time without any driving aides. :) this car handles great. I'm going to change to a customizable tranny to see if i can catch the rabbits. It needz another gear. :) on a side note, i also tried a fully stock GT 40 with no aides and quit after two laps cause i was spinning, flying off track and doing flips and rolls and ****. Lol! I'm going to start using these seasonals to train muself hkw to drive without any driving aides. :)

Looks like matte silver would as close I've seen in gt6 that sadly was a seasonals paint reward do can't buy it.

I used my GT350R (531 PP) for my first attempt at this event and won with no problem. GT40 and Cobra were the rabbits. Switched over to the GT350 (500 PP) for the next round and still won first try. Thanks to shaunm80 for the tune on the GT350. Closest thing on the game to my actual 67 coupe.

Took me three tries with the 69 Camaro :banghead: :banghead: bad set up bad driving and vaguely knowing the track...found myself drifting thru some corners and not on purpose :dunce: but fun from start to finish

Btw I hate the sound of this car 🤬

Firebird Trans Am won on first try. Tbh, it's got no business beating a GT40. PD broke out the rubber bands for this one.

I'm thinking PD may have mixed up the max PP for the Intermediate and Advanced events. 500PP max for the Intermediate would tighten the field and eliminate the runaway Cobras and GT40.

Meanwhile 550PP max instead of 500 for the Toscana race opens the selection of decent rally cars.

Just a thought.

Has anyone else noticed how much the physics have improved for this class of car since GT5? I hated driving these things in that game. I've enjoyed this seasonal so much I have run every car that qualifies for it at least once, the XNR being the most fun of them all.

Oh. You were at the lab? I thought you were already at the doctor

Edit. Sorry for the double post. I thought I was in my text screen. That'll teach me to dictate text and drive GT six at the same time.

Just had a pretty good race using a completely stock (tires and all) Superbird against the GT40, losing by a mere 2 seconds. Pretty sure it can be won with a much smoother race, which I will try again later.

Good luck. I'll have to give the Superbird a go. I was pretty sure none of the others could beat the GT40 and Cobra stock but I'm often wrong about these things. Be sure to post your times in the stock thread if you manage it. Off to buy a Superbird now. 👍

Will do. 👍 I ran a couple of laps that were pretty sloppy so if I cleaned them up, pretty sure I could win. I'm going to go through all eligible cars that I won easily with, with the SS tires on and put the stock tires back on and see what I can do. Can't remember which, but there are a few that I am pretty confident I can win against the GT40 or Cobra 427.

Personally, im sticking to a 500pp and Sports Hards for this event. For those that like to try out a multitude of cars, the Chevy El Camino is a bit of a challenge to tune and drive. It has some unusual customization options too.

I re-ran the race with my newly purchased 1969 Camaro Z28, but this time I ran the car at 525PP, which is what Bowtie-Muscle's tune actually called for. I removed the Supercharger. The car actually drove a LOT nicer...easier. I was thrilled with how well it drove at 550PP, but there were some moments where I definitely had too much power for my own good. Particularly coming over the humps Turn 6 to Turn 7. With the 550PP Supercharger, I would be just shifting into 4th gear and the back end would get very squirrely. It led me to short-shifting into 4th a few times just for stability sake. Well, with the 525PP properly tuned version I could keep my foot to the floor. 100+ less ft/lb's of torque will sometimes accommodate you like that. :D Now, I'm off to purchase some more American Muscle and see how I can do running stock setups (I'll probably throw on SS tires for at least the first race, just to see how I hold up. :nervous: Then I'll go 100% stock, tires included).

EDIT: I just took my Challenger R/T '70 out for a spin and that dirty Ford GT40 tried to pit maneuver me TWICE! Unfortunately for him, my catlike reflexes saved my car from rolling around in the sand and I managed the victory by a few seconds. What a scumbag that driver is.

Yeah, he put the Bandit's Trans Am into the desert. I managed to recover and catch up, but yeah, what a blockhead.

The Trans Am here is a bullet, especially with the aero improvements. I'll post the tune I'm using. It's a real nail driver. Kind of like my 95 WS6 Formula, which was one of the most fun cars I've ever had.

Ran this one again with the trans am...it was much better for me than the 69 Camaro...gonna run the challenger and some others today...

I admit, I just beat it with the GT40 15th anniversary to get it out of the way because I'm kind of tired of Willow Springs. 42 seconds ahead of the leader seemed kind of silly though. I was about to lap a car by the end of the race. I'm not THAT good of a driver. I guess they decided to give people a break after the harder Christmas ones.

Yes, my recollection is that they were wallowy, jacked-up boats, but they feel much better now.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I really like Big Willow:)

I know they tend to pick Willow Springs quite often. For some reason, PD chooses to use the same handful of tracks over and over. I honestly can't remember a Seasonal Event being run on Fuji, for instance. However, with this current Intermediate Level Seasonal Event, what a lot of us have been doing to make the race a little bit more interesting is, we're driving cars tuned much lower than the 550PP limit. Try 500PP and I'm sure you'll have a much closer race. If that's still not doing it for you, try running on SH tires instead of SS.

I know it's absolutely pathetic that we have to come up with ways to make these A-Spec races more challenging, but it is what it is. What still bothers me though...Even if we drop to 500PP, for example, we are still only going to get competition from two or maybe three cars. The rest are just a distraction...rolling road blocks to drive around on the first lap and then they are insignificant. I've had one race so far where I had three cars on my tail at the end of the race. A GT40, Shelby Cobra and Shelby Cobra Chrome Line. Otherwise it's usually only two cars and often only the GT40. Sad...

I know you didn't play it, but in GT5 you were rewarded for this behaviour. PP difference bonus. The lower you could go the higher the pay out. I still practice this, and as you have discovered for yourself it presents a slightly better challenge. But now there's no more incentive than your own personal entertainment. The rewards could be huge, wish they brought it back....maybe just maybe.

I won using Challenger 440 R/T you get as a prize. I only beat the Cobra rabbit by 0.8 sec. My first 3 laps were horrible. Going into the 4th lap I was behind about 18 seconds but the last two laps were very clean. Overall it was fun
