So we were coming down the Old Man at Coniston...

There's a abandoned copper mine stretching up the hill. Guess it had something to do with that.

Would have gotten up closer but the ground was boggy and it's generally a bad idea to go off the beaten track.

same thing here. Its not a Formula 1... Its quite easy to see.. Just looks like a kit car you have there.

Just looks out of proportion... and doesn't fit F1 specs to ... Just looks like someone "attempted" to make a replica.. but failed. Doesnt even have a exhaust outlet to. :|

Looks like an ex F3000 or Formula Nippon (Lola chassis?) painted up to look like a Toyota F1. It's lack of turning vanes /barge boards and other detailing points to it being a stationary marketing/promotional prop.

The big giveaway is the head protection. Head protection increased in 1996 IIRC and Toyota came in 2002 so it's not a real Toyota F1 car.
