Do you guys have a trick to finding special raid missions?


On the other side, 69K points on B7R area in a 4 player room (1,9K MR), won by 10K points against my teammate, great job with his YF-23, both using the Grunder emblem :lol:
1,2K raning pts.

Not sure if my equipment just isn't up to scratch or if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm leaning towards there just not being enough targets to go around at B7R, I'm flat-out scoring 30k pts where on most normal sorties I'd get 50k+.

Special missions are completely random so there's no trick actually, it's probably just my impression but it's easier to find special raid mission when in random maps rooms.
In area B7R my score is around 40/50K (4 players room). Most of the time a 40K score is enough to get MVP.
The score is low anyway, the montly map emblem requires more sortie than usual. 500K points are not so easy to reach fast this time.
May have been a glitch or stealth aircraft? Game has just been patched so I'd lean towards the special raid glitching.
I'm sure it was a far away stealth fighter...I felt bad for the guys inside the room :indiff:
I'm still stocking fuel, passing this event since there are 2 tranches of forced sorties, no way to get top 200/1000 with a reasonable amount of fuel. I'll burn when it comes to the AC3 craft seen in the trailer, I'm sure I'll get tons of money with the contracts.
 
Yeah I'm passing this tourny too, I'm on 90 stocked fuels although I did use 2 in the last couple days just to get the 120k points challenge.:banghead: Research is taking for EVER! My YF-23 is STILL on lv.4, it should become effective once it reaches level 6 (I have a level 5-6 upgrade card ready for it).
 
I wonder how hard MDPIV will be, considering that the Aigaion has more lasers than MDPIII.:scared:

Probably the same as Tokyo (Hard). Having something with levelled up bombs or rockets will help clearing out the lasers and guns though. Very interested to know the payouts for the level 4 raids.

@Vitocorp If it's only an MDP1 don't worry about it too much :lol:. The level one raids don't pay that much higher than S-ranking standard co-op missions anyway + we've all had those moments where we have a complete mind blank and end a level 1 raid prematurely.

@Paulie I tend to find the special raids in the aiming for special raid rooms. Usually try to use up the 3 supplied in one room sitting where possible. Not sure if there's any correlation but after a very close match (margin between teams is ~1000 pts or less) the room will tend to spawn one. Tbh the raids are only worthwhile when they're level 2 or higher. If I'm out of supplied and a level 1 raid comes up I don't bother with stocked fuel unless I really wanted to get one last sortie in.

Expecially for black or gold variant and when you are in a limited player room.

Maximum reached was 1894 then I dropped in the 1700 rank.

Ah that session! I somewhat remember the sorties being all over the place trying to find a good set-up for the F-22. The guy who posted the photo just had to pick a particilarly terrible round for my team :lol:.

I don't worry about level 1 raid missions either when I'm out of Supplied, they're not worth it. I've also just done my first Tokyo HARD mission, I scored ~48k and high scored on the losing team of an 8 player room in the 1900-2000 MR range with a couple 1800 guys. We got an A rank and my payout was an absolutely pathetic $6,000. Why give us hard missions if the payouts aren't increased?:odd:

Well finally got another raid mission, SHR II, so I forced sortie x3 stocked fuels and got a nice payday. My YF-23 is finally level 5, and I've started research on the B-1B Lancer.

Edit: What do you think would be more powerful, HCAA missiles with speed, damage and homing upgrades or standard missiles with the upgrades? Also, stat bars are so incredibly off, a lv.5 YF-23 is listed as having a decent amount more air damage than a lv.10 F-35, yet the F-35 is the one with more attack power in real sortie situations (eg. The F-35 can one-shot the 2000pt Mig-31's, the YF-23 can't yet). And yes, they do have the same standard missile upgrades, except for homing.

Personally I would use the space for the upgrades for standard missiles instead of HCAA just because I hate those type of missiles. We don't have specs for standards so it's difficult to compare those, it needs some testing.

I guess I could give it a run (one day, when I unlock the Medium homing upgrade for special weapons), though my HCAA is only on level 2, I suppose it wouldn't make much of a difference since special weapon upgrades to jack all for their performance.

The special weapons stats bars lie! Huge difference between level 1 and level 5 QAAMs despite minimal stat bar improvement. With the M homing upgrade I think we'll get start to get close to Ace Combat 4 level homing. Also I read that HCAA's received a buff after the update so they're not as underpowered as before.

In other news - I need a 6AAM boat. Today I played with a very bad Yellow 13 (QAAM) configuration in area B7R, MR room around 1900 the plane is still extremely good of course, and I managed to eat both the Berkuts on the other team but my allied Shinden with 6AAM took me most of my targets...pretty sure I could have taken the MVP title with a better configuration and a little bit of extra effort...
Another EXTREMELY good choice are HVAA, for the long range of course.
We don't know about the X-02, this one can be a multirole or a fighter.
If multirole...I'm sure it will have the zero setup, with QAAM, 4AAM and 4AGM.
The jack of all trades fighter should have 6AAM QAAM and HVAA!
Anyway, if you have a solid fighter with HVAA or 4AAM (your Yellow 13, QAAMs are good as well) go and use those, just make sure to increase the acceleration in order to compensate the short range of 4AAMs or QAAMs.
If you can resist, wait until the release of the X-02, I'm sure we will fly this bird on January or so, the "super-special aircraft of the month" is the UPEO Su-37 from AC3.
 
I'm currently building the YF-23 up with HVAA. At level 6 it will be able to have the Large upgrades of speed, homing and damage on standard missiles, and be the only Fighter that can do this (On the body, currently going with Large acceleration, pitch/ascent/descent and stealth). With the limited parts slots on Fighters, do you guys put it to special weapons or standard missiles? I just feel like standard missiles are useless without the upgrades, couldn't shoot a fish in a barrel much less kill it.

Happy birthday.:cheers: The FB-22, while fast and the top level Attacker now, also has a shoddy special weapons selection. I'm working towards the B-2, super expensive but it also looks like it will be effective at level 1 anyway, based on stats and loadout.

Edit: According to seesaawiki the Bombers only go up to level 5 at the moment, but level 5 on a B-2A is $5,054,400. :lol:

Edit 2: Just had a look at the level IV Raid Missions on there too, it would appear the Butterfly Master appears on them as well.

I also got shot down twice by regular ground targets (seriously, they kill you in almost one missile). Despite the S rank, and being in forced sortie x2, I was rewarded a 🤬 poor $10k.:irked: Horrible mission, not worth anyone's time.

Research on the B-1B is now complete, I can't afford it yet though (about $300k short :banghead:). At least now I can go full steam ahead on upgrading the YF-23.

And I thought PA would at least increase the payouts. Looks like it isn't worth the hoo-has to complete the mission.

Played SR1 and a B1-B took out all the turrets before we could even reach the A rank, what an idiot. MVP on Moscow and B7R at least, and another golden crate with 10 tickets, still dropping a good amount of stocked fuel, but seems like I always get tickets from golden crates now.
 
I think I can confirm MDP I is now glitched, although it's also possible the last enemy hadn't spawned yet. I was in a lobby the other day, we absolutely mowed down the aerial warships and had just the cockpit left with over 2min (!!!!) on the clock. I kept screaming "Delay the Final Attack!", thinking we should run down the clock in case something else spawned. Of course my pleas were ignored and someone ended the mission, we got an A rank. Now there were no other enemies left at the time, so I'd say it's glitched, but again with so much time left on the clock it's possible the final enemies hadn't spawned yet.
Lucky I was only on a Supplied fuel!

Can I also say the team selection seems to most of the time try and balance things, but occasionally it just lets one team be OP and run amok!:lol: I was struggling to find a lobby so joined one with a host of a MR just above mine (which currently sits circa 2000), but had a policy of "Beginners Welcome". Apparently the game thought beginners were scum, because it ended up being two 2000 guys vs two 1500 guys, we more than doubled their score and I MVP'ed with just over 100k points (which I've now done on multiple occasions). The next sortie it balanced things and we each had a trainee wingman so the battle was close.

I haven't seen a Bomber yet (I bet having one or two in a lobby against the Gold or Black Stonehenge would be immensely useful), but if I can keep going at the rate I am, I may have my own by the weekend.:) I think most golden crates I've had lately were the F-16F skin, still no Jolly Rogers.:grumpy:

No jolly rogers for me either, I'm getting a very good amount of stocked fuel and tickets but I read those are quite common drops.
Namco should slightly increase payouts and remove the credit prizes from the grey boxes making tickets the most common prize instead.

Despite those results and my MR getting higher and higher, I'm pretty sure if we ever sortie togheter I will hit the bottom of the leaderboard :lol:

First one is B7R, second one Tokyo Hard, third one B7R again. Tokyo was a 2100 room, but some guys were lower than me, Second B7R was a 1900 room, all higher than my MR.

I finally finished research in to level 6 for my YF-23 tonight, which I used the free upgrade card on. Changed the parts over to accomodate the extra parts slots and it felt like a new jet, heaps more nimble and way more destructive. For once I held my own in an Area B7R lobby full of 1900 MR guys (6 player lobby), scored fourty-something thousand points.
Then I got JUST enough cash to buy the B-1B Lancer as well (I now have some $300 left :lol:). Took the Bomber in to a test flight, was surprised to find out that you can launch FOUR MUGB's at once! Was kind of disappointed at the launch range of the MUGB though, unless you're flying super low or really good at holding the camera angle a certain way, you can't even see where it's going to land it's that far below you. The MGPB definitely seems to have more range though, if I remember tomorrow night I'll compare the range on the GPB on my level 2 F-117 against the MGPB on the B-1B for you guys. Also disappointing is the Bombers have a "Standard" control type, you can't bank or roll in them, they do that on their own, you just push left or right to go that way. Next time Stonehenge or Weapons Base missions come up I'm giving the B-1B a go!
