Jedi2016: most people who played the BMW demo and wrote in this thread downloaded and burned it. Since that and this one are very limited demos (i.e. promotional material), it won't be much an issue as long as direct links or downloading instructions are not publicly provided.

Soman: oh! I should have payed more attention :)

If its against the ToS then it is, but then we are not discussing the pirated we are discussing the demo, though the source might be a copy, it is not the source with are discussing but what the demo contents are.

SHIRAKAWA Akira It was my fault, I posted once and then Edited the information that I found the English option

Jedi2016
That answers the question I was going to ask..

"Gran_Turismo_4_DEMO_JPN_PS2DVD-HOBiO" is a pirated demo, not the legitimate one that's being released in Japan with that magazine. I believe that makes it against the terms of service to discuss here.

I doubt it would do me much good anyway.. I don't have a DVD burner, nor a modchip to play imported games.

i think this is okay, the bmw thread is full of hacks and downloads

I think I'll let the Admin team figure that out. Besides, there's one very big difference between this and the BMW demo.. The BMW Demo was released publically by Sony. The TGS version was not. It was made for public display at TGS, but not for public distribution. Therein lies the difference.

Removing the time limit is a direct violation so stating that is ok and then stating that discussing this demo is not then WTF?

Hopefully, when more people will have access to this demo, a time limit patch will come out! 150 seconds is not much.

By the way, what about engine sounds? In flash movies on the official GT4 website, engine sounds sounded richier, with more basses, and it seemed to me that exaust notes in replays varied with car distance relative to camera (especially with the Viper GTS-R @ Trial Mountain), but still not overall as realistic as the ones in Need For Speed Underground 2 (near perfection).

just go the demo

this should be final build of GT4, the game physics has been tweaked a bit compare to GT4P, cars are more forgiving and easier to drive then GT4P, especially with Driving Force Pro... i did not try playing with DS2. steering response is alot better then GT4P. feels much more realistic in this version

nothing big has changed, just minor tweaks to make it even closer to the real thing. tire sound is one of the first thing i notice thats different.

the new HUD is much nicer to look at. Nurburgring is really nice. AI seems to be improved a bit, they are faster then the ones in GT3, and GT4P.

dont really like the new Paris track.... not really fun. Trial Mountain is the pretty much the same, but alot nicer looking. it makes GT3's Trial Mountian looks bad. not quite the jump from GT2 -> GT3, but u can see the difference.

photomode is really cool. i hope there is the option to transfer the pictures taken into computers. cuz i'll be playing with this mode alot.... it seems u can use a few different brand of cameras, but right now Canon is locked.

some interesting finds are that this version allow us to change metric and imprial system. (about time!)

i hope the final Japanese version allows bi-lingual like this demo. .

i think there is a big chance that famitsu will give this game a perfect score. both the driving mode and photo mode are aimed that no matter that u are amature or professional u can still enjoy it, easy to use for amatures, and really in depth setup for professionals. the level of detail in this game is just astonishing... i cant wait to see the tuning aspect with this game.

@ Hyde :)
sounds very nice.. you did not play the BMW demo right?
it's not really different from that version i guess :( it's still nice to drive the new cars in this demo :D
and i would like to try the photomode to sounds very cool to me :)

with a bit luck i can feel this demo for my self 15hours from now :D

take care and thanxz for the info Hyde.

Hyde I got with the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nür 02 on Trial Mountain the time 1:46:240
Not driving help, and on MT and played on GT Force Pro...Just want to get an idea how other people are doing.

No more than 2 wheels ever touches outside the road

What did you get?

no, i did not have a chance to play the BMW demo. most of my experience are done in GT4P

now, i really dunno i can go back playing GT4P.... i'm really glad they didnt just made the final GT4 with whats in GT4P but more cars and track.

all sounds good except this!

GTXLR
all sounds good except this!

This really depends on what car is being driven. If it is a street car with normal tires then this would not be good. But if it has racing tires it would make sense, or if it was the racing Falken Skyline then it would be more responsive.

Cars more forgiving!? That is not good at all. did you drive with the aid off and did you use road tires? The cars should be harder to handle than the ones in gt4p.

its not likely that they made the physics tougher in the bmw demo, then made them easier again for this demo. You prolly played with the wrong tires or assists on

Its like the BMW demo, By the way that time was on Street tires

There are 3 tires,
Street
Sport
Arcade

In rank of who has the best grip is
Arcade
Sport
Street
