Adjusting FOV/Camera using the Multi-screen options

How did I miss this? Anyone mind PM'ing me the details for how to do this, might just breath a little more life into GT5 for me while waiting for GT6:tup:

Cheers for all the responses, although I must admit I was drunk when I posted and was going to waffle on about how there is actually a formula to determine the correct FOV for a particular set-up. But now being sober I'm not going to preach at you, in other words forget I said anything.

Adding a few more shots, including my personal favourite - the VW Samba Bus. Gotta' love that view.

I love this. I wish I'd checked this out and found it sooner.
You can finally get to feel like your seeing the road from where your eyes would actually be.
I'm not a small guy, I sit with my seat back and my head is near the rooflining, (...before you ask, no I'm not driving a 'small' car, 2003 Volvo T5) and this function gives my GT5 gaming view a more realistic feel.

👍

Are you freaking kidding me?! All this time, I've let this thread slip right under my nose! I love this! This actually gives the sense of speed. Honestly, in GT5 you could be driving 300 kmh and it would seem like nothing, but, now! This is going to be such a joy to drive in. No more panning the camera to the left or right, to look at the mirrors.

BTW, is there an option to make the camera sweep back to its original state in cockpit view? Because I've always hated the snapping back action.

why PD does not simply put ajustable FOV in the options (would be good for GT6)? Someone can explain me why PD makes makes the interior so damn detailed and then put the FOV so far ahead that I feel like a grandpa?

This photos look amazing, I'm going to try this right after I have my GT5 back :P

Someone could take a photo to the lancer evo 9 with this FOV, please?

Nice find! Forza had a multi screen option you could do this trick in game, and 62 degrees is what I use there... Its been one of the leading reasons its been hard for me to go back and forth between the games... that, and audio but I don't need to feed that fire.

Please PM me the instructions!

PM sent

How did I miss this?! I currently have my TV mounted to my Playseat so it is a tad too close, having a better FOV will make it easier to look at, so can someone PM me with how to do this please?

*Although if this uses hex / hacking I'll probably leave it for now.

No Hack, or Hex - it's all part of the regular options.

First Gt5 screen at startup.
Go to Options - The Gear..
2nd row, all the way to the right end - Multi-Screen
set it as server
3 x 1
then you can adjust the settings to find one you like..

Or follow the link in my post 3 above this one..

As far as I know, it got patched and made unavailable a while back. You do need to hack your save data to unlock the ''secret menu''.

It didn't change at all from the original post ;)
I just double checked with my non-hacked game, on my second PSN account. Setting the Multi-Monitor as Server didn't do squat. I'm also missing many of the options in OP's post, which determines the FOV. So, once again - yes, you do need to unlock them through the secret menu.

Nope, Multi-Screen, Server, 3 x 1 is still there, I use it all the time...
Options,
2nd row, all the way to the right..

Has to be there, because Multi-Screen is a STANDARD Feature.
With 1 PS3, and just 1 screen
you still can set the options, and they still work..

Read my previous post. It's there, however, without the secret menu you'll be missing many of the other options and without them, it'll have no effect on the FOV whatsoever.

Hyland is correct, without secret menu activated, the Y angle ( degree ) and screen angle of view ( percentage ) adjustment will not be available, thus you can't alter the angle of view to zoom out.

If you look at the Picture I posted above
Angle of Curvature and Angle of View are all you need to adjust.
this changes the FOV for the Center Screen.

Edit: We are gaming in different parts of the world. That might affect how our games differ.
In the very 1st Post of this thread, is a Multi-Monitor set up screen I have never seen.

Could it also be that international Game versions had a different Multi-monitor option?
The Screen I see, is the same one I've been adjusting since 2011.
I only recently ( 2013 ) add the other 2 Screens, and other 2 PS3's to my set up.
Prior to that, I had Just a single Screen and 1 PS3, and I've been adjusting the Multi Monitor settings ever since I found they alter the FOV.

It is true that it adjusts the view, but not in a way to get a slightly farther back viewpoint, which is what some people want to achieve.

I prefer a viewpoint that puts the opposite edge of the windshield just at the edge of the viewable area, but with GT5, I can't get that without doing whatever trick the other users have done.

I've never been into "Multi-monitor", so I thought it always been like that. Everyone makes mistakes ^^

I doubt that is the case. But since you're running a triple screen setup, that might explain the misunderstanding.

:)

Now, does this work with the dreaded update 2.15?

Yes, thankfully.

I just tried it without any hidden menu or hacks... It will only worsen the FOV. The zoom IN can be set at ridicously big angles. - > Imagine your head only few centimetres from windshield.

My Secret Menu settings wont work anymore.

Don't tell me they secretly patched this too.....

If you hacked your save data before the update, there shouldn't any problems I assume. The secret menu and my FOV settings were at least unaffected by the 2.15 update.

could somebody posts a screenshot of their exact settings please.

I was only able to narrow down the FOV but wasnt able to extend it.
