I read in this thread about going for the fastest overall time. The was talk about getting under 7 minutes. Well I tried today and was basically 10 seconds short of getting below 7 minutes. This was the fastest overall time I've run. I ran my Cobra with @GhostRider65 tune. I lost that time by pushing too hard and had a couple of off road excursions. I don't expect to be the fastest but the idea is fun as it makes the event have more appeal. I see that @fordlaser and @ROCKET JOE have run in the 50's. I congratulate them 👍 I will continue to try and get below 7 minutes.

I've posted the following by mistake in the AI Hub thread before  ... until @Baron Blitz Red ( thx again m8 ) made clear that I'd used the wrong car for that event.
It's a tuned Ford GT '66 - and it took some time to find the race where you don't have to run too many circles 'round the AI.

The Ford is exceptional fast and a pleasure to drive, so maybe you want to give it a try ?

I'm in the neighborhood, can't believe I'm faster ( for now) than @fordlaser, I know you'll pass me here shortly!! I'll keep refining my tune. Speaking of which @Jeje6410 thank you so much for wonderful tune!! It clarified a few things for me and allowed me to start going in the right direction with my tune, thank you again my friend for all your hard work on this tune. Keep up the hard work everyone.

Had to try one of the worst cars in the line up, good luck to anyone else who try's this car, I turned it into a drifter early on in the game, if that's any clue to how it handles!!!

@Wolf68 I used a modified @GhostRider65 tune and had an overall time of 7.32. I know you could make it much faster than I. I use a DS3 and this tune was really good for me. I'd be glad to share it, since I did make some changes. It certainly won't join the sub 7 second party but is a fun car to drive. If you would like the tune just let me know.

Thanks a lot my dear friend @Wolf68 . It's a real pleasure for me that you have liked this car and you have been more faster than Fordy. Thanks again my dear friend for yours comments and your enjoy.

I just ran the GT40 with tunes by @Jeje6410 and @GhostRider65. Both cars are exceptional.👍👍👍 They both handle very well and the transmission gearing is also exceptional. I broke the 7 minute barrier with @Jeje6410 and would have done the same or better with @GhostRider65 tune. When I ran the race with @Ghostrider tune I got tangled up with the 2nd and 3rd place AI at the lefthander where you go up the hill to the decreasing radius right hand turn. Both of the AIs were side by side and I went wide to go around them and had both right side tires in the dirt which cause the car to lose balance and almost rolled it. Both tune are excellent and I'm sure after having driven both I am certain I can get in the 50's with both. Bravo to both @Jeje6410 and @GhostRider65 for these wonderful tunes. Since there was no oil change in either of the tunes I ran both on the same car. With both of these tunes I need to run them more like I would for a Super Lap so I'm off to Test Drive where there are no AI roadblocks. I'll report back and how 2 tunes can bring so much happiness is a credit to both tuners and the excellent :gtplanet: community.

Thanks a lot my dear friend Barnabas. It's a real pleasure for me to read your enjoy and yours comments very detailed. I am very happy that with these two tunes you can win. Alls my dear friend @GhostRider65 's tunes for this event are beautiful and excellent.:bowdown::cheers:
Thanks again my dear friend Barnabas for having used these two tunes :cheers:

I forgot I had another GT40;the Anniversary Edition. Put @GhostRider65 tune on it as much as I could because it already had 3 different tunes and oil changes and rigidity improvement. The suspension I was able to use as well as the LSD settings. I had to do my own transmission since I couldn't get the ratios to match all because of an oil change. I managed to get into the 50's with the combination. It was a fun ride as well. I know both @ROCKET JOE and I have been upside down:lol: and almost did it again. The rumble strips on this track must be 6 inches tall, so instead of it helping you through the corner it wants to cause you to roll. The first turn is the worst for me.

@Racin510s glad you did so well in this car!! I use a DS3 as well with auotmatic gears, this track I have been going with no ASM or traction control and ABS at 2. I would love to test out your tune for this car, post it up and I'll see how I do...

Greetings Wolf, here is the tune. Regarding the transmission, normally when I can't get the same gears due to oil changes I set the top speed @ 176 MPH and adjust each gear using the graph to the left and then set the final. I have to say that I don't remember exactly how I set this trans. up. I'm sorry for that. I guess you could buy another one and use the link and set the car with @GhostRider65 tune. I bought everything that you could buy for the car, so you should end up @ 525PP, 525 HP, 400.7 ft-lb torque and weight should be 1245 kg. I made 3 tweaks to the original tune. I changed the rear springs to 6.50 from the original 6.48, changed the rear toe to +0.008 from the original +0.006 and the brake balance.
110/110
11.68/6.50
5/4
4/3
3/5
-0.008/+0.008
Trans
149 MPH
1st 3.470
2nd 2.237
3rd 1.680
4th 1.282
5th 1.034
Final 3.663
LSD 8/5/18
Brks 7/6
My DS3 is set with sensitivity @ 4, no ASM, no SRF, Active Steering to strong , ABS 4 and TC varies with the car. On the Ghia I have it set @ 3. I had a DFGT but it died so I'm working my way back to no aids except ABS1. Since I have the SRF turned off I use a higher TC number because I use the D-Pad for steering and it is very hard for me to correct when the rear steps out. I drive as fast and deep as I can into a turn and with the brakes set higher and ABS 4 I can brake very hard, let the car roll into the turn and then full throttle from apex on.

Edit: I went and made a run with it before posting to tune. I wanted to be sure that I was giving you the exact tune I use. 1 important thing I just remembered, wheels are +2. I don't know if this would affect the tune or not. To me it's a fun car to drive.
It has a sweet sound and with 400 ft-lb torque my 2nd gear is set as close to 1st gear possible cause I've never been able to downshift to 1st gear with the automatic so my 2nd gear is a very good pulling gear. I hope this works for you as it has for me.

My fastest lap so far. Driving the '66 GT40 with @GhostRider65 tune. I'm losing so much time to the AI roadblocks. I'm in 4th pace before the end of lap 2 and when I catch any AI I have to go to outside to pass them and they try and run me of the track. Same thing happens from 3rd place. I have the Cobra and a GT40 side by side and to stay clean I have to follow until I can find a place to pass. I don't think I have much more time to gain and I probably would never get in the 40's. It has been both fun and frustrating at the same time. I'll try a few more times and see what happens. Hopefully I can catch the front 2 in a better section of the track.

I tried out your tune today, I have odd days off, this was the best I could do. I couldn't get the trans to the same numbers you had, so I got as close as I could. Oil change, chassis rigididity, DS3, AT, ASM off, ABS 2, SRF off, Active steering off, controller sensitivity at 2, top speed was 164mph, fastest lap 1:22.437.
Still think this car is tail happy!! Good tune though, you should be proud of your accomplishments...

@Wolf68 thank you for the compliment. The tune started life from @GhostRider65 and I tweaked it to suit my driving style. You were close to 10 seconds faster that your previous run with this set up. I use Active Steering on Strong so I don't know if that makes the difference or not. I'm still just a babe lost in the woods at tuning. I have read both tuning manuals by @DolHaus :tup:and @Motor City Hami :tup:and have been given lessons from @skeagracing :tup:so I must give credit to these people or I'd still be using other tuners specs. I hope it was a joyful fun drive as it was for me.

When I'm approaching a turn I drive as deep as possible, brake very hard, let the car roll just a bit and then back on the gas. That was what I learned at Skip Barber's Racing School back in the '70's. I set my brake balance higher and use ABS 4. That could be the difference as well. Thank you so much for giving it a good run. Not sure to tell you how to solve the oversteer (tail happy) except maybe decrease the rear toe a couple of clicks and then lower the spring rate if the toe doesn't help.

Tried the Plymouth XNR Ghia Roadster '60 on Stock settings, the Car was driving much better than i remembered it, maybe i improved a little over the last months?! :)
It took nearly as long to find the right field (without Ford GT and/or Cobras) to have a chance as it took to win afterwards

Messed up the last lap a bit, but still OK i think :gtpflag:
