One bill after the other, when will they stop, if ever??? :grumpy:

This non-sense will hopefully stop when this generation of ********, *******, beeeep , ****** dies the **** off ;)

Seriously though, I see an evolution in the political involvement of the "people, citizens" which can only be good, even though there are a lot of dumb people there too, and I mean a lot.
In Germany the Pirate Party is gaining massively, even though they don't have a real agenda, but people are just soo pissed off, that it is a viable option,it can't be a lot worse than the politicians do now.

And it's hugely fun to see a party of nerds, with no real knowledge (policital, economics,...) and no agenda beat the crap out of established parities with full agendas.

Guys, ACTA IS DEAD. At least in the EU, which probably means it's dead for everyone.

The EU parliament decided against it a few hours ago.
We won, take that Content Mafia ;)
But this is merely a battle won, the war isn't over as other bills will surely follow.

Also they chose a nice date to vote against a bill created by Hollywood

Bye bye ACTA, hopefully you're buried so low in the ground that nobody ever finds you again.

More similar bills? Only nice challenges for us wiser people who have realized that some want us silenced ;)

The European Union just needs to be :censored:ed off.

Much better without it.
👍 👍 I can see it all collapsing in the next few years to be honest. Greece will have to pull out soon followed by Spain, Portugal and Ireland.

So ACTA is international SOPA on steroids basically? This is not good. Why do they try to stop us? They don't seem to have a clue about how many people are on the net and how many are against these bills. I had a bad feeling about SOPA, and I have a bad feeling about CISPA. Why are they reincarnating and repurposing bills that were criticized in the first place? It's not gonna work. We have to stop ACTA. We have to ACTA now. Sorry for the pun. We must stop them. Why do they even bother to try and cripple the Internet? They'll easily be stopped.

Oh wait, ACTA is dead? Thank goodness. It would have never passed. Never mind then.

I am so glad that they killed ACTA. But attempts to pass bills like this just proves a point. Power corrupts. It's all fuelled by the entertainment industry, the big film studios and the major record labels don't want people pirating their stuff, which is strange on the behalf of the record labels considering people who pirate music often go on to pay MORE than the people who don't.
One day bills like this will be silenced completely by a revolution. I can feel it coming. I don't know where it will be, I don't know when it will be, but I know that one day something some big, powerful, supposedly civilised developed country (countries?) does is going to lead to their head of state being hit by a rocket propelled grenade. The loss of human life would be tragic, but the reasons will be clear.
I saw a slogan on a poster earlier today that sums up what I'm saying:
"When the rich attack the poor it is called business, when the poor fight back it is called violence."
