Ad-Hoc Racing = Black Ice On Track?

Hey folks,

A few of my coworkers and I play GT PSP when we have some time to spare. However, we've noticed that our cars have a tendency to skate around as if we're driving on ice. It seems to come and go. Even with R3 tires, it seems too easy to spin out on turns...Has anyone noticed this before?

Am I just used to the single-player "rubber band" syndrome?

are you guys on the same channel or do you have it set up as automatic? set it to channel 1 or 6 or 11. automatic usually messes AD-Hoc play up.

I reckon it's a psychological thing. You're racing against a human who is unpredictable, unlike the AI, who mindlessly try to stick with the best line within the car's limits. I play ad-hoc at work with two other people, and the racing is insanely competitive. It's all about one-upmanship, and about who gets to gloat, so you're pushing it to outdrive your opponent.

I usually host and I was setup as Automatic. I'll set it to a channel next time we play. Thanks :)

Jamster, yeah, I could see that. However, I'd race using a Spoon Civic Type R with R3 tires and was cautious around turns and it still felt like I was on a Crisco'd track.

Some of the races will give a penalty of some description to the most winning car.

I've played it today and there is a +/- next to your name regarding performance points. This can make a big differnce in terms of your grip levels and performance etc.

I assume that's only in Party Mode. I'll have to check Professional mode. I think we assumed the handicap was just to slow down the faster cars, but I guess grip also put into consideration.

Thanks for the heads-up!
