Took me a few goes to nail this event, firstly with my Lotus Evora, then with my Subaru S206.

The Lotus was, well, a handful. I haven't perfected the tuning for this ride yet, so it was really hard to keep the throttle down through most corners without losing the tail, meaning I couldn't get any better than a 1:16 lap in the four or five attempts I had with the Evora. She's a stunner of a car though, so I didn't mind spending a bit of time trying to work my way through the field!

Then I jumped into one of my go-to cars: the S206. This thing just tears the field apart. My second lap was a 1:12, simply because I could keep the throttle down hard the whole way through most corners, take most corners at much higher speeds due to the masses of grip, and brake much later than I could in the Evora. It still took me two goes to get the Subie up in front of the F40 (which beat me by 0.3 secs the first time round).

I don't know what to say about this one. It was tough! I gave it one try in my Maserati GranTurismo S and only managed 8th. I almost sort of considered bringing out my BMW Z8, but I figured that may not be enough to take on the undulations of this Matterhorn course. I felt like crap trying to take on this race. I should maybe look for more cars to try to take this race on with.
Cannot remember my tune for the Masserati that I used for this race, but I won easily with it. Along with several others including, but not limited to, Opel turbo speedster, r390 road car, Ferrari Italiano?, wr-x b-22 and some others. Found that getting the weight/ power-suspension just right, you can actually semi drift the corners very quick for laps in the 1-09-10 range that give you a comfortable win. Cheers.

Finally a Gold.
Only because I finally ended up with an Intermediate Level line-up, where the cars seemed to match my BMW CSL (with the @shaunm80 tune);
DB9 '06 followed by
XFR '10
Tuascan speed
etc.

Was in First place as I crossed the line to start Lap 4. Rather than not even getting a glimpse of the first and second place cars.

You got an easier line up then. That's good to hear. :) glad my tune helped you out.

Honestly was very challenging for me and thought I wasn't gonna beat it. Tried with BMW csl and was 1 second behind first, very sad but then got first with Corvette Grand Sport ☺. Have to not mess up and get very clean laps.

My previous best finish to this Seasonal was 8th. Tuning my 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR T.M. SCP from the Polyphony Digital Cup, I was able to finish 3rd. I didn't have enough to pass the 2nd Place BMW M5 ahead of me, and I sure as heck wasn't going to pass the 2007 Nissan GT-R with a ten-second lead. So I was pleased to get a podium.

I think the biggest challenge to this course is more of the blind corners coupled with the various undulations in the road. It can be tough to actually judge the corners as you go along. Large margins on a short course can seem like an eternity. For example, if you're down by about five seconds at Circuit de la Sarthe or any of the Nordschliefe courses, you can make that up fairly well. If you're down by five seconds at a track like Tsukuba or someplace, it's like you lead by a country mile. Matterhorn Dristelen is two miles (or approx. 3.22km) long. Being down by at least 35 seconds and trying to make it up in four laps is almost unfair.

Third is good, but 2nd is better, and 1st is best. I'm making some progress but have yet to clear all three Challenge races (something I've never done for any set of Challenge races in GT6).

The Suzuki is very good here. I am having good luck with the Lotus Elise also--close second, but still room for improvement. NSR road car also good.

Just now, I got 2nd using the TVR Tuscan Speed 6. I felt like I had a chance to pass the GT-R, but I couldn't catch up to it in time. Only one position is better than 2nd... 1st! I hope to knock down 1st to this Seasonal eventually!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I FINALLY was able to clear this bloody bonkers Seasonal just now! The winning weapon in my stable was the 2000 TVR Tuscan Speed 6. I had a feeling in which I felt like this would be the race I finally deliver a breakthrough performance at such a tough Seasonal. After many tries, I finally put it together and pull out a win. Part of my happiness began as I was about 11 seconds back on Lap 3. It was further happy for me when I was down by 4 seconds on the final lap. "So you're saying there's a chance," right? Oh yeah, I had a chance alright. I was able to pass the 2nd Place Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car followed by the leading C7 Corvette. After that, I was jacked! I finally got the proverbial monkey off my back and knocked down a big win here.

In my GT6 Seasonal history, I have NEVER cleared all three Challenge races with Gold. I would only clear the Beginner and Intermediate races often times but fail to complete or win on the Expert level. I am pleased to win on all three levels finally. I feel SO good now to finally clear this treacherous Seasonal.

Hi guys, i'm new here but have been playing GT for a while now. :) Good to be a part of :gtpflag:

I used the MR-S. I like this car a lot since it's what I drive in the real world too. My time wasn't the greatest and tbh I restarted a few times so my rabbit would be slower, but I could've shaved off a good 3-5 seconds off of the total time imo. i'm also kind of noob and playing with the controller. I had a lot of fun with this one, even though it was frustrating at times. I also kind of went off the driving line at the bottom of the hill before the finish, and was able to cut that corner pretty well.

For me, winning was easier with Comfort Softs in front.

^Agreed. Sports/Hard on the back, C/S on the front.

High-RPM turbo , 6-speed, full weight reduction, didn't really adjust too much else/ can't remember.

Tried the Fisker Karma on the weekend - three attempts, third being the fastest, but couldn't get the gap down to under 13 seconds. Interesting car to drive (really tail-happy in default suspension settings!). Anyone looking for a real challenge, try win this one with the Karma! Would be real interested to see if anyone can!

I really like this course and race.

Here's a setup that runs steadily in the '10's and '11's, takes the first kink in the straight without much slowing, and flies through the 2nd kink flat out, then outbrakes everyone else to a ridiculous degree. The blind downhill left is laughably fast; you kill them here. No SRF, no active steering, no ASM, TC 1.

Tried lots of cars that did constant '11's and coming 2nd, then won it easy with the Elise averaging '15's and with a 5 second lead, Aston Martin and XKR lead cars and easy to catch. So its all down to the field your drawn against.

Tough one! I managed to place second twice using a 2014 Corvette! Ran out of time before I could close the gap on the lead car! Lost by 5 seconds!

I guess I'll try to get favorable lineup next time out since it seems to come down with the field you're running against.

I tryed a couple of cars, like of you did as well i think.

In the end i found two cars working very well on the track. especially the pace on the first straight is significant higher then with all the other cars i used.

First there was the Toyota FT-1 graphite. good speed moderate handling but no option to improve or adjust settings.
If it fits with the setting its fast enough to overtake the leader in the hairpin (half of the track) in the 4th round.

Way better for me was my TOYOTA 86 GT 15th Anniversary Edition.
Even faster then the Toyota FT-1 graphite (break the 200 km/h on the first splittime was my reference)
Adjustable setting to gain more stability and good traction overall.
the first car for me to crack a 1.09 laptime.
I did a couple of 1.11 (stable) and some 1.10 as well.

no matter what oponents i draw. with this its a save win

[EDIT] changed in the post above. At home i may post the setup i used for this

Don't you mean: Toyota FT-1 Graphite, not F1?

Closest win I've ever had. Love the Dodge Ram, predictable and very powerful.
Just completed with the cheapest car I thought capable of winning this. Sirion X4 a real Wolf in sheeps clothing.

Tried a few different cars in this event last night, just to see what I've got that could handle this seasonal.

First up was my maxxed out Golf I GTI '76. After some tuning of the suspension to get rid of some of the massive understeer issues I was having, adding a little ballast at +50, and a tweak to the gearbox ratios, I managed to run a reasonable 3rd place, about 6 seconds behind the Spyker rabbit, posting consistent 1:12's. One thing to bear in mind for this car is it's lack of power and tendency to light up the front tyres when climbing the steep incline at the top of the hill. Keep the speed up as much as possible, without relying on acceleration up the long slow incline, and try to feather the throttle at the top of the incline, to keep the speeds as high as you can throughout the lap.

Then I tried the Range Rover Evoque which I've got tuned quite nicely, although there's still a bit of understeer I need to eradicate. With a solid 500PP, and driving like a bit of a nutcase (slammed into the wall on the outside of the final bend twice) I managed to pip the Zonda rabbit on the home straight for a narrow win. With some more reasonable driving and that understeer taken care of, I think this thing could achieve easy wins around the track. This thing obviously has a tonne more acceleration than the Golf I GTI '76, and 4WD makes the incline a walk in the park (if you don't get overly ambitious and overrun the corner into the outside wall...)

Finally, I jumped in the Autobianchi A112 Abarth '79 for a bit of a laugh. While the PP rating was pretty close, it's performance was pretty dismal. My fastest lap after two rounds of the event was a 1:17, and I ended up 16 seconds behind first place, in 5th. Despite the high PP rating, this thing really struggles up the hills, and has the same red front issues the Golf has, but it's slower and less agile.

I was also tempted to try my Fiat 500 F '68, with 500PP, but seeing as the Golf and the A112 both really struggled, I'm not expecting the 500 F to do much better...

I run the golf and only achieved constant 1.14's, The Evoque slightly quicker though. Just run Mazda RX500 and this thing handles great, 1.11's and easy wins.... Try the Sirion not much can beat it at 500pp
