YF-23 confirmed as playable.
To be honest though, I'm not sure I really like how the gameplay itself looks. It's hard to fully judge before having played it yourself, but the physics frankly look abysmal. There's no weight to the aircraft, energy conservation is a non issue, as the plane accelerates and decelerates in no time at all, and completely at the will of the player. I'm not expecting a sim, but this is looking arcade to the point of the flying not being any fun.
The characters seem to compete with one another on who can reiterate the exact same sentence the most. We really don't need to hear 20 times within five minutes that we're expendable...
As someone that played ace combat 4, 5, zero to death i must say this makes me happy 👍
Question has the F-14 Tomcat been confirm?
- A Gamescom video seen in an older Reddit post talked about how the VR missions account for roughly 3-4 hours of gameplay. In addition to that, we have the airshow mode, hangar mode for closer inspection of the aircraft, and free flight mode. Overall, the VR aspect does appear to be of a reasonable size. A shame for those who do not own a PS VR though.
Really? To be honest this smacks of yet another Japanese developer thats incorporated VR into the game as a mere sideshow, like GTS and Tekken 7. And if I'm to go into full conspiracy theory mode I would say the only reason VR is there is because the developer was pressured by Sony into doing so - hence the limited content.
At the moment I'm thinking it's such a wasted VR opportunity, but I'll wait for final release to make my final judgement.
Interesting. The only PS2 trilogy title I still have a copy of is ACZ. I didn't enjoy AC5 as much as AC04 or ACZ, but then I haven't already replayed it a bunch like the others, either. I'll enjoy revisiting it. It will also be a little bit nicer via HDMI versus my composite-into-VGA setup for the PS2.Additionally, if you pre-order...for the PS4, [you receive] a digital copy of the best game in the franchise, Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. The big question is if Unsung War will be a straight port, or remastered. If it's remastered, which I very much doubt it will be, then that would be amazing!
Season passes in general seem to be declining in value-for-money...Last, but not least, DLC plans have been announced, with the season pass being included with the deluxe edition of the game. Seasons pass includes three planes (kind of a low amount to be honest), three stages (missions?) and a music player (how is that DLC?).
More less than great news. VR will be limited to four aircraft, the F-22 Raptor, SU-30M2 Flanker and the F-18F Super Hornet. The 4th aircraft remains undisclosed as of yet, but is likely to be the reappearing fictional aircraft from one of the older games. Really disappointed that I won't be taking to the skies in VR in an F-16... I am now also thinking that VR was a wasted opportunity.

Hate to say I told you so. What I've gathered from reading around is that the Japanese just aren't into VR, at least not in the same way we are in the west, so the Japanese developers just don't put any real effort into it. To them it's still a tech demo rather than a viable gaming medium.
Shame as I was really thinking about preordering AC7, but now I'll just wait until it hits the sales late next year.
Perhaps they could have made it so you're sat in a theatre watching the cut scenes on a big screen, or with you being debreifed while watching a big screen? Too late now anyway. The reason VR isn't incorporated into the game as a whole is because they couldn't figure out a way to fit it into their type of storytelling with the cutscenes. In any case, with free flight and several hours of VR missions, I fail to see how it is tacked on.
Fans of Sukhoi's Flanker series will be happy to know that the SU-34 has been confirmed as playable in the latest plane showcase. Is that the first time it has appeared in Ace Combat?
Huh, I did not recall it being in AC5 at all. Cheers for the info.
Does anyone know if this game's going to support motion control via the 6-axis feature in the controller? If it does I might just pull the trigger. Pun intended.
Not to my knowledge. If you want, I shall report back to you once I have the game.
Wonder if there will be any type of photomode, replay, etc looks quite good this..
