You underestimate the Israelis by a huge margin They have no military without our support ? They fought and won the six day war against ..well against the whole Middle east ..Jordan , Syria , Egypt etc., without our support. Nixon helped them in 73 and after that the U.S. has helped them with arms, the ones you buy and so has France , Germany and the Netherlands and whatever other country makes the best arms. The British centurian tank made up the mainstay of there armor for years. The French Mirage jet there air force. Check your facts.

Israel won a war with dated machinery and against a lot of odds.
Sorta like a Minardi handing Ferrari their ass on a plate.
But Israel also pays back a good bit of the money borrowed from the US. Germany still owes the US about $50 million from 85 years ago.
Sans the soldiers, yes.
Israel generates very little money, and their army would be - without the US - merely comparable to Jordan's, or another country in its area. That should be enough, of course, excepting the fact that it's usually not one country gaining up against Israel, but several.

If the US suspends aid to Isreal then does it do the same to S. Korea, Nato countries, Afganistan, Panama, Guatamala, Venezuala ,Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Araibia etc. ???? Should the US go back to the way it was before WW II and stick its head in the sand like the rest of the world does not exist ? Isreals surrounded by hostile countrys . The United Nations it has affirmed Isreals right to exist as a nation. All the countrys that provide aid to Isreal are working under that U N resolution .

How would we maintain free trade ? Do you really think our economy can exist outside the global market ? What would we do for energy ? Would you condemm the US to 3rd world status ? Thats what isolationism would do in a world market. We would be in the same catagory as N. Korea. A closed Isolationist society.
To be honest - America does fine and doesn't need the rest of the world. Being seriously honest, several countries are probably the same way. We surely don't need free trade (we have economic sustenance!!!) and I do thin our economy could easily exist outside of the global market. Maybe some major tweaks would be in order, but that's not saying we couldn't do it. We have more than enough of our own energy.
That said - I don't think we need total isolationism. But ending the damn meddling in other countries' problems wouldn't be too bad a start if we wanted to clean up our worldwide reputation.
